Dona P. rated 5 stars on 12/20/2023

Personally I don’t think anyone can comment on the treatment style of 30 minutes with your therapist for 1-1 and 30 minutes of supervised exercises while working with the next patient UNLESS YOU OWN A COMPANY THAT TAKES INSURANCE !!!!! So read that stance again- this practice TAKES INSURANCE. For most people that means nothing- there’s an assumption of we have insurance so a practices should take it. As an insurance accepting practice myself- that is NOT how it works. Small medical practice’s (solo woman owned / mom and pop establishments etc like this one)- take a HUGE hit when accepting insurance contracts for their reimbursement. At this point many small business are getting paid HALF of what their cash only / self pay only counterparts are getting paid. Also- keep in mind, an insurance contract doesn’t increase with inflation, cost of living, rising employer salaries etc…. I give the business lesson because it’s only fair for people to be informed as to why a business structure is what it is for the sake of survival… Now on to the actual PRACTITIONERS- this staff is honestly saving people from surgeries, worsening conditions, and maladaptive body patterns… I’ve been working with them for 8-9 years and my mom now drives from VA to go to them as well. They’re priceless in their cleanliness, knowledge, anatomy and functionality awareness plus FULL body attention. I cannot express how many times a DOCTOR or SURGEON has sent me in for an issue- and they’ve figured out it’s stemming from somewhere totally different ! They also are certified to do dry needling and that’s PRICELESS !!

Lemon C. rated 3 stars on 9/17/2021

This review is for the H street location. They double book, so you can expect maybe 30 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist, then for the remainder you’ll just paying for a space to do the exercises you do at home. The therapist are all very nice and know their stuff and consult with each other for treatment. The billing department is the worst. She make errors you have to call the insurance company to correct. She can’t explain anything. She can’t print detailed invoices required for my FSA card in a timely manner like every other drs office I go to.

Sana R. rated 1 stars on 5/10/2019

This review is for their Mass Ave locationBefore I start the review, let me disclose a few facts:1. I have been a patient at this location for 9 months2. I came in suffering from a very bad neck pain3. When I came for my diagnosis, I was in a lot of pain and did paper work / signed documents for more than 10 pages. When I came in today, they asked me to pay a late cancellation fee. I was not aware that they had a late cancellation fee and when I called last Friday to move my appoint (not cancel) they told me I was already booked for the following week and was set. No one on the phone mentioned to me that I will be charged $35 for the cancelled appointment. If they had told me that, I would have moved around my plans to make the appointment. When I told them that I wasn’t aware of the policy, the pulled out the waiver from 9 months ago, where I signed amongst a sea of paper one page with a line that said they charged cancellation fee. When I mentioned that it wasn’t told to me when I called, I was told it was all hearsay, in addition to being belittled by saying “I always read what I sign” and “We don’t know if you would have chosen to come–you say that now” and “all doctor’s offices have a cancellation fee”. To say the least, the person was rude and unempathetic. They were inflexible and unapologetic and clearly don’t care about customer service. Clearly, they wanted to charge the fee even if it meant losing a valuable customer.Needless to say, I asked them to cancel all my future appointments and that I will be leaving the practice considering how I was treated and the inflexibility of the practice. In 9 months, I had 0 no-shows and 2 “late” cancellations, neither of which I was informed were late. What amazes me is that if I was the owner of the business, I would have shown flexibility and empathy given a one-time $35 is not worth losing a customer who at least would bring in $150 per visit–I probably had more than 30 sessions in the last 9 months, equally at least $4500. It seems crazy to me that the staff would make a decision that would cost the business a lot of money, in addition to providing bad customer service.I liked my therapist, so it is a shame that their professionalism is forcing me to go somewhere else.

H K. rated 5 stars on 9/10/2020

When I was seriously injured in an accident, I am so very glad I chose Dr. Sarah Weimer at Washington Wellness (Mass Ave location) to help me recover. Selecting a physical therapist is a big deal, and it’s not easy if you have not had prior experience. I’m doing really well thanks to Sarah’s expertise, patience, and commitment to my recovery and the support of the entire team. The entire office is welcoming and patient-focused.Various PTs from other organizations had helped me before and after several surgeries, during my stays in three hospitals and also during months healing at home, but I didn’t feel as though I had a trusted partner to lead me through my recovery until Dr. W/Wash Wellness took me on as a patient. My recovery required rehabilitating joints and limbs, but because I had been on my back and then in a wheelchair for months (ugh!) we also had to strengthen my other muscles that had weakened. What a journey it has been!I recommend Dr. W/WW because you should select a PT with training and credentials and also who is passionate about healing, problem solving and guiding you to your best self. Because you should choose an expert PT that you feel comfortable with, who listens patiently and understands your non-expert descriptions, and who explains things clearly. Someone who shares your therapeutic goals, celebrates your successes and who knows when you can do more! There might be some days when you aren’t feeling motivated, and a therapist who shares your goals or wants you to accomplish your personal best will keep you on track.Good luck with your PT and I know you will have as great an experience at Washington Wellness as I have had!

Gabi J. rated 5 stars on 6/28/2017

Ok gotta admit I have been at WWPT longer than most patients.. not because my recovery takes long but because I COMPLETELY TRUST them to treat my different injuries… I might err in the side of accident prone and extreme sports may not necessarily help this. Obviously based on the above I have seen many different PTs through the years (hope my insurance isn’t reading this) and I really have to highlight the attention and care I have gotten at WWPT.Won’t go into detail of the treatments but both @Lauren and @Michelle have been AMAZING!They really take their time with the patient they are treating and take the time to understand any pain points and try to figure out with you things that might be aggravating that body part. By really understanding what’s going on they have been able to give me some advice on things to change or to look out for besides my at home exercises. Their advice has really prevented me from reinjuring myself during my crazy adventures. Regarding the exercises, gotta give them major props because unlike other PTs I have been to, they really work with you as you do them. They are always on the looking out for form. Not only are they keeping an eye on you but @Bria is always there to help you as well. Oh and needles… boy am I glad they are certified to do dry needling! If they offer if.. do it! It’s a bit uncomfortable but what a different this makes. Overall, I have to say my experience has been 5 stars!… from the environment … even to the not so easy insurance claims. Even for that they are highly efficient. It’s amazing to see my claims being processed with such quickness and not having to worry about that at all.If you are looking for PTs, make sure to go to WWPT and ask for Lauren or Michelle.

Ali B. rated 5 stars on 1/8/2018

I chose this place because of the good ratings on yelp and I’m really glad I got treated here because before coming to WWPT I didn’t know what was a good physical therapist. I was treated by Mary Jean for two seperate injuries and she was spectacular. She is friendly and knowledgeable. She explained a lot about the muscle groups relating to my pain and symptoms and she taught me how to manage my chronic low back pain. I would deduct a half of a star because one staff person is quite rude. I came in three times a week, and I whenever I had a payment issue, the staff person would often raise her voice at me so other people would hear. I also saw this happening to another patient who interacted with her.

Lisa A. rated 5 stars on 11/17/2015

I can’t speak highly enough about all of the staff at Washington Wellness PT! At the beginning of the summer, I was told by my Orthopedic Surgeon that BOTH of my hips had to be replaced, as I was literally bone-on-bone and in excruciating pain. My Dr assigned me to 3 weeks of PT prior to my first surgery, and then had me continue PT 3 times a week, from the day I got home from surgery. From the very beginning, I’ve been working with lead therapist Kelly Leininger, and she has been amazing! Kelly’s no-nonsense approach has been instrumental in my recovery and rehabilitation of BOTH hips. I’ve been diligent in following her prescribed exercises at home as well. Because of this, my recovery from my first hip replacement went so well, that my surgeon scheduled the second surgery 2 months to the day from the first one (when he originally told me that it would 3-4 months between surgeries).Last week, just 6 weeks Post-Op from my 2nd surgery, my Dr gave me the “all clear” and said that my recovery from both surgeries has been so good that I should be the Poster Child for Hip Replacement Surgery! I truly attribute this to all the work I did in physical therapy with Kelly at Washington Wellness.I’d also love to give a shout-out to front-desk staff – Kevin and Ashley who are friendly, welcoming, and know how to navigate the world of health insurance coverage! And the PT assistants Derek and Bria are wonderful as well – helping out with exercise coaching, or assisting with heat treatment at the end of each session. All in all, I highly recommend Washington Wellness. They have truly given me new life! After nearly 6 months of seeing everyone at Washington Wellness numerous times a week, my PT sessions are coming to a close, as everything that I’ve been taught can now be transferred to traditional workouts in a gym. Unbelievably, I’m sad to say goodbye to everyone there.

Cait G. rated 5 stars on 8/5/2015

I started going to see Lauren at Washington Wellness PT after she was recommended to me by a friend. I can’t say enough good things about the practice or Lauren herself as a practitioner. The office is located in as convenient location as you can ask for, right in Metro Center. It’s a brightly lit facility, and it is very clean and has excellent equipment. The hours are incredibly convenient. Lauren has helped me literally get back on my feet after a knee injury, working with me to figure out a rehab schedule and program that I can do easily at the gym or at home. Additionally, it’s certainly significant that she’s a people person and is very good at reading her patients. She’s very encouraging and works well to keep her patients happy and focused. If you need PT, give them a try!

Sian F. rated 5 stars on 2/14/2015

I can’t say enough about the treatment I received from Lauren. I herniated a disk in my lower back, and was in significant pain. I was depressed and unable to exercise because I wasn’t sure how to deal with my injury. I was referred to Washington Wellness by my primary care doctor. I completed my treatment with Lauren this week after several months of therapy and dry needling for my back, and I twisted an ankle in course of treatment, and she was able to help that get better as well. Lauren is a true master at what she does, and honestly, if it wasn’t for her, I would still be sitting on my couch in pain and depressed. Instead, my back feels 100% now, and I started a rigorous workout routine to get back into shape with zero pain. If you need PT, please go to Washington Wellness and see Lauren – you will not regret it! THANK YOU LAUREN!

Mandy L. rated 5 stars on 8/2/2017

I could not be happier with the service and results I received from my physical therapist, Lauren O’Shea. When I first came in, I was convinced I had done permanent damage to my hip and glute after running a strenuous half marathon that left any distance longer than a short walk painful and irritating, completely altering my formerly active lifestyle. I waited 9 months before finally seeking care at Washington Wellness. Lauren worked her magic, and after 6 months of hard work loosening and strengthening my muscles, I was able to safely and comfortably run a half marathon again. A year later I ran a full marathon and trained using the exercises and advice that Lauren equipped me with during my PT. I highly recommend her services to anyone recovering from a sports injury! She knows what she’s doing and will hold you accountable, ensuring that you see results.
