Gina G. rated 5 stars on 12/13/2018

I miss the Movement Factory!! I moved away from Cleveland a few years ago and it’s STILL my favorite Pilates studio (yes, NYC, it beats anything you offer). Cool location, knowledgable teachers, class times vary for different schedules, different types of classes too. I still am on the mailing list because I miss it so! 🙂 I only ever took Pilates classes, socan’t speak about yoga, booty bar, etc but I hear they are excellent as well. One suggestion for first time visitors: go EARLY. Both studios are a little difficult to locate in the building, but worth it when you find it!!

Christina P. rated 4 stars on 1/21/2019

I haven’t danced in years and I’ve been looking for a straight up hip hop dance class since moving back to the Cleveland area. This was exactly what I was looking for, a place to learn and dance hip hop choreography. I like Zumba as much as the next person but all the Zumba classes I’ve found are aerobic-intensive which makes sense but it’s not a dance class. I haven’t been able to find a place that does hip hop for adults where you either learn technique and choreography or at the very least choreography. The Hip Hop class is on Wednesdays at 8 PM. It’s normally $15 for the 60 minute class but they have sales and specials every so often.I came in, I stretched and then the instructor broke down a particular piece of choreography that we learned and then practiced, both with and without the music. We would then move on to learn a few more counts of the choreography and practice the entire thing. I loved it!The instructor broke it down decently and I had no issues following him. I will say the only downside that I had about my entire experience was finding this place. 8 PM in the fall/winter is dark…and this place is in an active warehouse…it was very off putting and I didn’t want to get out of my car. I was lucky I spotted a girl who ended up also going to the class and had been there before.I’m definitely excited to come back!

Jacki G. rated 5 stars on 9/30/2017

I’ve learned so much about Pilates and it’s benefits since I started taking classes here. I was going to physical therapy after having my son and have found Pilates to be just as beneficial for strengthening my core (also way more fun and much cheaper!)All of the instructors know their stuff and make me laugh, I always feel like I got a great workout while feeling relaxed too. I have only tried the mat/ball classes, but want to check out the reformer classes soon. Book online before you go to reserve a spot and keep an eye out for monthly specials

Jason K. rated 5 stars on 5/30/2019

I was surprised by my fiancé for a date night and we ended up at a dance studio. Alyssa, the owner, made me feel incredibly comfortable even though I suck at dancing. The night went by in a blur and I honestly wanted to stay longer. This was the first of many sessions and I can’t wait to come back. Never in a million years would I expect this to be so much fun, but Alyssa and seeing that smile (AND MOVES) by my fiancé were to die for.

Their classes are challenging and unique every time. Their price are also affordable and well worth the class content that is provided. With Pilates, Dance, Yoga, Hula Hoop, and more, the selection can’t be beat!

Kim Z. rated 1 stars on 10/6/2015

Before signing up for one of their online specials, I decided to take a ride down there to see if it would be some place I’d feel comfortable going to. Uh, NOOO! Could they have picked a more unattractive, uninviting place?? No sign. You’re supposed to go through rear “dock doors” of a manufacturing plant and climb the concrete steps to the third floor. There were company vans from the factory in the back and I didn’t even know where to safely park. Very secluded setup. With the shorter days and approaching time change there’s no way I’d feel at ease going to/from my car or in/out of the place. The Movement Factory needs to….MOVE.

Alyssa offers a wide variety of dance classes for adults that you can take week after week and never get bored. Chen J. rated 5 stars on 5/10/2013

I’m so happy I found The Movement Factory! TMF is a newly renovated and fully equipped studio with a lot of light and a great view in the historic Lake Erie Building. The owner/lead trainer Alyssa is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in teaching fitness and dance. TMF is very affordable and is one of the very few (if not the only) places I found in Cleveland that offer a combination of Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, PiYo, and adult dance classes. The $15 new student pass is a great way to get started and try any class you like in one week (make sure to try Springboard Pilates. which is usually $18/class alone). I have been going to TMF since its opening in February and am really happy with the results.

Kelly B. rated 5 stars on 2/15/2015

The Movement Factory is a hidden fitness gem. Tucked away in a huge industrial building, I’ve probably passed by it dozens of times without even knowing it was there. That finally changed when I had an opportunity to try out their Pound Fitness class. After getting a bit lost in the building, a nice instructor found me and led me where I needed to go. So, tip number one: arrive early, if you’re directionally challenged. Once I found the studio, everyone was super nice and not bothered that I was a little late. Tip number two: you should bring your own yoga mat, but if you forget, you can rent one for $1. The class itself was a lot of fun. I’m not the most rhythmically gifted person, but I kept up the best I could. Also, as someone who does quite a bit of cardio, including Insanity, I expected this class to be a bit easy for me. WRONG! I was so tired out and sore, which is exactly what I want from a fitness class. Can’t wait to check out the rest of their classes!
