This is the best place you can go. I started one month and a half ago in one visit a week I feel so much better Before these visits I was unable to sleep from a shoulder pain and tight muscles.I went to the some of best doctors in NYC didn’t get a good results.A special thank you for Stephanie now I get back to my normal gym routine which includes lifting weights and doing push-ups and having a good night’s sleep. She is very knowledgeable and she knows what she’s doing. I highly recommend this therapist.

I hurt my rotator cuff either lifting weights or just repeating certain exercises, and I was in pain just putting on my coat’s sleeve. I worked with Jillian for a couple of months- meeting with her once a week, and doing her targeted exercises at home. Jillian is incredibly knowledgeable and gave me on-hand treatments – a combination of massage, bodywork and re-adjustement of my shoulder blades and shoulder muscles, including cupping. Within two and a half months my shoulder’s full range of motion has come completely back. I love the intimate studio, the full attention of the PT, the relaxed atmosphere. The House of Physical Therapy has become my go-to place, I recommend it 1000%.

Last summer, I had a pretty bad biking accident and broke my elbow. Having gone there for 2 summers now, and having recently had Dr. Allison Win, I’m eternally grateful for the progress and healing that Allison and HOPT have provided me. I especially enjoyed the personalized, 1-on-1 care, which kept me engaged and motivated to work hard at HOPT and at home. The accident and break were all traumatic for me, and going to HOPT helped me heal physically and mentally. When I followed up with the surgeon a year post-op, she said my progress was phenomenal, and I can feel the results, too. Cannot thank you guys enough!

In December of 2021, I had foot surgery and was told by the doctor I would be able to return to my very active lifestyle within 6 months. Unfortunately, in May 2022, I was still experiencing discomfort in my foot and ankle. The original issue within my foot was corrected by the surgery; however, there were residual effects hindering me from returning to the activities I loved including pickle ball, golf, lap swimming, and jogging. Dr. Stephanie was amazing!! On our first visit she was able to determine the cause of my discomfort. She formed a plan of action that included simple exercises to complete in between visits. By the first week in July I was returning to activities in which I had not been able to participate. Mid August I went to London and Paris, and walked 10-12 miles per day. Without Dr. Stephanie’s help, my trip would not have been as enjoyable. The ease of making appointments with her office staff, especially with Dawn, made attending physical therapy quite easy. Being able to participate via a teleconference made it a no brainer! I’ve attached pictures of my vacation. Thank you Dr. Stephanie! I am grateful to be able to see Westminster Abbey, the sights of London, and the Louvre in Paris pain free.

Jillian helped me my shoulder and elbow. Jillian was extremely helpful with both the initial acute pain as well as teaching how to prevent a re-injury. Previously, Stephanie had helped me with my back, and she is also great. Both truly take the time to listen and understand your situation. In addition, they adjusted the program based on what I was doing on my own at the gym. Unlike other PT clinics, the therapist will focus on you for your whole session. They also make the experience fun by being upbeat and positive. They really try to give their clients the best possible outcome.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at House of PT so far! I’ve met Dr. Shane, who is very nice, but I work with Dr. Jillian Proniwych. I feel fortunate to have come across HOPT on ZocDoc and read wonderful reviews about 1:1 training. I had been referred to a therapist at Mount Sinai who was nice at first, but rushed around the most of the time, spending very little 1:1 time with me directly except to show me the exercise and then only partly watching me perform it. I was on a crowded circuit and knew that I personally needed more individual attention. Enter Dr. Proniwych and House of Physical Therapy. When I emailed Dr. Shane for an appointment with a lengthy email about my dance, yoga and theater background, she responded herself with a recommendation to see Dr. Proniwych because of her background with dancers and Broadway actors. They had appointments the following week and soon I was in for my initial consultation. Jillian listened intently, taking notes in addition to a physical assessment for alignment, any pain, etc. She took her time and I never felt rushed then or in my subsequent visits. She came up with a plan for my treatment and we setup several appointments for the month. We did several exercises that first day and I left with an idea of what to practice, why, and how often. She sent me a follow up email with an exercise guideline and photos too for reference. The studio is clean, quiet and a perfect place for PT. There’s a bathroom with a shower and plenty of room, props, a mirror and really nice mats to work on. There is no one else in the studio at the time (except maybe her very cute, hypoallergenic dog Daisy!) and I love it! For my treatment plan in sessions, Dr. Proniwych begins with bodywork and release techniques. I’ve found these to be incredibly helpful. But in addition, I’ve realized how important it is to do the work on my own between sessions, but this beginning part helps get me ready and reset from my work (or days I’ve missed) between. Then we review older exercises and add on to those. She’s always answered questions and watches my form intently, but gives me space if I need to focus. We chat during the session and she’s super friendly, kind and I feel comfortable with her. As for my recovery, it’s been over a month with about 1 session per week (sometimes two) and I’m feeling so much better than I did! I have days that are better than others but I’ve shifted my perspective, the way I utilize my muscles and even the way I walk or go up the stairs. It’s a process and a lot of work, but I’m seeing noticeable results physical and emotionally too. Walking around in pain all the time is no fun and I didn’t realize how much of a drain it was on my state of mind too. It took me months to find a good fit, but given my experience with Dr. Proniwych so far, I know it was worth the wait.

I can’t recommend House of PT enough! I worked with Jillian to help alleviate a long lingering shoulder issue that was getting in the way of basic movements. I was told by my GP to give PT a shot and if it didn’t work, then we’d discuss surgery. The 1:1 dedicated and personalized experience I got from Jillian was incredible. She’s both incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and informative. She took the time to get to know the details and limitations I had and the tailored and well-explained sessions were always a mix of exercises and soft tissue work. The progress was gradual but consistent until it virtually went away. Once I got better, she then shifted the focus from alleviating the pain to helping me build strength and mobility so that I can workout comfortably (weights, swimming, basketball). I’m very grateful for the experience and dedication she showed me to get back to normal.
Elyse C. rated 5 stars on 5/16/2021
KateLynn was the most detailed, kind, and attentive PT I’ve ever had and I’ve had a ton. I knew I could ask any question and/or bring up any issue and she would listen and have great feedback. So many times with PT’s in the past, I’ve felt they were half listening to me, disregarding pain that I told them I had, or just what I had to say. Not KateLynn. She gets it. She will be focused 110% on you and find a way to help and guide you to recovery. I highly recommend going to House of Physical Therapy for any and all PT needs, and ask for KateLynn. You’ll be happy, actually, make that overjoyed, that you did.

I been working with Dr Shane for about 2yrs now. I started seeing her when I fractured my tibial plateau in my left knee. My treatment plan recommended by the Ortho was initially was to “stay off it and let it heal on its own” she worked with me to maintain strength in my left leg while also helping with the pain. Fast forward a year later, I had to have surgery because it didn’t “heal on its own.” Post surgery she made sure we worked on preventing muscle atrophy during my 8 weeks of total non weight bearing, we worked on range of motion and she helped tremendously with making sure the rest of my body was strong enough to support not using one leg. Today I’m at a 100% and we have progressed to training for a 5K!Something I never thought I’d be able to do again. That said, Im thankful I landed in her care and would absolutely recommend her for all physical therapy needs .

Dr. Shane is professional and has helped me rehabbed my right shoulder after a weight lifting injury. She is great and spends the time working with you one on one and explains what each therapy does and how it works. Took me about three weeks to feel 100% but really glad I went to see her. Highly recommended!

Lol, I can’t help but begin this testimonial with laughter because…?!? It feels like an impossible task to even begin to put into words the kind of experience or impact this 10 series had on me/my life…so impossible it’s funny. I have been in and out of therapy for a decade, I’ve read almost every lauded self-help and spirituality book that exists, but it wasn’t until the sessions Maria helped facilitate did I start to feel like I could actually see myself for the first time….ever! in my whole life. i feel changed. i feel like a me that finally is on her way to a life i knew i always felt could be mine but i felt soooo far away from. and didn’t understand why. and didn’t know how to get closer. maria helps you bridge those gaps. there was and continues to be SO MUCH about myself i didn’t know. it isn’t a cure all, this work is continuous and life long. but i feel like the forest has cleared a bit and i can see a path AND i’m excited to walk it and even tho i am alone, i feel for the first time, capable, unafraid, and excited.i don’t know. if you’re feeling called to this work and you’re looking for assurance that this will mean something or make an impact…i don’t know if i or anyone can really give you that but it meant a lot to me. it made a huge impact on me. i feel closest to myself than i have ever been and this work + therapy has been doing wonders for my ability to show up for myself and create a life i love and don’t want to escape from.

Maria is an amazing healer! I did the 10 series integrative healing and it made a profound impact in my life. I started to suffer from depression in 2021 and it kept on getting worse as the months went by. I’ve never been in that bad of a mental state in my life and I knew I needed help. I sought help from a professional therapist for a couple of months but it didn’t work for me so I eventually terminated the therapy sessions. After that, around February 2022, my internal voice told me loud and clear that I should try out alternative healing, that’s when I found Maria. During the integrative healing sessions with Maria, we uncovered that the childhood trauma I suffered from my mother has been negatively impacting me my entire life and is hugely contributing to the grief, anxiety, and fear that I experience on a daily basis. Knowing that, we did a lot of trauma relief work and with the help of Maria, I was eventually able to walk out of it and heal. At the end of the 10 sessions, I truly understood what it meant to be present in my body and to be in touch with my emotions — something that I’ve always been avoiding subconsciously. Maria also taught me how NOT to be an energy vampire and instead find the power within myself. That was a very hard yet important lesson for me. This healing journey with Maira was not easy. It required hard work and facing some of my darkest fears. But it was extremely rewarding and effective. As cliche as it may sound, but “the only way out is through”.

Let me start by saying this: a little over a year ago, BEFORE starting the journey with Maria, I thought I wouldn’t make it out alive. Life was bleak, and my mental and physical bodies were responding by shutting down. I barely had energy to do much other than binge eat and wallow in confusion, depression, and an unwavering fogginess. A perpetual dark hole.Cut to starting sessions with Maria: slowly, with hard and consistent work (including a lot of introspection and putting new habits into practice), I started to feel lighter, more joyful, and magnetic to joyful opportunities in life. I went from complete lethargy, to moving across continents and exploring new cities with confidence, with joy, a taste for adventure, and my old exuberance back. I was strong enough to set boundaries and reclaim my independence in family, work, and social contexts. I reconnected to myself – and learned more about what drove me to the dark place I was in, as well as how to create a new life that was worth living. This is not easy work. You’re going to have to face yourself, your internal demons, and potentially uncover shadows that you didn’t know existed or worked very very hard to suppress. However, I couldn’t imagine going through it with any other practitioner. Maria’s knowledge is so deep, and so genuine. There is no toxic positivity mindset as is pervasive in this commoditized space of spiritualism. She’s real. She is careful with the speed and intensity at which you progress in the journey. There are no false grand schemes of “buy my services and you will be happy”. Maria never pushed her services on me, which I felt was very important to experience given insecurities around being taken advantage of. She is versatile – in language, in technique, in communication – and it was truly amazing to see just how tailored her care is to each client. It truly is hard to write out in words the impact Maria’s work has had on my life, or the rare beauty of her skillset – a truly truly remarkable one without self-aggrandizing or pushing your limits for results. If you’re curious, I encourage you to try a single session to see for yourself (and be prepared to be blown away). All I can say is this, today I live life with a deep sense of gratitude, an openness and ease of recognizing the beauty of life and all the in-betweens (whether seemingly simple or magical/other worldly in scale), a warmth in my heart and openness to love (my self, family, colleagues, strangers, Earth, etc), new dreams that feel genuine and authentic to me and my younger self, and above all, a will to live. This last part I never thought I’d experience again.Trust your gut & try a session.PS worth mentioning, I’ve complete 2 x 10 series with Maria. The investment was every bit worth it. I’ve also had reiki sessions (again – not imposed by something I felt called to do).

I did two consecutive 10-session series with Maria. TL:DR: I started this journey feeling paralyzed in my life, without hope for the future. With Maria’s guidance, I found the confidence and strength to move countries to start a new, exciting career opportunity aligned with my personal values; and developed greater self-acceptance and love by creating healthy boundaries with my heavily-enmeshed family. I still have more healing and confidence-building to do (lifelong journey) but I now have the hope, strength and confidence to continue this journey. Long review:Words cannot express how much Maria has helped me. At the start, I had no idea how to move forward in my life. I was frustrated with my job and the city I was living in, lacking the confidence and sense of safety & strength to take any risks and explore new opportunities. I truly felt paralyzed and would live through very heavy, depressive episodes. Part of me thought I just had to accept that life is frustrating, and that I would never live my potential and find work that would spark me. On more personal note, I was completely disassociated from my body, was enmeshed with my family in very unhealthy ways (particularly with my mother), always thinking in their terms, and did not love or accept myself unless I was perfect in every way. I could not stand being in my body and could never find real pride in myself. As a result, I spent a lot of time hiding myself from the world, sometimes resorting to binge-eating or shopping to feel any spark. If I did not think I was “thin or attractive enough” to be seen, I would hide at home, and not see any friends. Throughout these series, I’ve had some very tough moments surface and had to swallow some harsh realities, but with Maria’s clear and ultra-supportive guidance, my healing journey culminated in me finally connecting to my body, establishing boundaries with those around me (including family), creating opportunities for myself to explore life, and finally embracing my own self worth. I have never felt more alive, more connected to my true self, and more excited about life and my own potential. In our last session together, I had waves of tingling euphoria throughout my body. It was a wonderful intense feeling that showed me I can feel incredible in my own body – the most amazing way to finish our work together. Career wise, I moved to a new country to start a new job opportunity aligned with my personal values. Maria’s sessions played a critical role in my building the confidence I needed to apply to jobs and prepare for interviews with excitement and hope. Not to mention, the confidence to move to a new country without guilt of leaving my family. It’s extremely important to note that Maria is not there to solve everything for you. This work does require you to be independent, and not depend on Maria for all answers. For e.g. journal, meditate, do some grounding work between sessions. You will need to do this research on your own and experiment to see what techniques work for you. This is a lifelong journey, which can sound discouraging for some, but as Maria pointed out to me early on, the alternative is staying where you are now. Do you really want that? I still struggle today with self-confidence, but I have the power and tools to face my struggles, and as a result, I can dig myself out of depressive episodes faster, and choose to put myself out there instead of hiding. I cannot recommend Maria enough. She is an exceptional talent, the kindest and most generous soul I’ve met. Do not hesitate to work with her!!!

Maria is a one-in-a-million healer and practitioner. The very first session I had with her was one of the greatest gifts I’ve received in recent memory. And our time together has opened a necessary pathway into expressing and processing emotions that hadn’t been aknowledged in me for decades. I can’t thank her enough for this gift. What strikes me about Maria and her work is how it unfolds in a manner that’s truly grounded in experience. It seems to me that we’re living in a time where there’s a growing trend towards holistic or spiritual approaches to healing that promise the allure of touching something transcendent. Yet with this trend comes the danger of a wave of practitioners who rely on cliché or grand platitudes in place of the truly authentic.Maria’s integration of Reiki, crystal healing, somatic therapy and intuition is anything but cliché. There’s a feeling throughout the session that every word she utters comes from a lifetime of truly doing the work herself. She’s able to be effective because she’s been where you are. And she knows how to meet you there in a way that encourages the best parts of you to emerge. The work I’ve done with Maria stands out because of how it opened me to new parts of myself and continues to unfold on a daily basis. The personal insights discovered appear to me in my meditations, in conversation with my partner, and in the moments of everyday life. I see myself differently than I did just a few months ago and this unfolding process will undoubtedly continue over the coming months. In just a few meetings with her I’ve learned so much about the person I am, and for that I’m deeply thankful.

I met this lovely young woman via my own healing practice 2 years ago. it is with pleasure to support those who are gifted and genuine, who I’ve known on a deep soul level.Maria offered me a remote psychic reading this past week, and it was such a joy to receive. she went into what I would call a “story-boarded” description or creative interpretation of a situation at hand. she “dropped in” one person to the picture, and then would “drop in” another person to the picture, to see in real-time what xyz person(s) would do. it was a really cool and expansive way of relating an underlying message to someone. the underlying message for me was along the lines of what I knew, but it also included some comfort of additional details that I did not know. what I appreciate about Maria is the fact that she does a lot of personal work on herself and doesn’t rely on ego to do readings. she is also candid, and will not bend to accommodate what she feels someone wants to hear – at least that is my interpretation. at the end of the day, reading with someone who holds personal integrity is key – more so than the “outcome” of the reading itself. I would also say that giving a reading time and space is important. my bottom line take-away from my reading with Maria was an expanded vision of a situation that I was curious about, and a gentle but important reference to my inner-child and current self in terms of how both elements inter-relate.

Growing up in Japan, I heard on a daily basis, people refer to this mysterious energy called “ki”, and talk about it as if this magical force were as real as our cell phones. I had always loved the idea, and wished that it were true. It was never real for me because I never felt it or experienced it in any way. That is, until I had a reiki session with Maria.I had an injury in my left shoulder that had been bothering me for about three weeks along with a couple other minor injuries in other parts of my body. Maria suggested a remote session. The whole idea of remote reiki session was entirely new to me and was a bit puzzled, but I was pretty desperate at that point, so we agreed on it.The shoulder was aching so bad on the day of the session, I was coming home from work miserable and in half tears. I was told to turn my phone off and lie down, so i did. But I realized that if I turned my phone off, I had no way of knowing how much time had passed, so I got up to turn my phone on airplane mode instead. While I was fidgeting with my phone, I felt a strong pressure on my left shoulder. Not pain, just pressure. I thought may be this could be the sign that the session had started, so I quickly laid back down again. During the session, I kept track of this pressure I was feeling – where and how I feel it, how long it stayed in each part of my body. I traced and kept close attention to the pressure as it moved around between the injured areas, and made a point to remember the movement. I got up only after I no longer felt the pressure. Afterwards, I asked Maria what exactly it was that she did, without saying what I had felt first. I wanted to know that the pressure I was feeling wasn’t just my imagination. To my amazement, what she had described was exactly what I had felt. Everything she said was exactly as I had remembered it – location, duration, order, everything. I would have been amazed if I had felt anything at all from such a distance, but to feel her energy exactly as she intended totally blew my mind. Not only that, but the pain in my left shoulder was completely gone for a whole week and a half afterwards!!It was such an amazing experience, and I am very thankful for Maria, and her power. She is also such a sweet, lovely person too! I highly recommend!

Maria’s remote reiki is NO JOKE.I’ve always been a skeptic–thought reiki worked by power of suggestion– you feel better having someones hands move over you, of course. My remote reiki sessions with Maria have shown me how wrong I was– this isn’t suggestion, it’s very real!Maria is very powerful. She is able to diagnose energetic and physical imbalances with almost unnerving accuracy– from chest pain, to chronic worrying, she can feel what you feel. What’s more, though, she can transform it– by the end of a session, you are returned to a state of bliss.I decided to run a little test– during one 45 minute session, I kept track of my thoughts & feelings, & the sensations in my body. Afterward, I asked Maria for a chronological run-down of what she’d worked on. My notes & hers matched up perfectly.I don’t know how she does it, but it works!

She provided me with spot on insight about my chakras and my body and sent me home with a beautiful citrine! I would definitely go back and recommend.

I know some places that charge as much as this place that tell customers that tipping is not necessary. May I know what is the tipping policy/culture like here?
I can only speak for myself. I’ve tipped 18%-20% for the lympatic drainage massages Judy has done for me. She works miracles!

I am absolutely obsessed with this place. I first came in 2022 when i was having some allergy issues and getting the lymphatic drain helped significantly. Since then based on my travel schedule i have begun regular treatments with Felicia who is wonderful. She is extremely versed in lympathic drain techniques as well as gua sha. Through variations in treatments she has helped me relieve post travel stuffiness, allergies, and some TMJ pressure. Additionally everyone on their staff are extremely professional and kind. The space is always pristine and super welcoming throughout the year. While i have mostly utilized their massage services i look forward to trying more of their services.

I have been getting massages for most of my life, since I was twenty, so for forty-five years. I have had massages in two countries in Africa, in India, in China, in England, Ireland, France, Switzerland and Spain. In many cities in America, Iowa City, San Francisco, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, I’ll include Montreal, The Hamptons, at Gurneys in Montauk, and with about ten different masseurs here in Manhattan. In the past, when I was running a finance company, I was getting massaged three times a week. So I do have a lot of experience as a massage client.I just had a amazing 60 minute massage with Judie, the owner. She was able to instantly “know” what areas needed strengthening and work. Her hands-on skills, her intuition and her energy skills are incomparable. I would recommend Judie to anyone seeking one of the best masseurs in New York and in my experience the world. My girlfriend has just scheduled an appointment with her and I can’t wait to hear about it.The environment was very settled and very peaceful. Just a head’s up, first time clients are charged in advance with an 18% gratuity, which seems fair.

The owner has no clue what customer service is and her basic communication skills are nonexistent! She and her daughter would rather attack customers asking for a refund, rather than actually admit any wrongdoing- even when they were clearly in the wrong and did not give the customer what she asked for. Do better.

Easily one of the best massages at the best price point in the city. Sandra is magical and great at really getting into those knots/tension in your neck/shoulders. The space is also so relaxing and calming, and the rooms are prepared to your temperature preference (I like the room to be warmer and that’s exactly how it was when I came in). Overall, if you need a real massage, Rhemedy by Rhed is the place to go.

had an AMAZING 60 minute Swedish massage with Nagia. Perfect amount of pressure and I felt she could really tell where to focus. spa itself was relaxing, exactly what I was looking for.taking off one star because their own website lists the cost at $130 (see image) but they charged me $146? I asked the person at the front desk why and she just said the site was wrong. I didn’t fight it but I would expect them to honor their own posted price bc that’s a pretty big difference.

If you’re looking for an incredibly relaxing and soothing lymphatic drainage massage, ask for Winston. Convenient location, calming atmosphere and highly talented and professional body experts. Also, easy booking and payment system.

If you’re looking for a place that specializes in massages that truly address aches and pains (vs spa massages that are purely for relaxation), this is it! The space is relaxing and quiet and the massages are out of this world. Marieta gave me individualized attention, using a variety of techniques that I thought were very helpful. I’d highly recommend this place! Only flag is to make sure that the massages are actually taking place for the specified amount of time, versus including the talk time pre-massage.

Wow what a pleasant surprise– rather impulsively I decided to google where I could get a massage today near my office and Rhemedy by Rhed popped up. I read some reviews and decided to go for it! Honestly had one of the top ten massages I have ever had, and I get them frequently (and have had them at some of the top spa’s in the country). I am a massage snob and Nirvana did NOT disappoint!! Going to make this my new monthly ritual– dont hesitate if you’re on the fence!

Local hidden gem. All the massage therapists here are excellent and great for treating desk-job related tightness around the neck/shoulders. I highly recommend their Mind Armour Meltdown massage which is specifically for that!!. Great ambiance, very timely start. I feel very comfortable during my visit during the pandemic as well, with the additional safety procedures in place. The change to the new booking/payment system is also a pleasant upgrade, and they don’t need to call you anymore to verify your card info (which was a bit annoying in the past).

I figured after months since my last review, I was totally open and willing to give this place another chance so that I can update my review to reflect a better experience. However, I received this e-mail from their front desk coordinator, Monica, and it seriously felt like they were essentially trying to bully me to retract and delete my review in order for them to even accept my appointment. I’ve never experienced or dealt with such business practices regardless of the size of the business. Safe to say that clearly I am unwelcomed and I will not be pressured to delete my review that genuinely detailed the experience that I personally had from my initial encounter with them back in February. It’s just really sad and unfortunate overall. I disagreed with their scheduling etiquette and the way they handled the situation back in Feb hence why I posted my review and I cancelled my appt after the lack of courtesy from the owner herself. Foolish of me to think it was just a one off negative experience.”Thanks for reaching out to book your first appointment with us! According to our records, you left a negative Yelp review just prior to the pandemic when we attempted to accommodate your scheduling needs in February, after which you cancelled your appointment again. While we welcome everyone, we cannot accommodate that kind of “jumping the gun” casual action of posting a negative review for a small business such as ours.Should you want to retract and delete the review, we would honestly and happily welcome you back. We recognize that this winter was an extremely stressful time and welcome a difference in outlook from all our clients.”

Chinatown is inundated with massage parlors and acupuncturists. This is one of the best. I’m dealing with this physical condition (which I won’t discuss). Yesterday, I came here for an acupuncture session. During the first 30 minutes, I slept with the needles in my back. When Dr. Huang put in the needles, it hurt like hell. However, once they were in my back, it was soothing. While I layed there, there was classical music playing in the background. After she took out the needles, she put a hot towel on my back. I stayed there for another 10 minutes before the session ended. After the session, I felt rejuvenated.Dr. Huang and her attractive receptionists are very friendly. My insurance covered 7 sessions. Unfortunately, if I want more, I’ll have to pay out of pocket ($90 per session).

I get a Tarot Reading with Barbara every spring around my birthday and every time I am blown away by the amount of information I receive for all areas of my life – physical, professional, spiritual, as well as my relationships and finances. The information Barbara gives me always resonates. I receive new insights into what energies are around me and move into the new year of my life with more clarity. Barbara says she doesn’t predict the future, but during one reading she asked if my roommate was moving out. I said, “not that I know of.” Barbara said she saw that a change was coming and it was going to be good. Little did I know, my roommate was pregnant at that time (she didn’t even know it herself) and moved out shortly after. I got a little anxious, because I needed to find a new roommate on short notice, but remembered Barbara’s words that it’s going to be a good change. My best friend ended up moving in with me and my living situation indeed changed for the better. I would recommend to anyone who needs guidance, clarity or wants to “upgrade” their life to have a tarot reading with Barbara. You won’t regret it.PS Both of my readings were online via Zoom and not in-person. I received recordings of my sessions and was able to watch them again to remind myself of the information I received.

Brian is a miracle worker. I had a major TMJ surgery a few years ago and had recently been experiencing relapsing. I met Brian, through a colleague, and can honestly say that his methods have been much more effective than anything my surgeon and orthodontist have tried to plan. He attacks the problem right at the source and is friendly and very easy to contact. If I have any issues or questions I can email him at he’ll respond within 2 hours. He makes sure to give the most thorough explanation of exercises and treatments you have to do at home and is happy to explain the detailed anatomy and physiology behind each thing you are working on.And it’s not just him! The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and kind. I also had an FMS test done by another staff member and he was very reassuring and made sure that I felt comfortable in performing the various parts of the test. The owner is also extremely friendly as are other staff members. The entire team is great. The place has a welcoming atmosphere thar encourages health and healing. They make it fun.

Chris and his team are great at what they do. Our whole family has come to Physiofitness over the years at one point or another and everyone has received excellent care regardless of which provider they work with. They are talented, hands on and understand how the body works. There is no “one size fits all” solution but a tailored approach based on what’s going on with your body session to session.
Nina S. rated 5 stars on 2/9/2022
Chris is a miracle worker. I went to him with an old injury that has been acting up and he was extremely thoughtful and patient while treating it. I’ve never before seen a medical professional so committed to getting to the root of the problem. Go here! I can’t recommend this place more highly.
Lauren B. rated 5 stars on 12/29/2020
Chris and the entire team are fantastic. The facility is clean, spacious and welcoming and friendly. I’m always taken on time. This is not a typical PT facility where you’re lucky to get 10 minutes of 1 on 1, because the therapist is treating 2-3 other patients at the same time. I receive treatment for the full hour with undivided attention. The teams knowledge of the body is top notch. They understand that when you have a PT prescription for a specific body part, it doesn’t mean that’s the only part of the body to look at. They look at your whole body in order to correct and strengthen whatever is necessary to resolve your issues. Sadly, I have been to many physical therapy facilities over the years and Physiofitness Physical Therapy is a stand out. I highly recommend them for PT and/or training.
Tatiana C. rated 5 stars on 8/13/2019
These guys are the best of the best. This isn’t like a typlical PT-factory where a practitioner is seeing 2-3 patients at a time. Every time I’m there I get sincere, focused attention. What’s also great is they have a major focus on helping to improve any pain, and equal focus on training. I’ve been to many many physical therapists and Chris and his team are the absolute best. Thank you guys so so much for always giving me hope and encouragement, and for counseling me through my pain and recovery. I can’t say enough great things about them, and can’t thank them enough for giving me the confidence and physical strength to get my life back.
Robert S. rated 5 stars on 5/6/2019
I’ve been visiting with the crew at Physiofitness for several weeks now, as they help me recover from a rather painful injury. The treatment they have given me has been excellent. Not only have they helped me tremendously with some related back problems, but I feel like I’m learning more about my own body and how to take care of it each time I attend. Taking what I’ve learned there has changed my workout routine, as I incorporate the stretching and exercises I’ve learned there in ways, which seem truly preventative. As my primary therapist Laura has been absolutely excellent. What I truly appreciate is how Laura and the rest of the team take the time to explain what they’re doing and how it affects your body. This practice makes the entire experience feel much more productive and valuable in the long term. Thank you all!
Stephen F. rated 5 stars on 9/4/2019
Chris and the entire team are fantastic. As others here have said, you get extremely personal attention and care, and you never feel rushed to make way for the next client – his team seems more invested in my getting better than even I am. What’s particularly unusual is that you get innovative, thoughtful therapy, and then work out with a specialized trainer to build up good muscular patterns. Also not to be forgotten – the responsive and helpful front desk!
Agent D. rated 5 stars on 4/18/2019
The Rolls-Royce of physical therapists in NYC: a bit pricey, but an experience unlike any other. They have a pretty unique approach that, as the name implies, is part gym training. In fact, half of their facility IS a gym. Give them a few weeks and they will fix you.
Julia C. rated 5 stars on 7/17/2020
The team is top-notch in terms of expertise, approach and attitude. Chris and Stan are amazing; their knowledge and willingness and ability to assess and address issues really is exceptional – they seem to be encyclopedias of knowledge of the body and physical therapy techniques. They are just experts at what they do. I am going to Physiofitness for physical therapy post-shoulder surgery. I have had physical therapy elsewhere once before and this is such a world of difference. The therapists are in constant contact with my surgeon to share progress and assess my treatment plan. They have cutting edge tools like cold laser therapy that have accelerated my healing. The environment (a loft in Soho) is extremely comfortable and makes it pleasant to be there; I actually enjoy going to physical therapy. The staff and therapists are truly thoughtful and funny people too, and it’s just a great team. I am so grateful my surgeon referred me to Chris and Stan at Physiofitness – could not recommend them more.
Natasha R. rated 5 stars on 5/17/2018
The care you will receive here is top of the line. They have several modalities of care and use any and all of them to heal you. The facility is very clean. There are showers, lockers with keys so you don’t have to carry a heavy lock around, as well as shorts and t-shirts in case you forget yours. They’ve thought of everything. All of the employees are knowledgable and friendly. If you have pain, this is where you want to be.

Ben and Indira are awesome! I injured my shoulder pretty badly while skiing (fracturing my glenoid and partially tearing my labrum and rotator cuff). When I started with Ben and Indira, I had very limited range of motion and simple things like putting on a seatbelt hurt a lot. From the first session, Ben and Indira steadily helped me to improve everything about my shoulder. Working with them, my range of motion has improved dramatically and I’m back to lifting weights and being active again! I’m forever grateful for their patience, guidance, and help! If you’re in the unfortunate position of needing to rehab an injury, this is where you should go.

I had a recent spinal surgery and looked into this place to continue my PT afterwards. I filled out the intake form online with times that would work for me and they called quickly to go over scheduling, which I appreciated. After getting more info, I went over to schedule in person since they’re 2 blocks away from my work. I told them specific days and times that I could do (and not do) and scheduled me accordingly. Easy? Yes. Scheduled correctly? Far from it. After taking all my info and insurance, they still never sent a confirmation of the appointment so I wrongly assumed I was good to go. I get a call the day before my appt. (almost 2 weeks after scheduling) and they tell me I was booked for a completely different time. I made sure to tell them that the person I booked with, who I’m positive was the person who called because she sounded distinctly the same, that they had booked it wrong. No apologies, just insisted that I was wrong. I asked them to remove my info because I will be finding a different place. What a headache!

I called their call center to get more information about the cost of a consultation with one of their therapists. I have a large deductible and I wanted to know how much out of pocket this would cost, I thought that was a legitimate question. It took several calls – more than five – to get some vague answer. I finally asked how much was a session for someone without insurance paying out of pocket: $160The people working their telephone lines are not the friendliest, to say the least. Some of them are frankly disagreable people.I finally made an appointment with a therapist for a lackluster session. I felt from the get-go the therapist wasn’t a 100% with me. May be a bad day at the office? That can happen. After the session had ended, the therapist told me he would email me a description of the exercises he had just demonstrated. 7pm nothing, 8pm nothing. I called the front desk the next day to remind him to email me the description. 7pm nothing, 8pm nothing.I guess it wasn’t a bad day, more like a bad week.I just had another session with a different therapist working for a different practice. It was night and day in terms of involvement and care.I suppose that Professional Physical Therapy chain has gotten to big for its own good. It was started by two Fortune 500 execs. I think that tells you all you need to know about their mindset: profit first, health care is just a sidenote. That’s what you get when big business takes hold of health care.

A great physical therapy and rehabilitation center with an extremely friendly, smart, and helpful staff. I went a few months following my back surgery and have been provided consistent attention and care for my injury. I have been to a handful of physical therapists throughout my recovery and none provided the care and knowledge that Helen has provided to help me with my injury. Helen and her staff are always coming up with creative and helpful ideas for me to work on the help with the recovery process. I recommend City PT to anyone suffering from an injury, especially a back injury. The staff is smart and truly is concerned for the well being of those who come through for treatment.

My experience with City PT has really been spectacular. I had two knee replacements and then a double shoulder replacement on one shoulder. lucky girl! City PT on Baxter St. somehow it got me through it. I have Daniel to thank for bringing me back to mobility after my knee operations (and I continue to make progress.) After avoiding knee surgery for as long as I could, I was very very trepidatious about doing it. Daniel talked me into having a little faith in the process and he really put me back on my feet. Yulim helped me expertly through my shoulder issues after surgery and that was also a great experience. Shaina was wonderful as well, helping me in the long prep for my shoulder repair. City PT was recommended to me by a visiting nurse/PT. How lucky was I that they are just around the corner from my apartment?

I’ve decided to try City PT after I was disappointed with Spear PT, but this place didn’t fit my expectations either. This office has a policy that you must leave the credit card on file with authorization to charge it anytime they want. When I refused they asked me to leave cash to cover possible copay’s in advance for few visits. I had never had this kind of requests in other PT facilities. But the most unappealing was their tier system of services! For what insurance covers you’ll get only 20 min of their services. If you want 40 min or 60 min you have to cough up more cash additional to your insurance and co-pay. Too money oriented facility. I cancelled all my appointments. Though I must admit he therapist Ulin Li was knowledgeable and positive, but that didn’t tip the scale towards using this facility.

The difference between City PT and the larger, fancier establishments, which are good facilities also: There is ongoing attention and considerably less customers for City Physical Therapy to keep up with at the same time.City PT physical therapists work with their customers in a smaller sized, fastidiously clean location with significantly less exercise tables. Unlike the huge roomed, multiple exercise tabled of the more popular businesses, the City PT doesn’t have a multitude of people gathered together in a rush hour type of ambience. You will not get the sense your PT is lost on the other side with another customer. I notice, having had multiple experiences with PT this year, that the exercises are more or less the same. (Although the knee massage treatmet got rid of all the swelling in my right knee collecting there since 2017.)At City PT, the ambience is quiet and not rushed, always with ongoing focus on one patient at a time. Don’t be surprised, when another PT asks you a question, offers a pillow, removes obstacles in your way… They too know you, because they have been watching you and your progress. The administrative staff gets to know you, too; sometimes you will catch them, admiring your progress,There are of plenty of subway lines that will get you to either City PT location.Sign up with them, if you can.

A friend referred me to this practice after I mangled my knee. Location is pretty convenient and they also have a midtown office. The care is great! A combination of soft tissue work or, as I like to refer to it, painful massage, exercises, homework and icing. Everyone I’ve come across is lovely and after 3 sessions, my knee is feeling loads better

Having gone through several injuries and different PTs in the past, I can confidently say that Dan is hands down the best in the profession. I went to him post a shoulder dislocation and with some existing knee pain. Throughout the month, he answered all of my questions and concerns, provided thoughtful assessments, challenged me and made me look forward to each visit as I felt stronger after each session. As a plus, the whole staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They’re also keeping the facility clean and safe, with temperature checks and sanitizing the beds and equipments after each use. Just an overall positive environment and couldn’t recommend Dan and City PT enough!

I love this facility on Baxter St. for PT. Everybody is very friendly and professional. My PT therapist knows her stuff! But I feel they all do. I like that they have early hours which works with my schedual when I worked. Due to the pandemic, they keep all the equipment clean as well. You won’t be disappointed.

I started having PT sessions w Dan at a boutique gym in Queens this week. All of the safety precautions are in place: the hand cleaning, temperature check, thorough sanitation of tools and constant hand cleaning throughout the session. I have an old stubborn tennis elbow and Dan is an expert at what he does. Dan’s work is wonderful. He is precise, patient and persistent with his treatment. Within 2 sessions, I feel like I have more mobility in my arm. It feels like it’s coming back to life! The VIP sessions are great; lots of stretches, manipulations, massages and tips of movement and strength building. I recommend checking out this new method of PT.

Had to go see a physical therapist after herniated my disc, first time was not a very satisfying visit, because the PT worked with three patients at the same time (DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ON FRIDAY), but overall acceptable. What really changes my satisfaction level was the second visit, I was carefully evaluated by another awesome PT Helen, who not only manually relieved my pain, found what the real problem was, which isn’t exactly herniated disc, but a severe muscle strain that associated with it based on my symptoms. Educated me a lot, and taught me more effective exercises to help heal it. I felt very physically relieved after the session and ended up buying their little medicine ball, which I highly recommed purchasing it to relieve some pressure points on your body. Expect the PTs there to be working with at least 2 patients at the same time cause that seems to be how City PT works, but with a good PT, she/he will manage the time with each patient and get you a good pt session, like Helen did. I also want to show big appreciation to their pt aids/front dest representatives Gigi and Jenny, who are absolutely friendly, patient, always smile and working with proficiency by multitasking.

Dear Dr. Kulla, Thank you so very much for your help and support while I was on the 21 day standard process cleanse. I weighed in at 245 lbs. Now I’m 174lbs. I was able to do this within a year, or just over six (6) months,I am so excited about my decision to try the program and the positive outcome I have accomplished with your help. The 21 days cleanse has literally changed my life. I have been able to keep the weight off. I don’t like diets, they have never worked for me, but this program did. I have basically started to examine good food. I love my smoothies, I enjoy greens and luscious salads, salmon, and fish, and oh the fruit never tasted better. There is something though that is funny and kind of weird too. It is that sometimes a certain kind of food (like a cupcake) or something becomes just eye candy. Really, I’m like uh. I feel it, but I don’t feel the need to eat it. I don’t know that’s just me, but how sweet is that! The vitamins and stuff that go along with the program I took. I think what made this program so manageable for me was that I planned it out, my preparation, the planning part is so important. I talked it over with my family. I discussed what I wanted to do. I also tried to prepare for setbacks, when I might feel discouraged. I sectioned out my space in the refrigerator, the cabinet. I lined up my water, got my containers ready, baggies too. This way I could carry my food whenever where ever I went, If needed like in the street with me. I am really happy about the changes in my everyday life due to the program. I just don’t have the food craving I once did anymore. I can’t always have a perfect day, but planning in advance is much easier when you understand how our bodies responds to the food we eat. I am really happy and grateful for this kind of awareness. I think it’s priceless. Thank you, you and your team are the best! L. Scott

I went in with a terribly painful pinched nerve, and after one single visit, came out feeling 10x better! Very happy with Dr Kulla, who is very patient friendly, the office is immaculate, and staff incredibly helpful & friendly! Will be going to Synergy for regular maintenance visits…

Call me oversensitive, but I don’t like being treated as an elderly person. Dr. Dave seems to have missed some sensitivity training when he was in chiropractic school; I let him know I was going to post this to alert those who might not want to be called “old” and “decrepit.” Dr. Kulla is recommending I use a walker, to protect my hips; he says the main cause of death in the elderly are hip fractures, so I’m seeking a second opinion. I feel his recommendation is extreme; I’m older than he is, but I’m not yet 60 and I’m still ambulatory. I’m aware I’m probably even older than his mother, but nobody wants to be reminded they have one foot in the grave.

I’ve been coming to see Dr. Kulla for a few years now and on several occasions he has been a life saver for my back. I really struggle to find and trust chiropractors but his approach is very holistic and he is very knowledgeable. My only struggle is that they’re not in network for a lot of insurance companies so I would double check this before booking an appointment but the quality of care here is excellent from my experience and worth every penny

Shady practice setting up an appointment. Tried to push out of network, when in network was available. Tried to mislead the price that in network would be, when all the details are available on insurance card.

I just started going to Dr. Kulla, so far he’s been great super thorough and he really takes the time to work on you. I still need to continue my treatments but feeling better slowly. His staff is also very helpful and accommodating!

Dr. Kulla is a really great practitioner. I always feel better after getting chiropractic adjustments. He also gives you advice on exercises and ergonomic adjustments so his approach is holistic. He cares about your well-being. I no longer go because he does not take my insurance but I did have positive experiences when I was getting treatments.
Junior P. rated 1 stars on 12/27/2021
The negative reviews are SPOT ON: 1) He has toxic outbursts (“YELLING”) 2) He pushes expensive treatments 3) He has obvious contempt for the elderly. PLUS…he unloads his personal issues while working on patient.

A few weeks ago I pulled my back and decided to see a chiropractor. Thankfully a co-worker highly recommended Dr. Kulla’s office. From my first appointment to present date my experience has been amazing. Dr. Kulla is passionate about his craft, is extremely knowledgeable/skilled and has the best bedside manner! Samantha, office manager, is a sweetheart and just as pleasant as Dr. Kulla. If you’re looking for a chiropractor don’t look any further and quickly schedule an appointment with Synergy Wellness. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!Kudos to the doc and Samantha …
