No quick in and outs here. Along with an adjustment you’ll get hands on stretching/ messaging, exercises, stim with graston. Great people! No long waits

First appointment alone completely changed the level of pain I had in my neck and shoulders and entire back. Literally unreal. Like I’m shocked. So glad this was the first place I clicked on when I googled chiropractor. Called them and I was able to come in the same day AND they took my insurance. Crazy. Never happens like that lol. Also everyone who works there is sooo friendly. Awesome place will be back often.

I really appreciate so many things about this place. I have a chronic shoulder injury that I am pretty frustrated with. I’ve tried everything I can think of on my own, so I went to Yelp to research neighborhood PTs. PPMC had good reviews and I could schedule online. Right there I was impressed. I didn’t have to jump through tons of hoops, leave messages, wait days etc.. I scheduled on a Sunday and was in on a Monday. When I arrived, I was able to easily get street parking out front, and they had quarters inside to feed the machine when my time ran over what I expected. The facility is clean, bright and modern. The person at the desk was welcoming. I loved the music. They had bottled water and coffee. It’s the little things. Finally, and most importantly, I really liked Dr. Jio, who I worked with that day. He listened and I feel, got me started down the path to healing my shoulder.

I highly recommend Dr. Foltz, who diagnosed my chronic headaches and relieved me of them in just 5 visits/adjustments. Great, friendly staff, too.

I have been going here on and off (mostly on) since 2017. It is the facility my surgeon recommended after hip surgery. I have worked with a few different therapists. However, my current physical therapist Alex is phenomenal. The facility is very nice, but it can get loud and crowded at times. Plus the bright lights can be a bit much. They do have a smaller gym and private rooms when necessary though. However they have any equipment you could want which gives you lots of options for rehabbing from injury or surgery. They even have a pool for aqua therapy. The therapists are knowledgeable and will work to find something that works for you. They also will ask someone else there if it’s a tricky situation where something isn’t working. Most of the aides are very nice and will help getting equipment you need, guide you through exercises and help keep the place clean.Physical therapy is something that you hope you never need. However, if you need it, this is the place to go.

Really as good as it gets.If you are looking for a physical therapist in Pittsburgh go here. Do not pass go, just go straight here.I went here for several months for a sports injury and was to my surprise fixed up right as rain. Based on the seriousness of my injury I thought I was done for for good. This is a reveiw of the facility located at the Sports Medicine buildingThese people know their stuff. This facility is top notch, the equipment is top notch and so are the therapists.I never had a late appointment. My therapist gave me all the attention I could ever ask for.
Mackenzie C. rated 2 stars on 8/12/2012
Although the staff are very nice and the facility can accomodate a lot of people at once (ease of appointment times), I must say I was not thrilled by this place. The physical therapists are helpful, but compared to other places, are not attentive enough because they are often seeing many patients at once. I thought the service was very good until I visited other physical therapists that give much more one-on-one time and assess your progress much more closely.Example: I was often left to do my stretches with the therapists mostly coming back to give me something else to do. Besides asking how I felt from time to time, they did not reassess my abilities to walk or stretch as other therapists have. How do they know what is working if they don’t assess your progress?

I have been doing Pilates for about 10 years, all mat classes, and I absolutely love it. I decided to start working out at Moxie, to add resistance and to mix some things up to my repertoire. Boy am I glad that I did ! Aubrey is absolutely amazing and such an expert in Pilates ! She has helped me refine my form and technique, so much that I’ve seen great improvements in not only my mat work but in my everyday life. I am much more aware of my posture, such as how I stand and the position my shoulders are in – the little things that matter so much !If you’re looking for a fantastic Pilates instructor, I highly recommend Aubrey !!
Sarah N. rated 5 stars on 1/7/2015
I am relatively new to Pittsburgh and was cautious and particular when seeking out a Pilates studio specifically downtown. My Pilates instructor in Las Vegas asked a few fellow former NYC Rockettes she knew that live in the Pittsburgh area on where I should go downtown for Pilates and both said MOXIE.Although there are group class options at MOXIE, I personally only take private instruction. As such, I was very glad to find myself working with Aubrey at Moxie (owner and instructor). She is the real deal on “classic” Pilates instruction. Having worked with her now for several months, I know I am in great hands. Despite having done Pilates for many years and maybe having done more advanced contemporary instruction for the last many years, I feel as if Aubrey has brought me back to the basics and I am getting stronger and better by concentrating on the fine details of form that many miss in the basics or forget after many years. She keeps it fresh, is fun and is great with the minute details of verbal queuing.Aubrey is good at her craft, continues to further her expertise and skills through continued instruction herself and has a genuine interest in my overall wellness. I would happily refer Aubrey and MOXIE to anyone who is interested in Pilates. Moxie has several instructors and class options available. The studio is located directly above Nola in Market Square downtown.

Wowza. Thanks to Yelp intern Jackie for putting together an amazing afternoon at Moxie! I went in with, I guess you could say, “low” expectations. I’d taken a handful of Pilates classes in the past, but have always preferred the kick-boxing and spin classes of the world over the yogas and Pilates, minus a regular stint in the hot room at Bikram Yoga (sounds pretentious). BUT, I arrived on a beautiful Sunday afternoon with an open mind and I’m so incredibly glad I gave it another try. First, Aubrey and Cecile know their Pilates – there’s no doubt about that. My crew was interested in the history of it all and they gave us a brief, but interesting explanation of how Pilates arrived on US shores many years ago. We moved from history straight to the mat work, which I was secretly dreading. I hate anything to do with abs. Hate it. I don’t have any; it’s as simple as that. But it’s not just abs. And before I knew it, these two had slowly coaxed all of us into various roll up and roll downs – and guess what? It wasn’t AWFUL. It was actually pretty nice. We split into two groups from there and took a turn at the machines, which I also really enjoyed. I think I gained about two inches in height to my 5’4″ frame during this visit and hope to return again for more. Who knows – I might find my way into the Olympics by playing center for the US Women’s Basketball Team in 2016!
Nicole T. rated 5 stars on 10/17/2014
As a long time Pilates student, I cannot endorse Moxie and the fabulous instructors here strongly enough! I’ve been healthy and fit and I’ve been injured and struggling while working here and at every stage I have found Aubrey, Cecile and all of the instructors to be amazing at helping me regain my strength and mobility. Rather than letting me dwell on where I am struggling, they help me to focus on finding my strength, not just focused on ‘doing it’, but doing it RIGHT! If you want to learn how to make small corrections that help you to make huge gains and to supported while also challenged, you won’t find a better place to do that than Moxie!
Kim H. rated 5 stars on 10/13/2016
I have been going to one on one Pilates sessions here for about a year. The instructors are so great about working on my particular issues. A few months ago I thought I was going to have to have back surgery, but between Physical Therapy and Moxie Pilates I am so much better and with much less pain! I walk out feeling taller and more centered. I think I’m a lifer!
Julie H. rated 5 stars on 6/19/2012
Moxie Mind & Body is a great studio. They specialize in classic pilates and have all of the equipment in a clean, bright studio space. All of the instructors I’ve met are very friendly and well trained. I’ve tried pilates most places and Moxie ranks right up there.

Misty and co. are still kicking my butt! I love the new Barre classes and Misty’s constant evolution as an instructor. I visit often from the west coast, and notice that she is always on the cutting edge of the practice, incorporating new “toys”, techniques, and tricks to ensure that every class is working the whole body. The new Shadyside studio is awesome, with tons of brand new equipment and a huge, bright studio space! This is still the best Pilates studio anywhere–including California. Sorry Ellie Herman.

I’ve been to the “Orbiting the Mat, Suspension Style” class multiple times now through ClassPass and every single one has been great! The instructor, Chelsie, is super friendly and makes the experience feel personalized. The studio itself is beautiful and clean, with a nice view of Walnut street. A great low-impact full body workout!

I was interested in taking my first Pilates class. I reached out to get information and I was told I had to take a private session first. I booked a private session and the team there was very nice and accommodating. The workout was good for a quick learning session. I’m not leaving a bad review bc more or less I should have asked more questions. The mandatory private session cost me $75 because I wasn’t willing to buy a $345 package that day. If I would have know a mandatory private session was $75 I wouldn’t have booked the session. Lesson learned, facility is very clean and staff is very knowledgeable – however the prices are incredibly high.

Have been a client for about 2 years now and I can’t say enough great things about Dragonfly Pilates. Classes no matter which one you take, are always fun and great work outs. My favorite, Barre class, is one of the best overall workouts. Misty is fantastic and and my favorite instructor ever! She is always watching for correct form and offers encouraging words to novice and experienced Clients alike. I have been to both studios and they are bright, clean and equipment is top notch. No better Pilates studio anywhere in PA.

The personal touch—-At Dragonfly whatever your level Misty and TrAcy never treat you like one of the crowd. You receive individual attention, respect for you and your body and what is needed for Y O U, your age, health issues Etc. Since I started taking classes at Dragonfly, my balance, mobility, and flexibility have improved tremendously.I’m a “senior citizen”—-though I do wish there were softer words for this challenging, amazing time of life—I need all the help I can get to keep strong, balanced and a smile on my face. Over the years Misty has often used the phrase “with grace and dignity” .I am happy to be living these words thanks to Misty and Tracy helping me find the right answers to my many challenges

I would give pure barre 10 stars if I could. I love this place so much, it is practically my second home. With a variety of 3 different barre classes, pure barre is a workout for everyone of all ages. Some are in their teens while other superstars are in their 70s. Pure barre is the only workout I have stuck with for so long. At over 800 classes, I can testify it works! I am a better more confident version of myself since coming here. What do I love about purr barre? Well, the workouts are great and exciting. I love switching it up between classic, empower and reform. It is always a challenge. They have some of the best playlists and lets not forget about all of the awesome retail. The instructors and desk workers are fantastic. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Each and every class, the instructor walks around the room multiple times to correct your form to make sure you are getting the very best of your workout they encourage you to drop your seat a little lower or make your heels a little higher. They call everyone by name, which I love. Class times are offered every day, almost all day, making it super convenient for anyones schedule. As for the others who attend these classes, they are truly wonderful. I have made so many friends since coming to pure barre. It is a community of amazing women. Thinking about giving it a shot? You absolutely should! With many different membership and class pack options, you’re guaranteed to find the right price for you. I would recommend pure barre Mt Lebanon to everyone! A workout that works & you have fun doing, it while making friends & wearing the greatest attire. What more could you ask for?

Not sure why it has taken me so long to review Pure Barre Mt. Lebanon! When I’m not going out to eat and getting cocktails in Pittsburgh, I also enjoy living a healthy lifestyle and working out! I have been a client of Pure Barre Mt. Lebanon for a few years on and off and it is by far my favorite workout ever! The atmosphere inside of Pure Barre is super clean and welcoming. It even smells amazing for being an exercise studio. They also have super cute apparel and accessories to purchase in their front room- which is fun & dangerous! Aside from the aesthetic of PB, the staff is amazing! I have had a number of teachers and they are all so helpful and nice. The staff here makes this workout even more enjoyable than it already is. Now let’s get to the important stuff.. the workout. Pure Barre is unlike any other workout and is truly a game changer! Because of my work schedule, I can’t make it to class as often as I would like but when I do go- I am sore for days! The changes I have seen in my body (and mind!) from Pure Barre are astonishing! There are a few other Pure Barre studios around Pittsburgh if you don’t live near Mt. Lebo- I promise you one thing- Pure Barre will change your idea of working out!

Jill’s an amazing instructor! They have classes almost all day everyday so it’s super convenient for everyone especially those with hectic schedules and have kids. I go every Wednesday Thursday and Sunday mornings!! I can’t get enough.

take a class with Jill! It’s fun and you can be at any level to take this class – they make you feel welcome if you’re new and jill is the best! (but they’re all nice) I was surprised by how much I ended up sweating and how sore I felt the next day after the first class but you feel super great after doing these classes. Bonus – the first class you take is free! Also, if it’s your first time, don’t wear shorts – your knees should be covered basically due to the moves in class.
Tricia L. rated 5 stars on 5/15/2015
It’s surprising that I’m the first person to review Mt. Lebanon’s PB. Not that they need Yelp; classes there are often packed and need waitlists!I am going to copy and paste my review from PB Pittsburgh in 2013, because that’s how consistent the PB experience is….”Pure Barre, you are the best.I just finished my new client special of one month unlimited classes at a discount. And man, after less than three weeks into it–what’s that in the mirror? Definition!? Muscles changing!?If you’re like me, you won’t understand the rationale of sweating in $80 pants and a $50 shirt. If you’re like a lot of the other clients there, you’ll look super, super cute and trendy while exercising. Either way, it’s fine. Be happy you are getting a workout that is effective. The results are where most of the motivation comes from. I can tell you–as a non-athlete and a pastry fiend–Pure Barre will improve your physical fitness quickly, even if you’re like me and can only hold a position for 20 seconds at a time. The rest of the motivation comes from instructors that are helpful and encouraging, perfectly tempo’d music, and the fact that each exercise lasts for mere minutes, so you’re always almost finished! The whole hour flies by.Pure Barre gets 5 stars from me because it’s a 5-star service, no question about it. However, unless you can attend a “Breaking Down the Bar” workshop (there wasn’t one offered during my month), you will only learn the technique gradually. This can be frustrating because you want to get the most out of your investment. Still, it’s not a huge deal because it’s a great workout regardless, and the instructors will answer any questions you have and correct your form. I suggest trying a few classes with different instructors because they each have their own style, though the classes themselves are all very uniform. So glad Pure Barre came to Pittsburgh [Mt. Lebanon], and so glad I discovered it!”My only critique is that I wish there was more emphasis put on modifications for varying experience levels (not only to accommodate injuries, pregnancy, or special circumstances, which they gladly do upon request). It varies by teacher, and some are really good about it, but I would like it if modifications were consistently suggested. I only buy packages once or twice a year, so I am always “new” and that can lead to unnecessary back/neck strain when trying to hold certain positions without an existing foundation of strength.Anyhow, everyone should try Pure Barre! It’s pretty great!

Holy amazing work out! (and by amazing I mean butt kicking!)I was not really sure about the class, but a friend convinced me to go try it. I am a gym rat, I admit. I am usually in the back with the “big boys” lifting weights and sweating. This workout is way more calm, with lighting changes and good tunes playing. The workout is way less jumping and big movements. It is a whole body work out and the next day you BURN. (in a good way) My abs were sore, my butt was sore and I loved it. If you havent tried barre, I highly recommend. The instructors are very friendly and walk around a lot to correct your form, which I appreciate. They answer questions at the end of class and will talk you through any difficulties.

Pure barre Mt. Lebanon is amazing! The classes are great and very effective! The staff & trainers are all so friendly and helpful. I was a beginner with no barre or dance experience prior to joining in October! I absolutely loved coming here and loved all the promotions and contest they did! The instructors are very supportive, motivating and made working out enjoyable!

Alexis is amazing. I am from out of town. But that didn’t stop her from taking great care of me…She really puts her heart and soul into her massage. I left feeling wonderful. I think it was the best massage I ever had. Please don’t hesitate making your appt with her.

I am someone who gets massages on a fairly regular basis that are always good, but Alexis sets the bar for a massage therapist and just a human being in general. She has unbelievable technique and skill that you cannot just learn. I will be visiting her every single time I am in town! Best massage I have ever had!

Can’t say enough about the team at Manning! Nick, Joe, Linda and Pat have all been fantastic trying to get me back on two feet ( literally). There is no judgement – just support and encouragement! I decided to go here because I wanted to go with a small business – not affiliated to a hospital – but also have had many family members and friends go here over the years who had successful results and loved this group too! From day one – they took the time to understand my injury and goals. Nick put together a plan that I could tolerate based on my existing restrictions but enables me to see progress over the weeks (the much needed light at the end of the tunnel I needed to start to see). You have to put the work in and you will see results. That includes what you do at the facility as well as what they recommend to do at home and trackable via an app.

Just wanted to thank everyone for taking such good care of me. Patrick, Linda , Joe and Mary Beth were the best! It was a hard time but they made it easier for me. And I will always appreciate what they did for me. And I recommend this place 110% they are the best!!!

I found this office on the internet. very glad I did. pat and his staff have been fantastic from day one. everyone seems to truly care about you and your progress. all my questions were answered with patience and I was never rushed. I had tried a local chain therapy center and after three visits I felt it was a complete waste of time. I would recommend manning p.t without any reservations at all. thank you pat, linda and joe . bob woppman.

I was originally seeing another physical therapist in the area who would have me complete one exercise in the office and send me away without any exercises to do at home. I am SO happy I finally found this office. I have had knee and wrist pain for about a year, but I am finally feeling better now that I have started seeing Dr Manning.Dr Manning is very knowledgeable, and you can tell he truly cares about his patients . Dr Manning and his staff spend adequate time guiding you through exercises and stretches in office, giving you additional exercises and stretches to use at home, and using adjunctive equipment (like electric stim, ice packs, taping, etc) as necessary. I highly recommend Dr Manning for anyone seeking a physical therapist.

PHI Makes Fitness FUN!I started taking Bounce (mini trampoline/rebounder) class here about a year+ ago & absolutely love it. It’s truly like recess for adults! The instructors are very friendly and super high energy. The facility is large with big windows – bright & airy!Best of all this studio focuses on proper form & alignment, so regardless of what class you are taking (a fitness class, Pilates, Yoga, etc.) you will always be working on ways to stretch & strengthen your body without the worry of getting hurt.
