No quick in and outs here. Along with an adjustment you’ll get hands on stretching/ messaging, exercises, stim with graston. Great people! No long waits

First appointment alone completely changed the level of pain I had in my neck and shoulders and entire back. Literally unreal. Like I’m shocked. So glad this was the first place I clicked on when I googled chiropractor. Called them and I was able to come in the same day AND they took my insurance. Crazy. Never happens like that lol. Also everyone who works there is sooo friendly. Awesome place will be back often.

I really appreciate so many things about this place. I have a chronic shoulder injury that I am pretty frustrated with. I’ve tried everything I can think of on my own, so I went to Yelp to research neighborhood PTs. PPMC had good reviews and I could schedule online. Right there I was impressed. I didn’t have to jump through tons of hoops, leave messages, wait days etc.. I scheduled on a Sunday and was in on a Monday. When I arrived, I was able to easily get street parking out front, and they had quarters inside to feed the machine when my time ran over what I expected. The facility is clean, bright and modern. The person at the desk was welcoming. I loved the music. They had bottled water and coffee. It’s the little things. Finally, and most importantly, I really liked Dr. Jio, who I worked with that day. He listened and I feel, got me started down the path to healing my shoulder.

I highly recommend Dr. Foltz, who diagnosed my chronic headaches and relieved me of them in just 5 visits/adjustments. Great, friendly staff, too.

Misty and co. are still kicking my butt! I love the new Barre classes and Misty’s constant evolution as an instructor. I visit often from the west coast, and notice that she is always on the cutting edge of the practice, incorporating new “toys”, techniques, and tricks to ensure that every class is working the whole body. The new Shadyside studio is awesome, with tons of brand new equipment and a huge, bright studio space! This is still the best Pilates studio anywhere–including California. Sorry Ellie Herman.

I’ve been to the “Orbiting the Mat, Suspension Style” class multiple times now through ClassPass and every single one has been great! The instructor, Chelsie, is super friendly and makes the experience feel personalized. The studio itself is beautiful and clean, with a nice view of Walnut street. A great low-impact full body workout!

I was interested in taking my first Pilates class. I reached out to get information and I was told I had to take a private session first. I booked a private session and the team there was very nice and accommodating. The workout was good for a quick learning session. I’m not leaving a bad review bc more or less I should have asked more questions. The mandatory private session cost me $75 because I wasn’t willing to buy a $345 package that day. If I would have know a mandatory private session was $75 I wouldn’t have booked the session. Lesson learned, facility is very clean and staff is very knowledgeable – however the prices are incredibly high.

Have been a client for about 2 years now and I can’t say enough great things about Dragonfly Pilates. Classes no matter which one you take, are always fun and great work outs. My favorite, Barre class, is one of the best overall workouts. Misty is fantastic and and my favorite instructor ever! She is always watching for correct form and offers encouraging words to novice and experienced Clients alike. I have been to both studios and they are bright, clean and equipment is top notch. No better Pilates studio anywhere in PA.

Dragonfly is an amazing place. Susie and her team are the best in class. They are kind, caring, and will help you get the best workout you’ve ever had. If your suffering from an injury they will teach you how to do exercises most appropriate for you and your body, I highly recommend them to anyone most especially those new to pilates as I was when I started with them last zMsrch, 10 stars from me! I am a new woman thanks to Dragonfly:

The personal touch—-At Dragonfly whatever your level Misty and TrAcy never treat you like one of the crowd. You receive individual attention, respect for you and your body and what is needed for Y O U, your age, health issues Etc. Since I started taking classes at Dragonfly, my balance, mobility, and flexibility have improved tremendously.I’m a “senior citizen”—-though I do wish there were softer words for this challenging, amazing time of life—I need all the help I can get to keep strong, balanced and a smile on my face. Over the years Misty has often used the phrase “with grace and dignity” .I am happy to be living these words thanks to Misty and Tracy helping me find the right answers to my many challenges

I highly recommend Touchstone Pilates. I have been a client since Touchstone Pilates opened. Because I had been having problems with lower back pain and general lack of flexibility, I wanted to find out whether Pilates could help. IT HAS HELPED!! I am more flexible and able to do exercises that I thought my body was not capable of. Plus, I feel great! Lisa varies the workout at every session and knows when to introduce more advanced exercises. Lisa Pellow, owner, is a wonderful instructor – very concerned about her clients’ well being.
Cheryl E. rated 5 stars on 3/4/2018
This studio is excellent and provides true classic Pilates that was developed by Pilates himself and promoted further by his student Romana. Lisa Pellow is an awesome instructor as is her staff and very in time to modifying exercises to fit physical limitations!
Kathryn Ann M. rated 5 stars on 10/13/2019
If I could give this studio more than 5 stars, I would. I came to Lisa after two failed knee surgeries. Over the course of a few years, I had seen multiple surgeons, more physical therapists than I can count on two hands, several Pilates instructors…you name it…and I still walked with a limp and struggled walking upstairs. 5 minutes into my first Romana’s Pilates session, I knew I had finally found the answer, and I would someday feel the joy of being athletic again. I’ve been working with Lisa two times per week since March 2019 (I drive in from Cleveland, OH). By August, I was able to bike in the Peddle Pittsburgh charity cycling event. What’s more, my gait is starting to normalize, and I’m on my way to walking with ease. Words can’t express how much gratitude I have for Lisa and the Romana’s Pilates method. It is unlike anything else I’ve ever done. And I’m so thankful that Lisa decided to dedicate herself to carrying it forward. She has truly helped me return to my life.
Silvina S. rated 5 stars on 5/8/2014
Lisa Pellow is an excellent teacher. After nearly two years working together, I have made tremendous progress. I am affected by an auto immune disease. Lisa is very patient with me, respecting my limits, but also challenging me to do my best. The studio equipment is spectacular. Finding a professional like Lisa and a well equipped studio like Touchstone Pilates is unique. Not only do I enjoy Pilates but it has helped me more fully enjoy life.

I literally cannot say enough great things about solid core! the team at the strip district are exceptional, create an environment where you feel welcomed and encouraged, challenged in the best possible way and truly motivated! Claudette is my girl! She is by far my favorite. She is incredibly motivational and encouraging. I know when I take her class I am going to be challenged both mentally and physically in the best possible way. she truly is everything you want in a coach!
Wenxin L. rated 5 stars on 5/7/2023
I realized I’ve never rated this place although I’m a regular. This place marked my journey, I first started solidcore in nyc. Still remember when I thought to myself I’m never going to come again after the first class because of how hard it was. Woke up the next day and saw ab definition for the first time in my life and have been going ever since.Pittsburgh solidcore is very different from nyc vibe, I see a lot of regulars during my class hour and I’ve got to know some of the coaches. Everyone is so friendly and it truly feels like a community here. It is more encouraging than the nyc solidcore where everyone just went and get the workout done. Also, the price is much cheaper in Pittsburgh than nyc. Sticking to this class is the best thing I’ve ever done. I recommend either trying one class or do their 2 week unlimited deal to start, there’s also a discount once you’re done and I’ve been having 8 or 4 classes a month. This is one of the only workout classes with the immediate result, you’ll see your ab definition so soon. There are not that many workout that targets only core. I’ve found this to complement my gym routine so good and once my core got strong my back never hurt again. It is definitely hard but so worth every penny and sweat.
Victoria W. rated 5 stars on 6/27/2023
Holy macaroni is this workout hard!! My friend brought me to this workout to try it. I work out 6-7 days a week so I would consider myself in shape. This was such a good workout that I was shaking. I love that feeling! The only thing I didn’t like was how loud the music was. I had a hard time understanding what the instructor was saying. I can’t wait to go back!
Ashley S. rated 5 stars on 5/18/2022
I really love this workout class! I have gone about 7 times now. I first tried Solidcore when I lived in DC and I didn’t really get into it. Now I usually go once a week! I always feel so great after the workout and sore the next day! The instructors are all great and so nice. they blast music and turn the lights low for a great workout vibe. It is a great place to try if you want to get into Pilates or just workout classes in general! Most of the workout is ab focused, which I like. They also keep the studio very clean.
Rachel M. rated 5 stars on 9/10/2022
Toughhhhh. I exercise pretty much every day — yoga, cycling, lifting, walking. That said, this workout left me sore for several days in the best way. If you’re looking for full-body strength training with a focus on core, this is the place.
Brad H. rated 5 stars on 4/29/2020
The best workout I have ever done! I have been doing the classes for over a year now and love coming back every time. The instructors are all so friendly and personable. They motivate you during class and push you to keep going. Class times are flexible and can be made to work around any schedule. The workouts themselves are different than any other I have done. The lights go down, the music goes up, and you go nonstop for 50 minutes. You slowly work and push until your muscles literally fail. Really hope the studio can open back up soon! The only negative review on here makes absolutely no sense. The music level is on par with any other workout class. Regarding the lights, if you think the lights are too dark to see what you are doing, you should probably not be operating a vehicle to get there, because you need your vision checked. The max class size is 12, and they are often smaller. Unless you want a private class (which they offer), I am not really sure how you could get more of a personalized experience. The machine is not difficult to use at all. As for getting into the studio, you receive the door code to enter the place when you sign up, so that is literally never an issue.
Sarah S. rated 5 stars on 1/25/2019
Very, very early this morning I took my first solidcore (Pittsburgh) class. I am insanely sore, but I have to say, if you’re willing to challenge your entire body you will thank yourself for taking this class. Every muscle in your body is worked and you sweat beyond belief. In 50 minutes, you can already feel the difference. I almost cried during the oblique workout, but honestly I now understand how everyone who does this has a rockin bod. It’s a slowwwwwww workout for a reason. So, do this if you can!
Meredith A. rated 5 stars on 2/19/2019
This is one of my favorite workouts. It’s not easy. You will be pushed and your body will shake but you will see results! I’ve been going since the studio first opened in mid-October. I even quit another studio in order to offset the cost – which it’s not cheap. Pluses: they are on ClassPass, there are only 13 machines and the instructor knows your name and offers everyone adjustments and encouragement throughout class, you will swear shake and see your body transform. I workout every day and go to a lot of places around the city but am so happy that [solidcore] is here in the burgh! Oh definitely watch their YouTube first so you know what the classes entail and there are Beginner classes on the schedule.
Abigail C. rated 5 stars on 10/9/2020
This workout is so good, but the coaches make it better. Trained professionals who want to motivate you to be the best you can be physically, What’s not to love when you are the beneficiary of the great coaching.
Breanna N. rated 5 stars on 7/25/2019
My favorite place to workout in Pittsburgh! I started going to solidcore when I lived in DC and was thrilled to find out a Pittsburgh location was in the works. This is the hardest workout that I’ve ever done since ending my career as a collegiate swimmer. No other workout has challenged me more or given me amazing results like this one. If you’re bored by your current fitness routine, definitely give [solidcore] a try.

I came here after a car accident caused some back and leg problems, and–as you might have guessed from the rating–this place was instrumental in my recovery. Now, I could talk about the speed of my recovery (way faster than I expected) or the things I can do now that I couldn’t before (with which I impressed even myself), but honestly, I’m not qualified to evaluate the competence of healthcare professionals. My injuries may have been so easy to treat, anyone could have done it. Or I might be back up and running today solely due to the brilliance and dedication of my physical therapist at NovaCare. I’ll never know. But I can report good results, and I can recommend this facility for other less-sciencey reasons as well.1.) The therapist I worked with, Matt, was extremely easy to work with. He was helpful, attentive and specific. Also, somewhat confidence inspiring. And he’s got an awesome first name, but your own mileage may vary on that one.2.) I received a lot of good information and feedback, from both Matt and from the office. I felt like I had enough information to make intelligent choices about my own care, and I felt (and still feel) like I know what to expect going forward and how to respond.2a.) My physical therapist was especially good at communicating the information clearly, and providing a lot of helpful context as well.3.) They’re not afraid to say “I don’t know.” A lot of healthcare professionals don’t like to admit that outright, but when I asked a bunch of questions about other potential actions I could take, one of them was met with a very honest “I don’t know. I haven’t read any good medical studies on the effectiveness of that option in cases like yours, so I can’t advise you either way.”4.) It’s easy to schedule appointments; they were even understanding about a last-minute change. And, being part of a large network of NovaCare facilities, I was able to make a last-minute change when something came up despite the office being closed (someone at some other location just changed the appointment for me).5.) They have this really cool magic machine which made my back cold then tingly then hot, and through the miracle of science it made my muscles feel better. Yay!All in all, I’d definitely recommend this location (and Matt in particular) to anyone in need of physical therapy.

While this studio surely is clean and aesthetically pleasing, Betty Jo is the reason I drive over an hour each way multiple times a week to Core Pilates. As an instructor, she not only expects my full effort but is also patient, accommodating, and kind. Her style of teaching brings out the best of my abilities while allowing for adjustments when necessary, and I always leave Betty Jo’s classes feeling refreshed and energized. Her knowledge is seemingly never-ending, and I am overjoyed every day she offers her class. I am grateful to have found her–if it weren’t for Betty Jo, I don’t know what I would do!

PHI Makes Fitness FUN!I started taking Bounce (mini trampoline/rebounder) class here about a year+ ago & absolutely love it. It’s truly like recess for adults! The instructors are very friendly and super high energy. The facility is large with big windows – bright & airy!Best of all this studio focuses on proper form & alignment, so regardless of what class you are taking (a fitness class, Pilates, Yoga, etc.) you will always be working on ways to stretch & strengthen your body without the worry of getting hurt.

I’ve been having lower back pain and a chiropractor told me to get a deep tissue massage. Yesterday was my first time so I was hesitant and didn’t know what to expect but Stephania was very thorough and knowledgeable which made me much more relaxed and comfortable. Although I felt awesome afterwords, it wasn’t until today that it really kicked in how great I feel. It has been incredible noticing how often I used to wince in pain when I would bend over. I feel like a new man today! Not just the fact that my back doesn’t hurt (which I’m still getting used to) but that my whole body and mind just seem much more in tune with each other. The whole experience yesterday was just as mentally therapeutic as it was physical and I think that’s why I’m showing such good results. Stephania’s massage therapy did wonders for me and I would recommend her to anyone.

Here from San Diego lots of pain, visited Stefania and really got some relief. She is an excellent massage therapist as well as giving me helpful advice for the pain.

I recently arranged for an in-home massage session with Stefania for my wife as a birthday present. Stefania arrived on-time at my home and within a very short time was all set up. After a brief, pleasant chat with my wife and I, they began the 90 minute session. My wife had nothing but good things to say about Stefania and is planning to set up a regular schedule. All in all, Stefania was very easy to work with to set-up the in-house session and then gave my wife a wonderful massage.

I enjoy supporting small and independent business owners with my time and money. It is easy when service providers where I leave the transaction feeling energized. Stefania has a wonderful positive energy. I have been a regular customer for years and highly recommend her.

I’ve had a handful of amazing massages with Stefania. She has the perfect touch; not too strong and not too soft (but leaning a little towards the stronger side). Her massages are very relaxing, and I’ve fallen asleep every time. Her rate is super affordable for first-time massages – $40 for 1 hour!!! She’s located on Penn Avenue, close to the Target store. She’s a really cool girl to talk to as well, and I highly recommend giving her a try!

Stefania is awesome! Massages with her are wonderful. She spends time talking to you, and has a good idea of whats going on with your body before the massage.I run a lot and that comes with its own stresses and strains. She being a runner understands what exactly you need and works well with how I feel. The place is clean with lovely ambience. I have been going to her for almost a year now, and I have no reason why I would think twice about going there next month again . .and again!

Had a great massage! The studio off Penn Avenue was a bit hard to find, but pleasantly surprised once I found it. Very clean, calming space. Stefania was very thorough for my massage. She spoke to me before to learn exactly what I wanted for concentration areas. I was surprised she went over the hour I paid for, most massages I have ever got ended on the minute! I plan to be back soon.
