I have known Fritha for over 15 years and she is one of the wisest, most conscientious and committed people I know. She speaks about her Feldenkrais students with great respect and concern and she continually studies and strives to be the most exceptional practitioner she can be, I know several people who have worked with Fritha and I regularly hear them singing her praises. She has helped them to improve their posture, balance, strength and ability to move with greater ease. My own personal experience with Feldenkrais has also been very positive; a workshop that Fritha sponsored has improved the way that I walk and go up stairs. This has resulted in significant improvement in a knee problem and greater confidence that i will remain strong and mobile into my old age. Thank you Fritha!

I had never taken a Feldenkrais class before, and I was really curious about it. Fritha was my first Feldenkrais facilitator, and I signed up for the entire session after just one class! She was incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate, and I felt very safe and comfortable during the class. She was very patient when any of us asked questions or for clarification of a movement. My body always felt very grounded and calm after each class. I highly recommend her classes!

I want to compliment Studio Helix for offering the Pilates classes taught by Bob Hannum. I recently saw Bob’s Pilates videos online and became one of his students. Because my health and conditioning improved so much, I wondered where Bob taught live lessons. Turned out he taught at Studio Helix in Northampton, MA. My hat is off to residents in that area because they can get a good teacher in the flesh, while I live in Los Angeles and can only replay his videos over and over. Students wanting a good Pilates teacher can get one by visiting Studio Helix and signing up for Bob Hannum’s classes. He’s got the Pilates principles insight, pace and movement training, experience with students at all levels and abilities, and expertise to win my trust and confidence as a continued student. I do Pilates for me, but would go to Studio Helix for the live teacher experience and group motivation. If you make the effort to get to the studio and take B. Hannum’s Pilates class, don’t underestimate the value of teacher observation and feedback in your learning process, especially when students doing physical exercises can be off or develop little bad habits. To be able to follow his pace is another benefit of being there.

I had a fantastic massage here with Liz Rose. It was incredibly relaxing and I felt very comfortable with her. She took into account my lifestyle and exercise habits and was able to tailor my experience to fit my needs. I left feeling relaxed but also refreshed. I recommend her all the time, and everyone I send to her goes back again and again.

This is a follow-up so you need to read my earlier review. My elbow has been feeling much better. I have not have to wear an elbow brace to do the same exercises that I do in my gym regularly. His advice worked well. It, not only, diminished the pain in my elbow but the pain has not been coming back or increasing. The pain has been constantly decreasing.Pain relapse in my elbow had always been a problem. My past providers, except my PCP/ortho doctor who was a big joke, would do ultrasound and soft tissues in my elbow and arm. The pain would subside but they would all come back after a few days, some longer than others.Dr. Brady was the only one who did not even touch my arm or my elbow in treating my elbow pain (official diagnosis of my pcp/ortho was right medial epicondylitis). He worked on my chest muscles and posture to address my elbow pain. To him, my elbow was not the problem. To him, my elbow was telling me that I have problems somewhere else.My knee has also been constantly improving ever since he taught me how to walk and stand properly — again, it was the posture. My back is the only one that has been a bit stubborn (like its owner) but it is also improving. The stretch exercises that he taught me for my back complements well the back stretches that Matt Shaw of the BU Athletic Enhancement Center taught me. The combined stretches from these people seem to be the best fit for my back problem (hopefully) currently.I like the fact that he is a very approachable person. He does answer my questions via e-mail on his own time (without additional charges or complaints from him).
Kate P. rated 5 stars on 10/28/2013
I have taken pilates instruction from many teachers. Bob is great. He makes it fun as well as challenging. He is happy to explain anything and to help you modify for what your body needs at that moment. He is knowledgeable and yet wants to keep learning and introducing new stretches and exercises into the routine so it is always varied and interesting. If you like good classical Pilates, this is the best class around.

I had a great experience with Barbara Dolan here – went in with lots of leg & hip pain, piriformis syndrome or something similar, Barbara cleared that up and pointed out that I needed to address developing scoliosis and did preliminary treatment for that plus a personalized exercise program. Barbara was GREAT to work with – knowledgeable, clear, easy to talk to. Scheduling was never a problem. I felt very well cared for.

I have been participating in PureBarre for two years as of last week. I go once a week, it’s what I have available in time and money. I am almost 60 years old and could write a list of all the various “OWWww that Hurt!” opportunities life has afforded me. It ain’t easy. Suffice to say that in two years, I have been altered. Significantly. I can access muscle groups and move in ways I Never Imagined Possible (really! I can do sit-ups now!). yikes! Only took 50+ years to be taught to Work Around some core weakness and learn to access other ways. I’ve participated in almost all the class formats at least once- my favorite is Align- I love the smoothness of flow, the focus on breath, the real challenge of the balance work. But each format has a unique sense of accomplishment associated with it- try them all!Thank you, Pure Barre and all those who hold that space each week with me where we breathe, connect, and tone, and burn. Yep, even in Align we shake and burn! Enjoy!

Ah, PB. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways..I’m not much for working out solo. I won’t push my self as hard nor am I good at finding different ways to work my muscles. This is where Pure Barre comes in…The women who run this spot are sweet. And the teachers are, too. Cara, at the front desk, has remembered my name since my second visit.Shannen, Andrea, Denise, Shaina, Lauren, and Missy are the bomb.Shannen teaches and runs the studio. She offers a really challenging class and is always happy to help with any issues that may arise outside the PB studio.Denise has such a consistent class. She doesn’t do a lot of flashy, trying-to-be-difficult postures. The challenge in her classes come from small tweaks that REALLY get into the muscles. I love her classes!Andrea is also challenging. Her Empower class will leave you with sore muscles for days. Her Restore will do the same. Plus, who can resist her Classic?Lauren’s personality really shines through in her classes. She’s a fun teacher while also coming up with challenging sequences.Shaina can really throw down in a classroom. She’s physically petite and small so you’d think she’s just going to be really sweet but then you see the muscle definition in her arms and you realize she’s going to kick your ass. Ha! She’s great, too.I’ve only had one class with Missy but it was really a challenge. She really kicked my butt and she seems super friendly, which is an added bonus. The classes are low impact. They are designed to allow you to participate to whatever degree you choose depending upon injuries, etc. And it’ll give you a good butt. No, really. The pricing is the only thing I don’t enjoy. It’s so high, especially for being a small town. But studios in NYC charge much more than they do here so it’s all relative? There are discounts available for students, first timers, etc. so it’s still manageable. So, all in all, come check out Pure Barre. Challenging classes, great teachers, and you’ll love the new definition in your butt after a few weeks. They’ve got new student specials so check those out to help relieve the burden of a high payment:

Using my sister’s Google review here: I’m giving Pure barre NoHo a 3.5-4 Star review. I’m a client of another Pure Barre studio (been going there for over 2 years) and I always like trying out other studios when I’m traveling. Let’s start off with what I liked: the music selection was good, I knew the choreo, the equipment was mostly set up for class already and in designated spots so no fighting for a seat, the studio space felt clean and organized and there was definitely a sense of a community. Some confusing parts for me were: first, I showed up early figuring I’d need to sign a waiver, as standard practice across PB, but that was never mentioned. Not even after class and they were focused on getting the next class in so I didn’t bother asking. Second, I told the receptionist I’m very well versed in PB lingo, but I wasn’t the only new person. The instructor didn’t come over and introduce herself, learn our names to give us shout outs (there were very few shout outs), show anyone what the proper forms were before or during class and even afterwards, then she said she was available for questions and then disappeared….maybe at my studio these are just suggestions but it really helps me as a client feel appreciated and make me want to come back. This last confusing part isn’t as concerning as the first two points but I figure I’d mention: the instructor didn’t really keep with the beat nor during seatwork did she stay on the same side of seat. There are two exercises for seatwork and you generally stay working on the same side to really fatigue that side. We started on our left for the first exercise and then did the second one on the right. Okay, maybe that was just an oops. Later on, everyone was on the wrong “leg” and the instructor kind of brushed it off and said to work on whatever side you’re working on. Hmm. That didn’t feel like a clear instruction; I also felt like there weren’t clear instructions on how to do the exercise properly without hurting yourself. Again, I’m not an instructor but I’ve taken enough classes to know that if I look around and see a bunch of people straining, that’s probably not good. Overall class was alright, but I was a little disappointed that I didn’t feel welcomed and that what I thought were industry standards clearly weren’t here. Maybe it was a new teacher? Maybe it was an off night? I’m not an angry customer looking for a refund, I’m just trying to point out that there are some, what I think, are serious issues that if fixed, could make this studio really great. I’d be happy to try this studio again in the future!

Took a class at this Pure Barre location when I was in the area to see old friends. I was running late to the class, and front desk staff was very accommodating, which I really appreciate. Studio space is airy and modern, and very spacious compared to some of the other Pure Barre I’ve been to. Water fountain is available too, always a plus! There’s a parking lot behind the studio for 1hr free parking. Class is fun & fast paced, I went on late Friday afternoon so it was a very small class. Instructor helped correct my form and was very helpful. She did not demonstrate all the moves though, wish she did because kinda took me 10 seconds to understand what we needed to do.

I’ve been here a bunch of times throughout the school year (I’m a Smith student) since they opened last year. I’ve been to Pure Barre in other cities like Raleigh, NC & Philadelphia, PA & Palo Alto, CA. I’d say that the difficulty level here is lower than any of these other Pure Barres in larger cities. I honestly like the community at this Northampton location the best because it’s not as intimidating or scary. Everyone is really welcoming and the instructors are all generally great. Love this place and wish I went more often (it’s hard to walk all the way over there from Smith’s campus in the snow).

Great instructors and class community. Clear instruction throughout the class so even if you’re new to Barre you can jump in! Form correction also given so you’re not at risk to injury and additional instruction and help is always available. Fun challenges throughout the year as well. Great workout for everyone!

I tried my first Pure Barre class in Northampton after 3 months of Bikram yoga (5 x week) for lower back issues. I couldn’t believe how fun and quick a Pure Barre class was. It’s difficult but, the class is fun and goes by fast. Classes have a great range of ages and abilities and there are lots of modifications. I have liked all of the instructors, who regularly checked in with my during my first two weeks of class. Both instructors and staff have been supportive and helpful! The studio is very clean and has two large bathrooms. I’ve been trying to get everyone I know to go! 100% recommended.
Liz S. rated 5 stars on 7/12/2017
I couldn’t agree more with the other reviews but want to add that I am almost 60 years old and had been taking 800 mg Motrin every morning for my lower back pain. I worked out regularly doing hot yoga, spin, boot camp, weight lifting as well as snow and water skiing but still needed to take OTC pain medication. After the first month of Pure Barre it occurred to me that I no longer needed pain med! I don’t need to lose weight, and haven’t lost weight, but I noticed my cloths seem to fit and look better. I am on my 3rd month and have completed over 75 classes and recently my husband commented on my “Pure Barre ledge” LOL. I feel stronger and more energy and seriously look forward to this kick-*** class!
Laura F. rated 5 stars on 6/29/2017
I’ve absolutely fallen in love with Pure Barre! I’m finishing up my Intro month and I’m excited to continue classes next month. I think it’s an awesome and effective workout. In a little under 1 month I’ve seen so much improvement and I look and feel stronger. The instructors are so helpful and friendly and make class enjoyable. The studio is nice and clean. Front desk staff is always nice and friendly. The bathrooms even have hairspray and makeup wipes. Parking is super easy and free, which is a huge draw since it can be hard to find a spot in Noho. Love it here and am so happy to have discovered this awesome workout!

Taylor was amazing! It was my first float and I was a little nervous. I received a 60 minute float as a gift and was excited though a bit hesitant to give it a try. She clearly explained the process and made me feel comfortable during my stay at euphoria The float experience was so relaxing. I loved having a private room to enjoy my float in. The music was so soothing and the customizable lighting was just what I needed. I choose a lavender color and I felt so zen.Thank you Taylor and Euphoria for an amazing first float 🙂

What a magical place! I won a very generous gift basket from Mom Prom a few months ago. I decided to use my gift certificate to get a deep tissue massage. I always have something misaligned or tight in my lower back so just asked Ashley to focus there. I could literally feel my back muscles release and my pain stop. So impressed and will definitely be back!! Also…I am loving the avocado face mask!!!

AVOID THIS PLACE!This was advertised as a relaxing experience but it was anything but that. The spa attendant never explained that the facility didn’t operate as designed. The intercom didn’t work, so you couldn’t communicate with the front desk. The speaker system didn’t work so I basically tried to float while listening to my cell phone speakers. The water was Luke warm, the jets didn’t work, and the towel was dirty. The lights were finicky, and again– the attendant ignored my calls for help (given the intercoms were broken, I had to scream, but no one came). There was also weird construction happening in the closet of the facility. I would NOT recommend this to anyone. Advertised as a great experience but save your money on an experience that actually works…

I’ve only ever been here once, and have only done float therapy this one time, but man was it an enjoyable experience! It took me a little while to shut off my brain and really lose myself in the experience of the sensory deprivation but once I did, I felt so much weight and anxiety feel like it was melting off me. By the end, my mind was clear, and my body felt refreshed. There were no aches or pains in my body and my mind felt free and full of positive hopefully energy. It was definitely a unique experience. The float ranks reminded me of a fairly large shower stall that slanted down to towards the back. There was a floating neck brace to stabilize your neck in a comfortable position. You can do complete darkness and silence or lights and music and any combination in between. The staff the day I went in was only one young woman at the front desk who was extremely friendly and helpful and made me feel more comfortable about this new experience I was trying. She was very encouraging and made my initial nervousness of trying this wear off a bit. I very much look forward to trying this experience again in the future and think it was well worth the price of $80 for the hour.

I bought gift certificates for my daughters to float. Plan ahead if you want to float at the same time, 2 weeks suggested. The spa was relaxing with beautiful decor, tea, and coloring. Staff was very helpful, offering music options, earplugs, toiletries and towels. The experience is very individual due to sensitivity to lighting, darkness, smells and being alone. Such a great opportunity to help with relaxation, anxiety, depression and grief.
Erica L. rated 2 stars on 12/12/2019
This is a review of the float spa. I will start off by saying I’ve been to other float/isolation tanks in different parts of the country, so I actually have something to compare this place to. I feel like I wasted some money in buying a package for four floats here. First of all, they charge a higher rate than other float tanks I’ve visited. Yet the tanks are not as relaxing. The water felt cold against my skin, and the air felt humid. The water seemed to get colder over the course of the float. It made it hard to relax. At other places, I was able to completely zone out, but not here. Something felt off. After giving it a shot twice, wondering if it was just me, I tried to set up a third appointment. I was told that it was too late to do the third and fourth float, the package I bought had “expired”. Yet, they never disclosed that there was an expiration date when I bought it. I would have at least used up the floats before they expired, had I known. I had received zero documentation of the gift card purchase, and when it expires, other than a basic credit card receipt. I even checked my emails for some kind of sales confirmation, and I had no emails from them either, even though I had provided them with all of my info (including email and phone) when I bought the package. I asked them if they’d be willing to let me use the last two floats, and management’s response was that they would only approve one float. I had already paid for two more floats, but that’s all they would allow. Needless to say, my third float was not much different than the first two. Not impressed with this place. And not just because they’re rigid, but because it was objectively not a great float experience. Sorry, Euphoria. I wanted to like you, since it’s hard to find these establishments on the east coast, but it just didn’t compare.

I went in with my daughter for her 18 birthday. This was inarguably a huge moment for us, and I decided to commemorate this huge step in our lives as my daughter gets ready to fly off into her adulthood. I bought is both a peice of jewelry, one being a shattukite ring that was 175 dollars. Within two days the stone had fallen out of its sterling silver band and had broken like chalk.I called the store immediately, and they said that they would not be able to take a return, or refund or exchange my money in anyway

I spirit crystals is a good witchy gem shop for kids that love geodes, and witchcraft stuff. I went in with my dad and everything in there was really high quality stuff but everything was also way over priced. I bought a ring with a a purple crystal inside of it and it was tiny enough to fit my finger and the lady told my dad that he needs to buy this ring for me, so he said ” how much is it” she said it was 59 bucks. He ended up buying the ring, I fell in love with it and never took it off. I had a really weird experience with it after a day or two I was in the bathroom with my mom and I looked down at my ring and it was BLUE!!!!!!! I told her and she thought it was blue before but it was purple as soon as we stepped out of the bathroom it turned purple almost immediately. And it still turns blue when I’m in a yellow light, but when I’m under a white light it’s purple. I’m a dancer and they have yellow lights in my studio and it’s always blue when I’m there so I’m thinking it is yellow light today I’m going there to find out. But other than the overpriced cheap items this place is a really great place. I hope you have fun to going here if you end up coming. Have a great rest of your dad!

Beautiful selection of items and a cozy environment.. my go-to spiritual shop. Items can be a little pricey, but the quality is definitely there.

Love coming in here, and love that they support local artists who make oracle decks! I bought the Black Cat Oracle Deck here and though it was a little pricey I felt good knowing I was supporting a local artist. I also love their crystal display and how it’s organized by color. It makes it super easy to browse and find what I’m looking for.

I felt a sense of well-being the moment I walked in … between the incense, the meditation music. They have high quality wares (and I walked out with several of them), although their “crystals” — what laymen would call “polished minerals” — are as overpriced as such things usually are in such shops. Prices are indeed high, but the selection is broad (and this is Northampton, after all, not a town for bargains), and while they do indeed peddle something for many a New Age taste, the place is far less kitschy than others with a similar business plan. The staff was perfectly polite and entirely accommodating to my needs and questions, even though I visited during a Noho sidewalk sale, and the place was jammed. I wonder at all the reviews claiming that staff was “rude,” and wonder if it’s just that New Age shoppers are more prone to being Shopzillas than most, demanding that staff kneel before them and kiss their feet.

This is a great little shop, pricey as others noted and I can’t speak to their readings but they have a vast selection of many things from angel and tarot cards to varying books on astrology, Tao/Dao, Goddesses, Reiki, Mindfulness, Angels etc. and an abundance of statues, crystals, trinkets etc. As someone who frequents similar stores when I travel this store has a great deal. I like how with almost every crystal there is info on what it is used for, most stores do not have this and it makes picking the perfect stone for you that much easier if you aren’t familiar or feel called to a particular stone. You could spend hours in there, I have!

The store has a lot of very cool stuff, although a little pricey. I had a reading on the spur of the moment when I stopped in one day. The reader was very nice, but when someone starts a reading with “I’m not very clairvoyant. What do you want to know about?” I question the $40.00 a half hour fee.

The staff here are aggressive and discriminatory, merchandise is overpriced. You can find better quality items for cheaper on Amazon and not have to deal with harassment

Katrina (from the Pilates Studio) is a highly skillful and experienced Pilates instructor. She is very knowledgeable in her field, yet able to explain things to others in simple, easy to understand language. As a result she is now a respected trainer of other Pilates instructors, many of whom she employs at her center. I have come to know a couple of her instructors quite well and they are, without exception, wise and wonderful women!Katrina is warm, approachable and empowering in her approach to Pilates. I know several people who have done ongoing work with Katrina and have had excellent results with their physical issues. I also know a local chiropractor who regularly refers clients to Katrina because she is able to further the healing that he begins.I highly recommend Katrina and any of the instructors at the Pilates Studio that she employs.

By far the best pilates studio I’ve been to. Its a beautiful, welcoming space with state of the art equipment. And the instructors are fantastic. Katrina is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the human body and how it moves. I’m looking forward to returning!

After sustaining an injury deep in my hip at the gym I developed chronic pain and discomfort in my knee. Three months of twice a week PT did not help, and the PT agreed I should try Pilates. One session with Katrina and something had changed. After 2 sessions the pain was gone. I have now been seeing her regularly for one and a half years and together we explore how my body moves and I feel strengthened and more confident. Katrina is curious and kind and brilliantly smart!

Best Pilates studio in the valley! Exceptional instructors who make classes fun. And more and different ways to get fit and stay fit like Oov and Runity (you’ll have to try a class to learn more).Classes are offered throughout the day and evening and on weekends so it’s easy to fit one in your schedule. You can also do independent workouts or small groups if those work better for you.

I went to The Pilates Studio for a meeting. Katrina ended up putting me on a couple of the machines just to show me around the studio. Fifteen minutes later and my shoulder, which had hurt for over a year, was totally pain-free and moving like nothing was wrong! Holy cow.I’m now a regular and I love it. I’d done mat classes before and thought I wasn’t crazy about Pilates. Now I call it ‘Adult Jungle Gym’ time! Love love love it!

I like the Pilates Studio a lot. I’ve taken multiple Pilates classes here. The only cons are that the space is small and the price for classes is large. However, I do believe it’s worth the price if you have it.

I started taking mat classes with Katrina and found her to be a wonderful teacher who was able to make me feel comfortable and relaxed while at the same time encouraging a challenging workout. I loved how I felt after every class! I recommend The Pilates Studio to anyone looking to get into pilates!

Physicians couldn’t care less or don’t have the training if you have a difficult case. If your doctor should leave or retire they assign you to a physicians assistant because they don’t pay well enough to hire or retain Good doctors If you try to call to make an appointment plan on spending at least 30 minutes on hold. When you finally connect and if you tell the receptionist you’ve been on hold that long they will get very snarky with you. I was released from a hospital a few weeks ago. Hospital told me to call my primary care doc for an follow up appointment within a week. I called the day I was released. After a 35 minute wait ( I was sucking oxygen and still quite sick) I explained everything to the receptionist who Laughed at me stating. “We’ll never get you in to see your doctor within a week, she’s much too busy! But we can have a P.A. See you”. I asked her to put me on the waitlist Well I’ve been out of hospital for 6 weeks and still have not received a call or appointment!! I’m still seeing two different specialists referred to me by the hospital so if I was called now I would tell them to go fly a kite!! Please don’t put your trust or health in Valley Medical Groups hands.

Avoid VMG if you have any measure of self-respect, especially if you are a person of color. Choose elsewhere. Before I get into the details as to why you should avoid Valley Medical Group, let me begin by offering you some alternatives:* Northampton Family Practice – (413) 584-2178* Atkinson Family Practice – (413) 549-8400* One Medical – onemedical.comValley Medical Group is not a good medical practice when it comes to its primary care team, the core of one’s healthcare. I can no longer, in good faith, recommend that anyone consider entrusting their healthcare to this medical group. I was a patient of a fair-minded doctor for more than a decade who provided adequate and reasonable care, but above all, the provider I worked with previously was thoughtful, respectful, and collaborative. Upon my physician’s departure I began to experience a very different side of this practice when I transitioned my care to a couple of other primary care providers on staff, which is not unlike the other reviews you will encounter about the practice group. Because I believe there is value in being pointed and specific, I will share my experience in hopes that it will save a prospective patient from entering into a relationship with a practice that does not seek to serve them well. Following is a letter (see images) I directed to Valley Medical Group’s practice manager reporting my experience. While I was informed that this issue would be taken up with the provider in question and that Valley Medical Group would follow-up with me, no such action took place; I received no follow-up. When I received outreach from an independent, non-profit measurement and reporting group requesting me to report to them my experience with Valley Medical Group, I contacted VMG to inquire as to whether this was the follow-up I should have expected to receive from them. I received no reply. I will let you draw your own conclusion about what this practice’s and its employees’ actions suggest and signify. From: VMG PatientSent: Monday, May 31, 2021 2:33 PMTo: Practice ManagerSubject: RE: Following upHello, [Practice Manager]. Thank you for your outreach. I’m writing today to share with you an unfortunate and disturbing experience I have had at Valley Medical Group with my care provider, [REDACTED]–an experience that can be identified as terrible at best and perilous at worst. As I prepped for an upcoming visit, which I have since canceled, I reviewed my provider’s care notes from our October visit and discovered that [REDACTED] wrote that I “[REDACTED].” This statement is not only inaccurate and unacceptable but outrageously dangerous to women and people of color. As a person of both demographics, I am disgusted at the lack of perception and awareness of the gravity of this care provider’s actions. Or, perhaps this was [REDACTED]’s intention and agenda. How can I know? As a white [REDACTED] care provider and myself a woman of color, how can I know that [REDACTED]’s interest is to serve me well when it has come to light that there is documented evidence in the medical community today that more often than not, healthcare providers neglect to listen to people of color, especially women of color, and consistently miss the mark in providing consistent and comparable care as is offered to their white counterparts? To paraphrase John Hoberman, it has been shown that doctors have imposed white or black racial identities upon every organ system of the human body, along with racial interpretations of black pain thresholds, and other aspects of black minds and bodies. According to Dayna Bowen Matthew, “over 84,000 black and brown lives are needlessly lost each year due to health disparities: the unfair, unjust, and avoidable differences between the quality and quantity of health care provided to Americans who are members of racial and ethnic minorities and care provided to whites. Health disparities […] principally arise from unconscious racial and ethnic biases held by physicians, institutional providers, and their patients. Implicit bias is the single most important determinant of health and health care disparities.” Even if it wasn’t [REDACTED]’s intent to create this situation, intention and impact in this circumstance are not the same things; [REDACTED]’s decision to choose to behave as [REDACTED] did leaves me misrepresented, underserved, and violated. This behavior shows me that there is a lack of awareness (intentional or otherwise), which needs addressing. Being a care provider requires cultural competency, which is something I observe to be lacking. (See images for the rest)

My husband has a potentially broken wrist. Called yesterday and confirmed there was a walk in clinic here. They said he could come in if he made an appointment after 8am today. They don’t open until 9. Called and a made an appointment for 11:30 today and confirmed all details over the phone only to arrive and be told because he doesn’t have a primary care physician at that clinic he can’t and won’t be seen. MAJOR PROBLEM HERE. HOW DO YOU TELL SOMEONE WHO IS INJURED THAT, YES THEY HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AND YES THEY ARE IN YOUR SYSTEM BUT NO, YOU CANT BE SEEN AT A WALK IN CLINIC. Horrible horrible horrible service, people and overall practice here. BEWARE.

I took day off for a follow up appointment for my mother after she was in the ER. I had proof on my phone I had called them for the scheduled appointment, but they apparently didn’t enter it to their system. Accommodating a patient in their waiting room was difficult for them. They seemed to be more interested in having their lunch than seeing her sooner, and only offered that they might try to squeeze her in “sometime in the afternoon” – indicating it would be many hours later. I ended up taking her back to the ER as she was having continuing symptoms. They are able to see her way quicker.

Deserves less than 1 star. Decided To call and get an appointment for a therapist after struggling recently and they shared all ofMy appointment info with my mother (I am 23 years old) even after I called FOUR times to have them update my info to ONLY have my phone number and email on file. Then the therapist recommended a physical to rule out other issues. The nurses said I had to have a chlamydia vaccination because it wasn’t on my file (they have been my family doctor since I was 8 years old). Completely unbelievable experience won’t go back.

I’ve been here for urgent care only, on the weekend. They are fairly good about getting you an appointment, but run behind schedule. That seems to be the standard for Valley Medical. Once you’re in, it’s a rush to get you back out with a “Check in with your regular doctor,” and you’re on your way again. Seriously considering going elsewhere, but healthcare in general seems to be deteriorating in this area, so I’m not really sure where to turn.

This review is for one doctor; Jennifer DePiero. She should not be practicing medicine. I went because I was having pressure and clicking in my ears. She asked me if I was being treated for anxiety, had I tried mindfulness, and had I spoken to a psychiatrist before doing any physical exam. She insisted that my problem was anxiety and actually wrote in her summary “patient denies increased anxiety” and “is on multiple medications” she stated that we had spoken about bipolar disorder which we did not. She not only treated me like I was crazy she suggested it in the visit summary so now I have that in my record. Like I said, I went there because I was having a problem with my ears. She also stated that my symptoms were “not a problem”. It WAS a problem because it was causing me pain and discomfort. I was not only not helped by her I was actually hurt by her slander. If I could give her a negative rating I would.

Wish I could give less stars. They need to get it together, very unorganized and don’t seem like they know what they are doing. Went in to get contacts and glasses told me I needed my old contact prescription before they can do anything. Fine. Not even sure if they have updated it to current by this point of the exam. Went and got my last prescription brought it back, then it came to actually ordering the contacts. I was asked if I wanted just what my insurance covered or go for the whole year. I usually do the whole year to make it easier and don’t mind paying the difference, then the guy tells me are you really sure you want the whole year. I was like yes. He comes back with well some people can get more than six months out of the contacts if they wear them longer than a month….. so by then I was like just order the six months I’ll just come back some other time and order the other six months which I didn’t really want to do. Well contacts come in different brand and old prescription. They just copied it without testing my eyes and how do you get the brand wrong when you literally just throw a current date on my old prescription? So now I have to make yet another trip back. Needless to say closer isn’t always better will be going back to my old eye dr and won’t mind the travel.
