Adam is the best physical therapist in KANSAS!! I was in an awful car crash and my whole right leg was decimated–shattered pelvis, femur, knee, calf…everything!! Not only do I walk completely normal but I do it in 5″ heels (even with the rod in my leg) thanks to the INCREDIBLE therapy I got from LMH at Rock Chalk Park. Definitely go here if you want a full recovery in no time!!!

I’ve had problems with my back for my whole life along with some other various sports injuries. I’ve been to many Physical Therapists over my life and when I finally came to Neu Physical Therapy, I was so happy and relieved! They offer great business hours, as early as 5 am (for people who have to work all day). The staff is VERY nice, and my therapist was very kind, listened to all my problems, did amazing work with me and also offered many new techniques and exercises that I could do on my own that I never knew before. The facility was very nice with the exercise area and the pool. Compared to the other physical therapy clinics that I have been too in the past, Neu P.T. was definitely the best. I was very pleased! Highly recommended!

They are the best! Most Doctors just give referrals and pain meds. These people actually fix you and coach you on how to take care of your body

Dr. Kayser and Dr. Kayser both have adjusted me. I always feel so much relief after their adjustments. I highly recommend this clinic.

I’ve had sciatica for a few years and have been to many chiros and doctors trying to address my constant and nagging pain. Joe was the first person to really understand how the muscle, bone, nervous system works that creates the problem. After some manipulaton, He then trained me in some tremendous exercises that for the first time really addressed my issue. Not only did he treat my problems but gave me a very specific tool kit that I can use to make sure I stay healthy.
Myranda Z. rated 5 stars on 2/10/2019
I wish I went to Dr. Joe 9 months ago when the pain started. Expert in his field, extremely professional and a true healer. Immediate results. Stop suffering and book the appointment. My agony could have been eliminated if I would have just found Dr. Joe sooner. My lower back pain was never going to just go away like I hoped. Dr. Joe has full body techniques that are not just a quick fix. He teaches you how to exercise and techniques for everyday living that supports and truly heals the pain.
Cheyenne H. rated 5 stars on 6/28/2019
I had terrible pain/stiffness in my upper neck and back. I didn’t know what to expect as I hadn’t visited a chiropractor or doctor for it in years–but I’m glad I went to Dr. Hugunin! He truly is an expert and professional, and he’s the best doctor that I’ve ever had. He did active release therapy, and it was the best my neck and back have felt in a long time. He clearly loves what he does and cares about all of his patients. There is no other chiropractor that I would recommend above him–he is the best of the best. Even though he’s not continuing with his practice in Lawrence, I trust that the new doctor he found for his patients to carry on with is excellent!
Ron S. rated 3 stars on 4/11/2017
I went to him once and was very impressed with the results, but when I made a second appointment, I was rejected because I said I was on Medicare. I told his office person that I was willing to pay cash, but she never called me back so I assume I was rejected for care because of my age. Apparently he doesn’t like to deal with senior citizens.I can accept that he doesn’t want to work on me anymore, but I was aggravated that I was told my appointment had been cancelled only 15 minutes before I was scheduled. I had been excited to get another treatment, which I really needed, and had cancelled plans and got up early, showered and was all ready to go when I learned that he would not be giving me any additional treatments apparently because of my age.
Joe T. rated 5 stars on 10/4/2017
Had some serious neck and back issues from a bad fall. Dr. Joe fixed me up in no time and restored me back to fill mobility. I was amazed at how much much better I felt after the visit. Will definitely be going back again.
Michael V. rated 5 stars on 2/3/2017
I almost never do reviews, but I feel like this time I should because I feel like 100% a new person. I had been suffering from Achilles pain and overall stiffness and tightness in my leg and back. I honestly didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never visited a spine specialist. My brother goes to him and recommended I go give him a shot. Well I’m glad I did. He took his time with me and worked out all my tightness. And adjusted my back and neck. I had no idea how out of alignment I was. Trust me on this guys. I’m a skeptical person by nature when it comes to this stuff. Dr Hugunin knows his stuff. He definitely knows the human anatomy and He explained to me different stretches to do daily and I found out I was stretching all wrong. Anyways , I in no way am being paid to do this review or am I benefiting from it. I just felt compelled to do this review because I feel so much better. I even live in Oklahoma but will be visiting at least once month. Thank you Dr. Joe. You are a lifesaver
Bethany A. rated 5 stars on 12/4/2019
Dr. Drake is the best chiropractor I’ve ever been to! He has used a combination of adjustment, Active Release Technique, cupping, and therapy exercises to relieve my neck and shoulder pain. He is very upfront about costs, which are very affordable. He does a great job explaining what he is doing and how it will help me. I feel like he genuinely wants to help people relieve their pain. He is especially effective at working with musicians and treating pain caused by tension and repetitive use. I highly recommend Midwest Muscle and Joint Clinic!
Jackie B. rated 3 stars on 8/30/2016
Great chiropractor but he has no respect for the patients time. I sat for an hour once waiting. I’m always on time for appointments. Sat for 25 out front then in a room for another long period of time until finally after 3 times this happening I just had to leave. Some of us also run businesses where people Are depending on us to honor their time. Once I showed up for appointment to find a note in the door about a personal dilemma.

Loved this place! I could just hear my credit card begging to be maxed out on rocks and crystals. I had been wanting a wand for massage, so that brought us in. Was blown away by the selection – I agree with a previous post that says you would normally only see this much at a show. Got a tigers eye wand, a lapis lazuli my hubby picked out, & a quartz. The owner was extremely knowledgeable, & answered our questions & let us handle lots of stuff. Highly recommend!

As a collector, this is my favorite place to shop for minerals. Owners are always friendly and professional, prices are reasonable, and there’s a great selection. There’s always something new and interesting when I come in. And the building itself is very aesthetically pleasing. I always feel welcome when I come here.

My entire family adores this shop. My sister is a frequent customer and decorated her wedding with crystals from this shop. There are a lot of other gem shops that rip people off and don’t have much variety, but this shop in amazing.
Scotty B. rated 5 stars on 4/4/2018
Was passing thru on my way to South Carolina. Glad I found this place. Owner was very personable and knowledgeable. There is a very large range of items to select from. Some that I have not seen in any other shop. Only at shows. Also it’s clear his items are hand picked. Everything I looked at was of high quality and the prices were very fair. I wish this shop was closer to me. However I will shop it on line at Etsy. This was a good find after loosing most of my collection in an accident with our moving truck.

I have been through two extend physical therapies with the team at OrthoKansas; once for an ACL replacement, and recently for an ankle break rehabilitation.Randy Frievogel and his staff are truly caring, experienced, and professional. I had fantastic success with my ACL rehabilitation, returning to a competitive-sports level of recovery in the time we discussed prior to surgery. The rehab process was painful, but Randy balanced a good Coach’s motivation, humor, and a matter-of-fact attitude quite well.My ankle rehabilitation had more problems, but Randy demonstrated flexibility, in his approach, conducted further research to determine more options, and eventually put me on the path to a more independent recovery program. The front desk and administrative staff have been an absolute joy to work with, really going to great lengths to accommodate insurance and payment challenges.I truly appreciate this organization, and can not recommend them highly enough!
Tracy B. rated 3 stars on 7/27/2017
I am actually not sure what to think of OrthoKansas. It is quite an unusual set-up for a medical office. Sitting in the waiting room, waiting for my appointment, I was reminded of a cattle drive. Yep, a cattle drive. TONS of people in the waiting room who were constantly being called back, shuffled, resurfaced and gone again.I fractured my fibula on my left ankle. My general practitioner suggested OK. It took them forever to schedule because the clerk never called me back. I had to be a public nuisance and leave a nasty gram on their Facebook page before they called me back. I was able to get an appointment, though, within a few days. This is a high volume outfit. I was told that some doctors only do wrists, other doctors only do ankles, and so forth. They could have forwarded my admission paperwork to me well ahead of my appointment. However, they did not offer that option and I was in too much discomfort to ask. So when I got there I had to spend about 20 minutes filling out the paperwork, balancing a clipboard precariously on my lap. It took over an hour to finally see a doctor. Waiting, waiting, waiting. The other people in the waiting room provided good people watching entertainment for me, though. I was actually getting very bored and worried about losing cell battery. No charging stations were available, either. When I was finally called back, I was taken for x-rays. Now I had just had a full set of x-rays two days before and they had those in my file. I was very curious why they had to take more x-rays 48 hours later. When I finally got into a room, I had one technician come in and examine me. Dr. Stull finally came in after.. more waiting. He was very pleasant and capable. He answered my questions and he had a good sense of humor. He showed me the x-rays and explained my injury. I liked him a great deal. The technician who put my cast on was very nice, too. She was helpful and she did a good job. The only thing I wished from her would be less diplomacy. This was new territory for me and I wanted her honest opinion about things. I asked questions like “Do most people get the waterproof cast?” and she gave me the standard “Some do but others don’t” reply. I was truly wanting her input. She was quick and thorough and very nice, though. She even helped me to my car and I appreciate her kindness. I think they know what they are doing but it seems a bit impersonal with the high volume. They just seem too busy. You get the feeling you are a number and not a person. I liked everyone I met and they were very helpful, just hurried.
Jsca N. rated 1 stars on 9/16/2016
I seriously hope I never have to go back here. I arrived EARLY for my appointment to make sure I could get my paperwork completed in a timely manner so my appointment wouldn’t be held up because of that. (I wasn’t asked to do this.) Despite being punctual and prepared I still had to wait 40 minutes to be seen with no apologies given when I was finally called up. Once I was in a room I told the nurse my concerns and then was told I needed to choose ONE thing I wanted to talk to the doctor about. It was his “policy”. They must be CRAZY if they think I’m going to make another appointment. I spent 45 minutes here and less than 5 with the doctor. I won’t be wasting my time or money in this office again.
Rhonda L. rated 4 stars on 7/18/2018
Like another person, I wasn’t sure what to put as my review. LOVE my surgeon, Dr. Stull. Very capable, listed to all of my concerns and addressed them. He seemed to genuinely care about getting the best possible result. On the other hand, the delay in the waiting room can be crazy. I waited more than an hour at one point. The staff are not great on the phone or very responsive. It took six days and me calling repeatedly to get a call back at one point. I went to see a second surgeon just because I didn’t like the wait or the staff responsiveness on the phone. However, I liked Dr. Stull’s style and ability to address my questions so much better, and everyone I talked to about him raved about the results of their surgery, so I stayed with OrthoKansas. My result has been amazing, so it was worth it to put up with problems.

I just finished post knee replacement physical therapy with David Klaus. David is personable, knowledgeable, patient, understanding, and a great cheerleader. He explained everything and made it a great experience. I HIGHLY recommend him for physical therapy!
Dorothy A. rated 1 stars on 8/22/2012
I was misdiagnosed at OrthoKansas. Of course, knee replacements are their bread and butter, but it’s pretty discouraging to leave a doctor’s office and feel you have not been heard, plus have false information put on file about you. Dang C- KU-educated doctors. So glad to be gone from that backward state! I wasted my hard-earned money in that office and do not appreciate it. All my symptoms scream torn meniscus, but they ignored my expensive outside test results and gave a simple x-ray. All the better to support their claim a knee replacement is in the cards. What a dufus, self-serving physician. Funny, I have no joint pain and am too young to have severe arthritis, but in their money-grubbing dreams they claim I do. Even the doctors in KS are frighteningly ignorant. This office pretty much has run of the Lawrence area. Maybe one other orthopedics office in the area that I didn’t catch. Would never use Lawrence Memorial as a hospital either.

I have been going to Bird PT for the past several months for a back injury and arthritic knee. They have been so great about helping me to address the pain and strengthen the areas affected. They are patient and have been so helpful any time I’ve had questions. I watch them interact with other patients, young and old. They are abundantly kind and really encouraging. I also appreciate how careful they are about keeping equipment and the space clean in light of Covid.

My experience with the staff at Bird has been first rate. Bria and her staff are highly competent, helpful, are great listeners and really seem to enjoy their work. I recommend these therapists as an alternative to bigger PT facilities. I give them my strongest recommendation.
Chimi F. rated 1 stars on 6/21/2017
Friendly people, but look out for secret charges. WAY more expensive than other PT providers I’ve had in the past. The worst was the charges for the fifteen minute “gym” session, which involved me walking on a treadmill for ten minutes and doing asinine stretches that I had already been doing at home. Might as well charge me for breathing their air! Also, they use a lot of young (college students?) assistants to do a lot of the work, which was disappointing, as they couldn’t explain the benefits of certain exercises. Again, not bad people in general, but would never go back.

I had a great experience receiving yoga instruction from Clare! I have been practicing hatha yoga on and off for about 15 years, but had really fallen out of practice. My sweetheart – who had very little yoga experience – and I wanted to experience partner yoga so we booked for a private session. Clare showed up on time and was very warm and personable. We were a little nervous going in, but soon were having fun. The instruction was easy to follow and Clare was very patient with us even when we felt discouraged by the more challenging poses. I have some physical limitations and Clare was able to smoothly work with my body. We even got to do some fun acro yoga! I felt very comfortable with Clare and it was a fun, bonding experience for my sweetheart and me. I have training as an educator and I can confidently say that Clare is a stellar instructor – knowledgeable, adaptable, and able to communicate clearly. I would definitely recommend giving Clare a try!

The owners, Carrie and Kim, are fantastic and all of the instructors are skilled, friendly, and knowledgeable. This full-body workout is low impact but will challenge your mind and body. The classes follow a routine but the individual exercises vary which always keeps me on my toes. I’ve been coming for months and always look forward to my workout. And I’m always sore afterward, in the best possible way!You can adapt the workout to your skill level and will he challenged no matter your level of fitness. This studio is well worth the cost. Be sure to check them out!

I was referred here by my doctor for occasional back pain that flares up. I had been to PT once before when I was much younger and wanted to get an exercise regime that would help keep me stronger. This place was a roller coaster.First, I called with me referral and scheduled my first appointment for the next day, which was Tuesday. I went in on Tuesday and the woman at the front desk was like “No, you’re scheduled for tomorrow.” I was in a fair amount of pain at the time and was very frustrated that they had told me the wrong day. The woman was just like, “Sorry, your appointment is for tomorrow the [date].” When I got home, I realized that the number of the date she gave me was for THURSDAY not WEDNESDAY. So I called Wednesday morning and lo and behold, my appointment was for Thursday. Good thing I called, otherwise I would have wasted more time going in. Learn to read a calendar, people! Finally, I was able to make it for my first appointment. I really liked Banaka, the PT who did my evaluation. She was very thorough, much more than the previous time I’d been to PT (in a different state), and spent a lot of time figuring out where the pain was coming from. I appreciated that a lot.My subsequent visits were less great. For these visits, I would do some exercises facilitated by the assistants, who are college-aged and not actual PTs, and after that the therapist would work on my muscles a bit. I think this is fairly normal, I remember this happening the last time I did it. However, I was very unimpressed with the younger employees. They were never paying attention to me. I would finish one set and then have to get their attention to get them to have them tell me what was next. I understand it’s not that interesting to watch people do exercises, but I don’t care, I was paying a lot of money to be there. They were also very social with each other, which explains why they weren’t paying attention to me. I heard so much gossip and so much about their lives. Unprofessional, in my opinion. Each time I saw a different therapist, which meant I had to basically explain everything to them each time. The therapists were nice people and seemed good at what they were doing, but I didn’t realize I was going to see different people each time, rather than work with one person who was learning my body. I went for a total of 3 visits, because I was starting to feel better (this is normal with my condition, to feel better after a week or so), and I just wanted to learn the exercises to do at home. Plus, I was generally unimpressed with the service I was getting after my initial evaluation. I will say that canceling my appointments (they required me to sign up for 3x per week for 4 weeks when I shows up) was easier than I expected. I appreciate the exercises they gave me, and they gave printouts of them which is helpful, but if I ever need PT again, I will not be going to them.EDIT: I discovered, after reviewing my insurance claims, that they overcharged me by $50! It’s going to take 8 weeks to send me a refund. I understand that’s how bureaucracy works, but it sure only took them a quick second to swipe my credit card. Make sure to review your insurance claims after visiting here!!!

I was told one price and billed another. They care more about the money then helping you feel better. The first day they want to see you 3 times a week and want to book all your appointments right away. Be careful because if you don’t realize what they are up to you will end up with a bill in the thousands. My son canceled after two sessions which still cost $369.05check out the reviews on google, the current reviews. I also found 5 star reviews but when you look at the name they only have reviewed this place so that’s a reg flag. Reach out to me if you have questions.

I had a lackluster experience with TherapyWorks and I wouldn’t recommend it.First of all, the facility itself feels dingy and dated. You are crammed into a front waiting room with a lot of other people and it feels a bit like they are herding cattle in and out.As for the appointment itself: I went for an evaluation for a repetitive injury issue and the physical therapist I worked with, Rich, was great. Then I learned that I would not have any further appointments with Rich but rather a random person or two each time, and after doing some of the recommended stretches I was feeling better. So, I canceled an appointment same-day and all future appointments over the phone and the receptionist failed to mention that I would be charged $50 for the same-day cancellation. Supposedly this is posted in the waiting room and in the paperwork. Admittedly my fault for not reading that, but that is a very easy detail to miss when you are filling out new paperwork and overwhelmed by your initial visit. Not to mention a HIGH fee.I felt pressured into committing to further appointments and pressured more when wanting to cancel. When I received a bill, I had been charged the $50 fee for the day I canceled and another $50 fee for another date. Sarah was kind enough to remove the second $50 charge but wouldn’t budge on the initial one. So much for kindness and transparency. If you’re looking for Physical Therapy in Lawrence, I would go elsewhere.

Went to Therapy Works for an issue with my shoulder. They were easy to schedule and dealing with insurance was invisible to me. More importantly, I worked with three therapists altogether and they were all great. They were all very patient and thorough in explaining the therapy and updating my progress in their system so there was no overlap and wasted visits. I was very satisfied and will go back again if needed.

I was having neck pain, so I bought two massages. My friend recommended a woman there who turned out to be a great massage therapist. A week before the appointment I had waited 2 months for (she was very busy because she was so good), I was told that she no longer worked there. I asked if they would refund my money, since I only bought those massages with this woman in mind. The office manager refused, even as I explained that I rarely spend money on massages but was in pain. I need to know that the person giving it can actually help. This woman could.I was met with indifference from the office manager(owner?). I called back later to schedule a massage with whoever they had, since I couldn’t recoup the money. I would have to wait 2 months to see anyone because they hadn’t found another MT. So, I left a voicemail on the manager’s phone, and never got a reply. It upsets me that they would refuse to refund someone’s money who is clearly in pain, even if technically/legally that’s within their right.

Apparently this place has a 24 hour cancellation policy that’s not posted up front or online. 24 hour notice is not always possible. This place is also very unorganized. Every time I came, I had to wait & they must double or triple book because half the time they were working on someone else during my appointment….even after they were late. I work in KC but try to keep my business local. Really disappointed I did in this case. Go elsewhere folks!

I had been experiencing hip pain and a lack of mobility in my hip when I first came to TherapyWorks. I can not say enough about this place. They listened to me, asked thorough questions and never made me feel like any of my concerns or questions were anything less than valid. At the end of my treatment I had greatly improved and learned a lot of valuable exercises to combat my hip pain. Beyond that, every person at TherapyWorks knew my name, greeted me upon arrival, remembered our previous conversations and really got to know me. I was almost sad when I had to leave TherapyWorks. This is an incredible place to go and I highly recommend it for anyone!
