Ya, this place is pretty great! Close to my house, clean, friendly, grounding, and there are a bunch of fun and talented instructors. Very welcoming studio with a separate area with cubbies, separate check-in, and even some really cool jewelry if you are looking for a gift! You don’t need any props but having your own is always nice, especially your mat if you are picky like me. Starting your yoga practice can be intimidating. Come to Zen Riot to have the nurturing instructors help you with your poses and confidence. My favorite is Yin and Restorative but there are many more classes to choose from.I always leave refreshed and relaxed and coming back for more! I don’t really have anything more to say because it is just a great, positive space and you have to visit to understand the energy.

This is a yoga studio that speaks to you, where you can feel at home. I went to an easy flow class and it was super welcoming, where everyone was given the opportunity to unwind on their mats. I can’t wait to return!

This is a great neighborhood resource for getting your yoga on. I really like their donation-based business model, asking each person to pay what they can afford. Some can pay more, some may pay less, but it means that someone who can’t pay very much at all is still welcome to practice. My review is for the yoga practices, but I know Zen Riot offers many more healing services. I attended the free community flow class which is offered on the first Saturday of each month. I’ve got to say, this was a very popular event and we were wall-to-wall yogis in that small studio. I was so close to my neighbors that we had to coordinate our Happy Baby poses so we were all rocking the same way at the same time. Although it was crowded and the room was pretty hot by at the end of the hour, Devyn (our instructor) did a fabulous job and I really enjoyed the class. You know it’s an energetic and engaging flow when down dog is your resting pose. If you come to the free community class, I’d suggest getting there at least 15 minutes early or you may be turned away if the room is full. The next two practices I attended were also flow classes — Thursday evening led by Jenn and the regular Saturday morning class led by Devyn. I really enjoyed the small, intimate atmosphere of the studio, and the classes, although well attended, were not crowded. I also appreciate instructors who not only lead the practice but also take time to observe each student and help with form and position.BTW, as of the posting of this review, the studio is offering a great deal of $34 for your first month of unlimited yoga.
Marnie D. rated 5 stars on 2/19/2019
The instructors are kind and awakened. The classes walk their talk. The patrons are friendly and non judgmental. The prices are fair. They also work by donation. Their additional spiritual offerings are authentic. Highly recommend.

Zen Riot Studio should be renamed: Yoga For Everyone. These instructors are so varied and great. I’ve attended classes with men and women of all skill levels and am so comfortable there. The relaxed atmosphere has allowed me to restart a yoga practice of my own and I’ve never felt better. The Vista/ Boise Bench neighborhood needed a yoga studio and this one fits perfectly. Zen Riot is a donation based business so it’s affordable for all. I can now attend as many classes as my schedule allows and I’m learning what a committed practice does for my mind-body. They also offer various massages, reiki and they have a great little retail selection too. If you are thinking about taking a yoga class but have felt any kind of intimidation or barrier before, try this place. It really is different. The first time I tried to go there I was a little confused about the location, as the signage is small and it can be hard to locate. It’s in the Hoppie Building, on the northeast corner of Vista and Overland, between Jimmy Johns and Cucina Paulo….the historic Betty the Washer Woman!! Once you find it you’ll be so happy you did.

I attended my first yoga class at Zen Riot last night. I fell in LOVE. Everyone was so friendly and super helpful, the environment was perfect and very serene. I loved the guidance of Jenn (our instructor), she was very fluid, knowledgeable, and genuine. By far my favorite yoga class and studio I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Never have I after a yoga class felt so relaxed and my body has never been so happy until last night! I highly recommend this studio and I myself will be returning for more classes.

I am a yoga instructor at Zen Riot and love it! Each teacher is different & unique in their own way. The studio is intimate and relaxing and the students that come into the studio are amazing! I would definitely recommend this studio to people of all different levels, ages, body types or if you are just getting back into yoga. We offer a variety of classes!

I just attended my first class at Zen Riot and I loved it. The overall vibe of this place is wonderful; very nurturing and inclusive. The setting is peaceful and makes it easy to get into a nice and relaxed state of mind. Our instructor tonight, Ace, was excellent as well and provided nice guidance throughout this restorative session. I am looking forward to more classes with Zen Riot.
Ashley D. rated 5 stars on 11/5/2018
I never had a regular yoga practice until I discovered Zen Riot. Since then, I’ve participated in weekly yoga classes, a few special events and have received bodywork with Jenn. I’m consistently blown away by the sense of care and warmth that infuses all offerings. Beautiful space, top-notch instruction, and an inclusive community – hands down the best yoga studio in Boise!

Hands On is hands down the best! Why? You can’t put the puzzle together unless you have all the pieces. Unlike any of the half dozen or so physical therapist I’ve used over the last 5 years (due to an ugly car accident), Hands On understands there is a whole body affected, not just a piece. I have had such great success with Hands On and am so thankful to the staff there. ((Side note – I drive from Kuna passing dozens of other PT places on the advice of my surgeon. He was 100% spot on with Hands On))

This is a great place where they really care about your health. A relative had many sessions here and I accompanied them for several of the sessions. Twila was the therapist and she was very knowledgeable about what was needed to make progress. She was empathetic and gave therapy that was perfect for recovery.

I was referred for a pain in one leg. It was quickly diagnosed as a sciatic nerve problem and the physiology and anatomy were explained. The probably etiology was discussed and the problems was treated with physical therapy. After two treatments and exercises to minimize a future problem, I was released from treatment. Everything was professional, effective, and I haven’t had a problem since.

Over the years, I have had to go to PT for various ailments and injuries. Most of the time I stopped going after a while because I did not feel any progress being made. This all changed with my latest time when my doctor referred me for bad chronic arthritis pain. I knew from the beginning that they were different here when they started me on a regimen of motion and exercises. Cole Davis, who handled my visits, spent more time than I’ve ever had trying to come up with exercises. I spent more time doing exercises than I’ve ever done at PT.The important thing I can say is—for the first time, the PT worked. I’ve got less pain and much more motion and flexibility than I’ve had in years. Cole, Abbie, Brittany, Justin, Lindsay, Katie and Ashley were always cheerful and seemed genuinely interested in my progress. I can highly recommend this location—I had gone to another of their locations before and didn’t feel I got the same progress with them, so I can say that Therapeutic Associates on State Street is the one to visit. Cole also seemed more knowledgable and able to come up with exactly the right exercises and utilization of tools to work to ease my pain. I did get home after most of the visits hurting, but that told me what the were doing was working the joints and musceles that needed to be worked. I’m feeling much better now with a range of motion I haven’t had in over 20 years. Thank you Cole Davis, DPT and the staff at Therapeutic Associates on State Street in Boise. You all are amazing!

Cannot recommend highly enough! They got me through the PT on my two knee replacements in a kind and efficient manner! Everyone I encountered was just lovely, and I really liked having my at-home exercises available on the MedBridgeGO app, which made checking off my exercises so easy! Would highly recommend, and if I ever need more assistance, I’ll be back!

First things first–I don’t think I had a clue as to what pilates actually is until my first visit to Sara at Reforming Every Body.I thought I did. But, no…no clue at all.First of all? It’s not all matwork. Meaning, I had been under the impression that pilates was much like yoga–a workout/stretch based exercise done on a yoga matt. I had the vague impression that there was more calisthenics involved but that basically, it was much like yoga. So, when Sara leads me up to their loft inside A-Train Fitness and directs me to their reformer (a spring resistance based apparatus with sliding platform unlike any other workout machine/apparatus I’d ever encountered), I was surprised. The reformer is created to give users a precise workout, targeting specific muscle groups to promote core strength, flexibility, and good alignment–all while protecting your back. It’s amazing the number of exercises one can do on this simple apparatus. You may do one exercise laying on your back working your legs and abs–and then one minor adjustment and you’re propped on a box on your tummy engaging the deep muscles of your core while working your triceps–and then the box is removed and your standing on the thing working stabilizing muscles and your inner thigh muscles. It’s challenging and has left me with sore muscles in my core and legs that few workouts ever even activate. During my workouts, I’ve also used the Cadillac (a large table like apparatus that is equipped with arm and leg springs) as well as their pilates chair. All of my workouts have been done under the careful tutelage of Sara John who is certified in pilates apparatus as well as matwork pilates. She is always so helpful with my form and it’s so amazing to me how one minor adjustment in my form can suddenly bring the desired muscle work into sharp focus. Their space is intimate but they keep their classes small (the largest class is capped at 7 participants) as well as doing private sessions. Four private sessions are required in order to participate in the group classes. The private sessions are a bit on the spendy side–but now having done them, I can see the value of the initial investment. From there, you can either continue on with private lessons, opt for semi-private (where you can workout with 1 or 2 friends), or do their group classes (with 5-7 participants). Their group classes are much smaller than other places (which is nice!) but aren’t priced any higher (which is also nice!). I’m so glad to have begun my journey in pilates. I tend to be someone who likes to participate in varying workout types, which I will likely continue to do–but pilates at Reforming Every Body is one I will come back to again and again. Get to it!

I have been working out here for several years. Pilates has been a great addition to my regular workouts. It has definitely improved my performance running. Sara is an amazing instructor.
Jill F. rated 5 stars on 5/16/2017
Sara helped me get strong again! I came in at age 46 having been quite inactive, being embarrassingly weak and within weeks was feeling my core/abs and overall strength come back. I started with twice a week and then as I got stronger and could see the results, went to three times per week. The Pilates reformer machines are wonderful (even fun) and offer many adjustments based on your strength level. I get bored easy but that isn’t a problem with so many exercises possible and Sara’s never ending options for new movements. Sara has a plan based on my goals and we evolve as I get stronger. Tracy came on recently and she, too, has great ideas for new ways to keep my progress going. I sprained my ankle over the holidays and Sara was very supporting of that healing process while not ignoring the areas where I could still be challenged. Pilates Reformer is so adaptable! Sara and Tracy are a pleasure to work with; knowledgeable, professional, positive, caring, encouraging and supportive. Throughout my months here I can see the wide range of clients they work with (men, women, retirees, busy professionals, those dedicated to staying in shape, those wanting to get in shape and even those working with injuries, etc). They adjust to your goals and can make things as challenging as you are open to. I think many would be surprised by how challenging some of the more advanced movements can be! When I wasn’t ready for something, we adapted it, leaving me feeling humbled at times but also motivated. When I later was ready for the more advanced version, it is a huge confidence boost and feels great to see the progress. Private lessons, for me, were worth it, providing individual attention to me and my personal health and wellness goals. I can’t believe how much better (stronger!!) my body feels since starting with Sara. It is on my calendar, she is waiting for me and that got me out of my rut and into a dedicated, consistent routine. The studio is a bright, cheerful space with convenient parking and they are ready to make you feel welcomed. Highly recommend private Pilates reformer sessions with Sara and Tracy at this studio.

Soooooo beyond grateful for you guys at ISSPT on Five Mile and Ustick! Having such a weak body with pain, I am so much better than I was when I started many weeks ago for my shoulder and neck. I truly thank God for you every single day. Not sure how I will do without you but am thankful for each one of you and all you did for me. The massage, the torture chamber, the electrical stimulation, the encouragement and the kindness. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Joanna

This PT spot changed my mentality related to PT. This team is magical and they are changing the trajectory of people’s lives. I will now be able to lead a more active lifestyle because of their help with my knee, post surgery. This team has an active and engaging approach to their physical therapy. (I have been injured a lot which means I have been to way too many physical therapy sessions.) They are also extremely fun to work with and my sessions often felt like I was hanging out with my bestest buddies. The clinic is willing to work with patients on a payment plan and will help organize a schedule that works best for you. While I am happy I am healed and ready to take on the world again, I will miss seeing them all.

I’ve had the honor and privilege of getting to know Ron through his physical therapy practice. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and yet an incredibly down-to-earth guy. Likewise, he is very science-driven and results-oriented- making his techniques and methods that he practices all the more effective/efficient. The other PTs that I have met at his Boise Clinic all seem to be very caring professionals as well. I would highly recommend Ron and his practice for his authenticity, professionalism, and true caring nature for the well-being of others.

These guys are great! I bowled a disc in my back doing CrossFit, deadlifts, and struggled with my own rehab for weeks. Once I started coming here I quickly you got better. I wish I would’ve gone here on day one for their advice and counsel. Really really impressed thank you

Can’t say enough good things about my experience with Sawtooth Physical Therapy! I had knee surgery in November and have been doing PT here for six months. I couldn’t be happier with my choice to go to Sawtooth vs. elsewhere in the valley. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, and they really get to know each of their patients. Each aspect of my recovery has been thoroughly explained, which I really appreciate. Scheduling and dealing with insurance has been a breeze! I primarily have seen Ron, but I saw Jenna as well and she was wonderful. I can’t imagine finding a more encouraging or knowledgeable group of physical therapists, so thankful they are in Boise! I’ll be back if I ever need PT again in the future!

Chris Seagrave at Sawtooth Physical Therapy is by far one of the best Physical Therapists I have ever had. He was able to narrow down and identify the exercises I needed for my chronic ankle injury. His knowledge and expertise is something you can’t get many places. I have been an athlete all my life and have had a number of PT visits to different places and I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. He was able to successfully rehab me and get me back to doing what I need to be successful in my fitness endeavors. I also got to witness the time and care he puts into his patients; especially with the wide range of patient’s he sees. On top of the excellence patient care, I have to say the office staff was quite patient with me. I have Tricare for insurance and it’s not the easiest entity to deal with as far as the billing side goes. Sawtooth Physical Therapy was very happy to help make my experience as easy as possible. I am also a first responder and they were very flexible and understanding of my constantly changing schedule.Lastly, if you are an athlete looking for someone who understands that “athlete mindset” and you are in need of someone to help you get back to your competitions or competitive hobby’s – Chris is your guy! Thank you all so much at Sawtooth at Physical Therapy!

From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a smile and your choice of a hot cup of coffee or a cup of water. All of the staff are so friendly and fun to talk to. They all truly care for everyone that walks into their clinic. They work together and communicate with one another so that your treatment stays consistent. You actually get one on one time with both the physical therapist and therapy trainer which is amazing. They are with you every step of the way and are always great about answering any/all of your questions. I would absolutely recommend them to everyone.

Jeff and Zack are a great P T team of taking care of my needs and keeping me in shape and moving. Having 4 different metal parts in my body I often over extend my self and need readjustment, leg, pelvis, hip, and wrist . At 73 years old I’m not ready for a rocking chair, plus 13 grandkids to keep up with.

I’ve been seeing Jeff off and on for a few years…wait that didn’t sound good but it’s true actually. As I age I find myself needing some serious help with a variety of ailments and these folks work wonders! The staff is super friendly and everyone works with you to resolve whatever pain you have. I will say though that it’s a partnership as the patient does have to follow the stretches and exercises they give you but if you follow the directions and show up for the work, you will be all set!

I started going to Idaho Spine & Sports Physical Therapy last fall. After a couple trips to my family doctor for a persistent IT Band inflammation, I was referred here for therapy. After an evaluation, I was scheduled for two sessions a week for four weeks that involved heat therapy, massage and exercises. I was also given exercise instructions to do at home. I feel like I really benefited from these therapy sessions and for the most part had the same therapist. All of the therapists I had were very professional and knowledgeable. After the therapy ended I was given the option of a free half hour massage or some exercise equipment. I chose the massage and decided to sign up for a monthly hour session. It ends up being a good value at $49/month.I might add that a massage therapist recommended a foam roller to use on my affected thigh and it has made a difference! I’ve also purchased Biofreeze there which really helped when I had a lot of muscle pain and spasms early in my therapy. I find the staff here to be very friendly, helpful, and caring!

I cannot say enough good things about Idaho Spine and Sports. When I walked in the first time, I was in so much low back pain I could barely make it to the exam room. There I was assessed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy who dictated detailed notes to an assistant so that the proper therapy plan could be developed and followed each visit. I began to see significant relief after the second session but the nature of my ailment is such that I plateaued at about 85% pain free. The staff stayed with it, tried some different approaches, and yesterday (5th week) I reached 99%. I still have a few sessions scheduled which I will keep so that I can continue to strengthen my back and also learn things I should do regularly to avoid a recurrence. I’m 69 years old but I feel like I’m 40 again.

Brett you have an amazing staff that is very knowledgeable and good at what they do. I really enjoyed getting to know most of them and they are really enjoyable to be around. My neck is doing much better and I can’t thank you all enough.

Great service and care when I was in Boise! I was recommended by my Dr for my ankle sprain. Just after a few sessions, my swelling went down and my range of motion got better. I recommend this clinic.

I had 3 appointments at Idaho Spine & Sports Physical therapy for a neck injury I had acquired. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They gave me great excercises and tips on how to strengthen my neck muscles. I was able to utilize this information for when I was home between appointments. Although the therapists were friendly, there were times I wish there wasn’t so much small talk. I wanted to enjoy my massage or focus on my excercies, and it seemed that each therapist I worked with had the same questions to ask. Are you from here? Are you in School? What are you studying? Where do you work? Do you like it there? I was tired of having the same conversation every 15 minutes. However, I wanted to note that the Manager, Sydney was the greatest part of my experience. She remembered my name each time I went in. She made me feel comfortable, and was very nice to my Father who was visting and tagging along with me on my appointment. She was happy to do payments over the phone as well. I highly reccomend this business, and Sydney is why I reccomend it.

I was referred to Idaho Spine and Sports by my doctor. I met with the owner and he diagnosed me and seemed very knowledgeable and a great guy. That is where things stopped being great about this place. I was warned by my doc to not let them schedule me for 20 visits and that 6-8 would be sufficient. Sure enough, i was scheduled for 20 visits. I went back 3 more times and saw a different person each time and never the original person that diagnosed and developed the plan. I asked to do some exercises at home and not come in every other day and that’s when the used car salesman pitch started. I’ve done physical therapy at different places and it’s been a much better experience than at Idaho Spine and Sports. I’ve since found a great place with an actual physical therapist that will take you from the start of rehab all the way through the process. I believe rehabilitation should be personalized and not a free for all. For the amount of money i’m paying i want an actual Physical Therapist who knows what they’re doing and can actually rehabilitate you. I will never go to a place like this again.

Dr Madden has been my physical therapist for several years (I’m clumsy). Her services are unique because she treats you online (like Skype)! She is the go to PT for people in remote places, or who are too busy to travel. While she is an amazing general therapist, she specializes in treating womens’ issues.

After being referred to another PT after elbow surgery, who literally put me on a machine and walked off, I found the knowledge and professional attention that Monica gave me to be exemplary. In addition, the exercises she recommended were both simple and effective in aiding my recovery. By following her instructions I was able to continue my routine that didn’t require ongoing visits, and continues to serve me to this day. Ed C.

I am a physical therapist in the Palm Springs, CA area. We predominantly service a snowbird population which spend a great deal of time in other locations, Boise being one of them. I am extremely picky about where I refer anyone. Focus Physical Therapy is a top notch facility. It is run like an old school practice (they aren’t just going to throw you on a modality to get an additional payment or send you off with an aide or PTA to supervise). Both Michael and Monica have impressive backgrounds with years of experience. They are current in their treatments and I would send my people no where else!

Michael Devitt and Focus Physical Therapy has been my go-to for 20 years. I am very active (teach many group exercise classes, hike, bike, etc) but am also a woman over 50. Staying active seems to cohabitate with injuries in my case. Michael has seen me through back, knee, shoulder, elbow (and more) injuries. Don’t look elsewhere. He is so intuitive, so educated, so motivated as an athlete himself to get you back out there feeling better and doing the things you enjoy. His office is immaculate. Amelia and Becky have been there for years which speaks volumes. And he will keep you thoroughly engaged in intelligent conversation while working on you so before you know it, the pain (relief) is over.

HORRIBLE Practice! From the second I walked in, I had a BAD feeling. I walked in and no one had a mask on so I thought I was good. The receptionist says, “oh, you need to wear mask – vaccinated or not”. I wanted to say “then why don’t you have one on” as she frantically fished around for it in her purse. She then put it on, gave me one and that was that. Monica, the PT (I use that term very loosely) came out with her patient – both without masks – which is it -mask or not? I then go back with Monica and she is the most dry, awful bedside manner person I’ve ever encountered. She literally wrote my notes on a 3×3 sticky note. What the heck kind of practice is this? She barely addressed my issue but did enough to where I was sore. No offer of ice or anything post “therapy” which greatly impacted me the next day. I chose this place based on the reviews which is totally my fault, as most are over 5 years old. The main guy, Michael, might be a good PT but Monica is AWFUL! I will never go back and I will tell everyone I know and those I don’t how awful my experience was. I am tempted to dispute the claim they submitted to my insurance, as I was there for maybe 20 minutes total and she did NOTHING but make me sore – no therapy whatsoever! To say I’m pissed off is an understatement!

I have been seeing Michael Devitt for 17 years, for the many different injuries I incur as an active woman. Mike is exceptional at diagnosing an injury and recommending appropriate exercises and stretches. Often I go to him before I go to my GP or an orthopedist. Mike understands that I want to get back to Nordic skiing or cycling as quickly as possible. I am not a patient person and, thankfully, have not been kept waiting unreasonable lengths of time. I appreciate the individual attention I am given when I visit Focus. My husband has been seeing Monica and is pleased with the care he has received from her. It’s sad that Ted O. had a bad experience in the office, and posted a negative review without even visiting with Mike.Focus deserves six stars!

I was a bit nervous seeking out a new physical therapy office. That stated, I could not be happier leaving my former physical therapist. I need to be treated like an individual instead of feeling like I was a mass diagnosis. The care that is taken to listen to your issues and find the root cause as oppose to just masking the issue is a rare find. Highly recommended

I was referred to this PT prior to having back surgery. Al Jenkins has so much knowledge and experience in this field a very large book could not contain it. After assessing me he put me on a program to stretch, strengthen and learn how to move correctly. Body position in movement is so important. After depleting my insurance visits I was able to get into the “after care” program at his facility. I absolutely did not trust a “trainer” at a gym to treat me with as much care as I needed. Al cannot say if I will or will not eventually need a back operation, but I can say without a doubt my back pain is so much less than it was, I won’t even be considering one for a long time.
