I came here for a quick free 15 min consultation on my diastasis recti and abdominal separation from birthing twins. I saw Julianne and she was absolutely informative. She answered all my questions and she did not make me feel any pressure to go beyond the free consultation. The open space makes the venue feel like a gym, which is nice so it doesn’t feel like a clinic or medical offices building. That alone makes a huge difference for me and would make me want to return should I need some PT.

Great physical therapists and very nice staff. I have seen numerousPT’s for a very difficult knee complication after knee replacement surgery. This is the best clinic I have been to. Ryan was very knowledgeable about my condition and after many visits, I was able to have less pain. They increased my core strength and motivated me to keep going with my exercises at home. I would highly recommend them to my family and friends.

I just completed my third round of therapy at Good Life Physical Therapy with Josh. After working with various physical therapists in the Grand Rapids area this has become my permanent choice. Josh is genuinely concerned with your well-being and healing… plus he’s just a very pleasant person to spend time with! The large space and limited amount of clients, plus consistent mask wearing, made me feel safe during this time of Covid risks.

Stated that first dry needling would be complimentary. Later got a bill for $120. Most physical therapy offices include dry needling with copay/treatment. Deceptive.

I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Ryan and the staff at Good Life Physical Therapy. Besides having a nice facility, they really invest in their patients and focus on providing the best care. Prior to knee surgery, I went to GLPT to run on their Alter G treadmill which is great. It helped keep my leg strength and cardio up without having to worry about adding to my injury. Without any doubt, I would refer friends and family to them.

I was fortunate to meet Josh Hanenburg at the Michigan Titanium Triathlon expo on Saturday. He did a mini ASTYM treatment on me prior to Sunday’s race. I had great results and I noticed a definite difference during the race. I unfortunately don’t live in the GR area or I would book regular treatments with Josh. He gave me a flyer on the treatment and I’m going to try and find someone in my area that is certified. Thanks again Josh for introducing me to this therapy.

Ruth gives a very accurate psychic reading. Her intuitive gifts are very real, especially in regard to messages from the departed. What I liked best was her focus on spiritual growth and personal development, she is a great coach, guide and mentor. Finally, she was most courteous and deeply compassionate, I felt loved and supported throughout the entire process.

Our group of 8 had a wonderful time with Ruth and everyone left with positive experiences. She does a great job putting new clients at ease who have never done psychic readings before. Thanks for making our day, Ruth!

Very strange person. Flips out for no reason at all. Wouldn’t recommend. Very traumatizing experience. I am guessing she has her own unresolved issues and projects onto others and I wish I wasn’t in her target range. Update: After some rumination, behaving the way she did was absolutely unprofessional and disgusting behavior and I believe she believed she would get away with that because I am merely a single mother with a youthful voice.
Anne H. rated 2 stars on 9/30/2021
I recently had a reading from the owner. It wasn’t as good as I thought it should be. Very vague details on my life, and it felt like she was trying to figure out what to say based on my thoughts. I didn’t feel that she was that psychic.
Kristin A. rated 5 stars on 11/21/2020
I had a wonderful reading with Ruth. Before the reading I was very upset and sad and she made me feel better right away. She was spot in her reading about what is happening in my life and she also looked into my Astrology Chart and confirmed what had just happened and gave me hope for the future. You can tell that she is a very giving and caring person and she really wants to help you with your struggles. She also sent healing energy and even my reading was on the phone It didn’t matter because it was like she was right here in the room with me. I will definitely get another reading with her again.
Kristin S. rated 5 stars on 8/28/2021
What a fantastic experience! Ruth made me feel at ease right from the start. I was impressed how knowledgeable she was about readings. She also has such a caring personality. The tarot reading was my favorite! It was so accurate. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience at the Downtown Ottawa avenue location. From the pleasant greeting at the door, an easy insurance copay process, and a therapist that was able to diagnose and resolve an issue with a couple visits and a detailed home exercise/stretching program. This place once again has exceeded expectations!I am confident that my Caribbean cruise this week will be amazing based on the successful rehab I received.

Four weeks ago I had knee issues that prevented me from running. Within four weeks Anna and Cheryl (Cascade location Grand rap[ids MI) correctly analyzed the problem and prescribed strengthening and mobility exercise, and arranged gait analysis and needle therapy that got me back to running well enough to achieve a course record for my age group four weeks later.Anna and Cheryl were knowledgeable, great at listening, optimistic when I wasn’t, and encouraging. The results amazed me! I highly recommend the Center for Physical Therapy and especially these two therapists.

I have been a patient off and on at Center for PT since 2004 for back issues both pre and post op. I have worked with many therapists there (as I improve and then do something stupid and need to return) and consistently have received outstanding service and attention. I love that the PT and assistants are all hands on and end each session with deep muscle massage. Their goal is not only to provide improvement, but to give me the ‘tools’/information I need to relieve symptoms with any flare-ups. We moved 45 minutes away and I have tried 2 PT centers closer to me and received less than 2 star treatment, so I am now driving 45 minutes for my physical therapy needs. It’s SO worth it and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing physical therapy.
M K. rated 5 stars on 11/5/2014
In short, the Center for Physical Therapy is an absolutely excellent provider of physical therapy services. First, a little about me for context — I’ve been treated at CPR for both post-operative purposes as well as for recovery from common (non-surgical) sports-related injuries. I was first treated at CPR at its Cascade location in 2001 as a high school athlete and, with the exceptional care that I received at CPR, I was able to return to sports and an active lifestyle. Years later, I was diagnosed with serious cartilage defects in my right knee that required me to undergo three very extensive, painful, and experimental surgeries all intended to delay a total knee replacement. Over the past ten years, although I live out of state and also have had my surgeries in the Northeast with a specialist, I have insisted on returning to my mother’s house in Grand Rapids for my recovery, in large part because of my confidence in CPR’s ability to rehab my knee during the crucial 12 weeks following my surgeries. My history with my knee also means that I’ve worked with a number of other PT centers around the country, including in Chicago, New York City, Nashville, and Durham, NC. Hands down, CPR tops the list for two reasons. First and foremost, CPR’s staff is top-notch. The PTs, their assistants, and the front desk staff are bright, knowledgeable, and friendly. The therapists themselves possess great experience and intuition about the rehabilitation of the human body. I am so confident in their abilities that, even though CPR had never worked with a post-operative patient who had my surgery before (partly because no doctors in Grand Rapids perform the operation), I sought out treatment at CPR and returned there after each of my Carticel surgeries. Moreover, the mood at CPR is cheerful and optimistic. The staff is, without exception, friendly and fun. There are no awkward silences. Finally, the PTs sincerely invest in their patients. They are consistently attentive and dedicated to their patients’ progress. From working with PT centers elsewhere, I have learned that this attention from PTs can be rare, but it is absolutely critical to a healthy recovery. I’m so grateful to have found PTs who give me their full attention at CPR. And second, CPR’s facilities are first-rate. Unlike PT centers elsewhere, CPR invests in technology and equipment meant to give their patients the advantage in rehabilitation. This includes CPR’s aqua therapy facility, the training of PTs in gait analysis, and CPR’s investment in medical devices like the Gameready (my favorite!). On a final note, I can personally recommend Brian Gilbert, Cheryl Schwieters, and Ben Eggleston. I’m forever grateful to them and CPR for their treatment, support, and friendship during my recoveries. In sum, Grand Rapids is incredibly lucky to have CPR and I give it my highest recommendation.

Without a doubt, the best doctor I’ve ever been to. Dr. Rahimi has excellent bedside manner, actually listens and discusses treatment options with you (unlike so many others) and genuinely cares about his patients. I’ve been seeing him for about three years and he has this rare ability to put you at ease the moment he walks into the room. I recently had a bad back injury over the weekend and Dr. Rahimi saw me right away on Monday and got me feeling 10x better right away. He even put my shoes on and tied them for me as I was unable to reach them myself. The facility has on-site physical therapy (pool, weights, etc) and all of the staff are professional and kind. Awesome place — definitely recommend for pain management solutions.

About Baker Book House
Our store seeks to equip and minister to people through new books, used books, Bibles, music, movies, gifts, and in providing space for community.
History: In 1925 fourteen-year-old Herman Baker, with his family, emigrated from the Netherlands to Grand Rapids, Michigan. He began working part-time in the bookstore owned by his uncle, Louis Kregel. He developed a love for the religious classics, cultivated a knowledge of theology that would rival that of most ministers, and began to dream of beginning a book business of his own. Just one year after he became a bookseller, he published More than Conquerors, a commentary on Revelation by his friend, Dr. William Hendriksen. In time, Baker would expand its publishing division to include other names like Revell, Brazos Press, Chosen, Bethany House, and most recently, the God’s Word translation of the Bible. And after over 75 years, retail division continues to thrive with a full selection of new books, music, gifts, and DVDs, and over 100,000 used and remainder books. We are proud to say that the traditions and vision of Herman Baker are as alive now as they were when he started the bookstore.

It’s difficult not to give this five stars because of its uniqueness. The christian bookstore is pretty rare on the other side of the state. Even the small ones are hard to find. This is the Powell’s book store of Christian book stores. They have a great selection of bibles and theology books. Including some older and rare books. The interior is modern and they usually have a coffee shop as well. The theological leanings didn’t really match mine so I didn’t find anything to suit me but I think that this is a unique find if this is something that fits your interests!

Visiting Grand Rapids from a city with few to no Christian bookstores, it was a bit of a culture shock to walk into Baker Book House. Less than ten miles from Baker Book House’s production facility in Ada, this location off of 28th Street is MASSIVE. Here’s my experience:1) Books: They come in the masses. Before you enter the store, there’s a cart of steeply-discounted books. Two carts lined with books sold for $1 each. Walking in, the space it spacious with reading corners and rows and rows of books organized by category- devotions, kid’s section, parenting, etc. If you’re on a budget, the back room is full of used books. Ask a staff member for the book you want and they can look up if they have it in the used book section. I found a C.S. Lewis devotional used for $8 v. $11 on Amazon. 2) Space: There are multiple areas with couches, tables and chairs to read or find peace and quiet. There’s also a cafe inside that brews Ferris Coffee, drip and specialty drinks. My hazelnut latte with whipped cream was god. 3) Staff: Each staff member was kind and very helpful. Even if they were busy restocking shelves, they’d stop to help you. When I couldn’t find a book, the staff member walked me over to it so I wouldn’t miss it.If you’re coming from a place not emersed in evangelical Christian culture, there are a few things to note:1) Quality of books: Some of the books are grounded in theology and well written like any book by C.S. Lewis or Henri Nouwen. This bookstore has all the classics. However, keep in mind that a good number of the more modern books are not well written. There are books by Christian singers, a star of the ABC show The Bachelorette and reality TV stars. 2) Conservatism: This bookstore focuses most of its content around the more conservative branch of American evangelical Christianity. That means you won’t find books from the larger Church, excluding Catholic writing, etc. You’ll also find sections like parenting (emphasized by evangelical Christian culture v. a focus in actual Scripture) full and the omission of a social justice section. Few authors are BIPOC. Also, on a recent trip, a sales associate helped me find the book Reading While Black: African American Biblical Interpretation As An Exercise In Hope. Their system said they had 11 copies, but we could not find them. After searching, we had to pull back large books intentionally placed behind ALL 11 books hiding them from plain sight. If you don’t think racism is real, this is an example of how it plays out in places like West Michigan.3) Christian sub-culture: The evangelical sub-culture is an interesting one. Rather than go out into world and redeem it for Jesus (like Calvin University down the road preaches), it creates Christian versions of everything. Bible-themed breath mints, glasses cleaners and tshotshkes. It’s a little ridiculous.

The Baker Book House is a great book store/cafe with a lot to offer. They have a wide selection of new Christian books and Bibles. There is a kids section as well. They also have a great collection of cheap used books for both adults and children. They have a cafe selling some baked goods, coffee and tea. I had a tea and it was very good. They have lots of different seating areas and nice places to study/read including a seating area with a fireplace. They offer different events as well including; free movie screenings (where they offered free popcorn!), they also do children’s story time. Great atmosphere place to quietly read or study!

There’s nothing quite like picking up a physical book, leafing through its pages, with smell of newsprint and ink! In an era where online book sales have swallowed up the neighborhood “Bible Bookstore,” Baker has brought it back with flair, charisma, service, and price point. We travel a couple of hours to get here one-way, but we stock up each time we do.

My first visit and it definitely won’t be the last! I specifically went for the Tent Sale that was moved indoors because of heat and rain. Great deals! I got a few books for 99 cents and they had bible covers for $5! I was sucked into the used book room and they had tons of great condition books at a fraction of retail price. Most popular Christian authors had complete series of their books! David was super helpful and willing to look up books for me! The bargain section was great! It was full of bible studies, academic books and general fiction. When it was time to check out, Joel was great and supplied me a box (!) for my purchase. He was gracious when I kept putting books up for purchase. Great experience!! Highly recommend since the closest Christian bookstore near me went out of business.

Good spot to grab coffee and do homework if you’re off campus. Seemed like a big bookstore, but I limited myself to the cafe and hung out in that general area. It’s got a bunch of booths, high chairs, couches, and armchairs that are good for staying comfortable while studying.Opt for their Aztec Chai Latte – that’s what I got and it was awesome. That paired with a little peace and quiet makes for a good weekday study session.

This is by far one of my favorite book stores in Grand Rapids. Their store was recently remodeled so the layout is nice and clean. They have a really nice selection of hard to find new and used books available which are categorized nice and clear.I’ve never tried the coffee shop here, so I have no comment there, but it always Ella good.

They have recently remodeled this store and it is pretty nice! There is an area for the kids to play while you browse and plenty of spots to sit and explore your purchase or possible purchases throughout the store. They have a decent cafe and a cool listening station where you can sample a ton of different artists and create your own lists. They have a stage area where I got to see one of my favorite authors, Ted Dekker, and have some of my books autographed . Staff is very friendly and they often have coupons & groupons to make the deals even better!

I did the trial class with two other girls. I’ve taken a couple Pilates classes in the past In Chicago and felt so lost and behind in every move but at Club Pilates in Brenton Village Grand Rapids I felt very comfortable and confident. I will say the music selection was not my favorite it was like 80s/90s wedding music but I did LIKE that music was placed at a lower volume and I could hear instruction. At Club Pilates I could hear and see the instructor and I felt very relaxed/safe! The instructor took her time to explain movements and correct form. I really appreciate how slow she took the movements and let us take our time. If you have not tried Pilates and looking for an exercise That is easy on the joints yet is a full body workout I encourage you to try the free intro class at club pilates! I would have signed up if there were earlier AM classes. I’m looking for a 7:00am commitment 3x a week.Enjoy the sunshine, Jennah

I joined club Pilates because I needed to strengthen my back and core. They have the worst customer service. I had to cancel once cause I was super sick and another time cause there was an issue I can’t discuss but I explained to them. Basically couple of times that I canceled before the 12 hrs, they cancel the class but I lost my session. Even though the class had waiting list and they filled up right away. I don’t recommend this business. Unless you pay as you go. Don’t get their membership. Instructors are nice

I’ll give credit where credit is due. Amy of Club Pilates called to address my dissatisfaction. As so often happens with direct communication, we were able to share our concerns and came to a satisfactory resolution. There are always instances in which customers are unhappy, as was my case. However, Amy was concerned about improving the business and caring about customer satisfaction. Kudos to her for reaching out, and I expect with this attitude Club Pilates will continue to meet with success.

Can’t say enough good things about Club Pilates, their classes, and their staff. I can’t see myself ever quitting pilates. I love what it does for my body, mind, and spirit. Not only the staff is great, but I’ve met a lot of great people there as well. Well worth the investment!

I’ve been going to Club Pilates for over a year now, and I expect I’ll keep going for the long term. I’ve been to many of the traditional workout venues through the years, starting with aerobics classes back in the day, traditional gyms, circuit type gyms, kickboxing, yoga, fitness classes, you name it, I likely tried it. Club Pilates is the only thing that has stuck for me, and that I really can say I love & look forward to doing. It’s also been a bit of a life saver for me. I have lower back problems (degenerative disc) and now have developed a slight curve from it. The solutions for this problem are drugs, shots or surgery; none of which I’m keen on. Pilates is my physical therapy, and much less expensive and more effective than going to PT once a week; with my unlimited membership I can go to Club Pilates every day of the week if I have time. My back is still a problem at times, some days worse than others, but strengthening my core (& everything else) has helped tremendously! If like me, you were worried that it might be an intimidating environment; it’s not. You do work out in a group, but you are really working on your own. You move at your own pace, it’s not a competitive environment, the other students in the class are not paying any attention to what you are doing or what you are wearing; it’s not that kind of place. I’ve seen a range of ages, mostly women, but there are a few men that are members too. I’ve never come across any jerks at any of the classes. Every instructor is kind & helpful and excellent at what they do. The front desk staff is nice, and the owners are hands-on and very nice people as well. If you decide to join and are unfamiliar with Pilates, do yourself a favor and start & stay with the level 1 classes for a couple of months. You really need to learn how to do the basics well to get the full benefit and to progress without hurting yourself. You’ll likely be surprised at how strong you get in that first couple of months. If you are on the fence, just go to an introductory class, you should know right away if this is something for you or not; I did!

Yared did an exceptionally thorough job of inspecting our property. He was extremely professional and responsive and accommodated our tight closing schedule in order to get the report done timely. Highly recommend Jared and The Home Examiner!

Excellent, thorough, punctual service. Oliver and his father helped us assess what needed to be repaired in the 140 year old house we were purchasing, and helped put our minds at ease with respect to it’s safety for our toddler. I would definitely use them again for future inspections, and recommend them to anyone and everyone.

This was my first experience with a home inspection and Oliver did a great job. They provided a very thorough and detailed report. Oliver explained things in a way I understood, which was important to me, having never bought or owned a home before.

This team is thorough, thoughtful, knowledgeable, timely and my absolute number one choice. They have conducted two home inspections for us and I have felt ultra prepared and informed with the information provided. We have had zero surprises from their efforts, which is a large difference from other companies we have enlisted in past purchases. I am so thankful for their expertise and wouldn’t buy a West Michigan home without their inspection and approval prior!
Steve R. rated 5 stars on 3/23/2019
Steve and Oliver inspected our soon-to-be-home, and both of these guys are so knowledgeable. We learned so much from both of them and were amazed by how quickly they turned around a 27-page, detailed, physical report with annotated photos, including arial drone photography of the roof and chimney. We had it in our hands before we left the house! The Home Examiner are professionals. We couldn’t be happier with their work and would definitely give them a call if we move again!

Used this team recently on a new home purchase. They were extremely thorough yet pragmatic on explanation and approach. Very professional, yet personable at same time!Would recommend 10 out of 10 times.

I would highly recommend The Home Examiner. Steven and Oliver came out to inspect a home on which we placed an offer. They were very thorough in their inspection and did a wonderful job walking me through every detail of their inspection. They were very professional throughout the inspection. At the end of the inspection, they printed a copy of the report and went through everything with us. We also received an electronic version of the report, which was complete with high-definition photos that were expandable. They did a great job and we were happy with our decision to use The Home Examiner to evaluate our home.

We called for an inspection on a home we were purchasing. They came out the next day, and showed up early. Steve and Oliver were very thorough, and explained everything to us, with estimated costs to fix items. I would highly recommend The Home Examiner!

Steve Yared examined my condo quite thoroughly. He missed one item however…thedishwasher didn’t work at all and needed over $500 worth of parts and labor.
