I had a tarot reading with Dina and I was shocked at how spot on she was. Not only did she know my profession right when I sat down, but she even gave acute details of the subject matter I teach. Dina was fun, encouraging, and so insightful in her reading. If you’re in NOLA I highly recommend getting a reading by Dina! The shop is also lovely with so many crystals and stones to choose from at pretty affordable prices. And the staff are so nice and knowledgeable and provide you with information cards for the crystals you choose. Overall, Dina and Earth Odyssey were the highlight of my trip!

The service and selection is amazing and my reading with Malick was outstanding. He was scary accurate, funny patient and very kind. I cannot recommend him or the store itself highly enough.

Amazing atmosphere and vibes in this shop! Me and my group came here this past weekend to celebrate Halloween and we wanted to get tarot card readings and find a piece of jewelry here. We all got crystal bracelets and readings. My reading with Michelle was amazing. She was very blunt and upfront and I love that personality, I knew she was tuning in and needed the space to speak what she was reading in the moment so I let her do her thing and when she was finished we had a brief conversation of everything. I won’t go too much into detail but I gave her no information prior to the reading and her reading was spot on and honestly something I needed to hear. I’m a very open-minded person and loved this experience. I saw some negative reviews of her readings on here, but I really recommend her! My other two friends did readings with her as well and loved her! With all that being said I also have to give a shout out to Tisha, Jai, and Ricky in addition to Michelle. Y’all were amazing and so positive and fun to talk with/be around. Totally made this trip amazing for me and my friends

We visited NOLA for a girls trip (the majority of the group it was our first time). We wanted to experience a taro reading and didn’t want to do one on the side of the street with everyone drunk everywhere. (Not to say we don’t enjoy the buzz and energy of the city – it’s fabulous, but not what we wanted for our reading) we booked a group reading with Claire – wow she was impressive! She made us feel comfortable, we didn’t give her any information to start off with, she really showcased her ability to connect what she was sensing and feeling to each of our situations. She provided so much insight into our cards and lives, I was personally moved. 20/10 would recommended any day! I truly wish we could connect via zoom because I wouldn’t want to refer to anyone else after working with Claire.Ricky helped us tremendously as well! He was extremely knowledgeable on the crystals and stones. He helped us look at solid jade bracelets, gave us a ton of insight on the different kinds of jade, and topaz. He gave us so much information and was so friendly. Fun fact – it was his birthday and our friends! Emma was amazing in checking us out and scheduling our appointments, so sweet and friendly! The energy of Earth Odyssey NOLA was incredible, peaceful, but motivating and inspiring. My only sadness is not being able to visit more often!

My mother and I received a tarot reading today (06/03) by two different people. My reading was done by a lady who was very kind and insightful. My mother on the other hand got a tarot reading down by Michelle. My mother sat down and the first words out of the tarot readers mouth was that she should be sober for these things. My mother was completely sober and was stunned she would even assume that. She said she was not intoxicated and felt uncomfortable by that comment and the reader told my mother not to tell her how to do her job. My mother sat there quietly and continued with the reading. My mother brought up a similarity between two of the cards and Michelle told her not to talk during her reading. My mother was in shock of the aggressiveness she was receiving during what was supposed to be a great experience. Michelle made the reading a miserable time for her and my mother has gotten several readings done before and nothing compares to this.My mother did end up paying for the service which frankly she shouldn’t have. I’m disgusted and disappointed by Earth Odyssey and the people that they employee. I would not recommend a single person to go to that business let alone have a reading with Michelle unless you want to feel humiliated. Disgusting behavior by someone who practices such an art.

This voodoo shop is in the French Qtrs. I’m so glad I found it and did not have to pay for admission at another Voodoo Museum. You can make an appointment ahead to have your tarot cards read or psychic reading or Voodoo Unhexing. I bought an unhexing kit for $10 to give to a friend. There Aren’t any Voodoo practicers in Seattle. I only also Psychic Readers and Healers. They have examples of different Voodoo Altars. A Giant Voodoo Doll for a drawing display was even at Harrah’s Casino. The fictional stories and movies on Voodoo are all about negative Witch Drs. who stick pins in dolls. Real Voodoo is the opposite. It’s used to bless a house, the park, new shop, etc. You have to look at the You Tube videos of the Healers. I did not know much about Voodoo before going to Nola. But I learnt a lot on the Ghost and Vampire tour at the French Tour.

Had a wonderful experience at the store. There was a very popular and well known place I went to but that seemed more like a place you go for souvenirs. This store however felt very authentic and filled with energy. The back of the store had items for sale but also alters for the lwa. I did make quite a few purchases here and wish I would have scheduled a reading.

Authentica was our favorite Voodoo/witchery shop that we visited during our stay in New Orleans. They had ingredients that you could purchase that none of the other shops we visited had. You can tell that the shop is very popular because when we visited, it was pretty crowded, and rightfully so. The shop had 3 rooms, the first room where you enter had a few things such as candles, books, pendulums, etc. The room immediately to the left had a space for readings, shelves of jarred ingredients, and more. The back room I thought was the most interesting because they had all kinds of different dolls, altars, and other unique items with a little bit of a description. Definitely check this shop out.

Such a cute witchy store. They also have a psychic, which my friend did, and she said everything checked out. There’s a lot of stores like this when you walk around NOLA, some having more crystals than others, some having more candles, etc. this one I would say is definitely more witchy than others, there’s even a corner where they have blank spell books. Highly recommend!

Such a cool spot! They have a ton of metaphysical items such as candles, crystals, incense, books, voodoo dolls and more! This was right up my alley since I’m into “spooky” stuff. I can’t speak on the legitimacy of the products if you wanna do some real witchcraft, but I’m sure the store clerks would know. I grabbed two candles for home decor, which were under $10…so it’s very affordable imo. I also got a couples psychic reading done here by Mimi which was a very great first experience! Mimi was personable, honest and on point with everything she said. Would def revisit to get another reading done when I’m back in New Orleans. Worth visiting!

Cute shop with a variety of different New Orleans staples — tarot cards, bundles of sage and other herbs, magic books, jewelry and stone pendants. The tarot selection is pretty solid, as is the jewelry, though much of it is sold out and hasn’t been restocked. They carry cutesy voodoo dolls, too, if you’re looking for something like that to take home.

I had a great evening History tour thanks to David Lord and I think you would too.”What had happened was…” it was all about “Women and the Magic of the French Quarter” and it took us on a leisurely stroll around the lower river-side quadrant of the French Quarter, which began with a plunge backwards in time to the period of the Houma nation and chronologically moving forward, showcasing the familiar stories about women like Marie Laveau, Madam Lalaurie, and Mary Oneida Toups while defining the magic (both good and bad) that they brought to the New World and how it shaped this unique cultural blend of New Orleans,He showed us the magic already all around us, with the enthusiasm and depth of interest that can only come from many years of reading, study and interest. I would highly recommend taking this tour because, despite David’s charmingly gruff rock-and-roll demeanor, he is an excellent storyteller, group leader, and purveyor of occult history. The last tour I went on was years ago, and I had forgotten how nice a stroll through the Quarter on a warm spring evening could be, especially while getting the inside edition of stories you only thought you knew. It was positively scandalous, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Message David Lord @lorddavidskullclub on Insta next time and take his tour while its still beautiful outside!

About Tarot Palm and Rune Readings By Bill
As a business we pride ourselves in professionalism and service. I do tarot card reading, palm reading, rune readings these readings are each different in nature. The tarot cards are situational dealing with stuff a person is going through now and going forward into the future. Palm deals with a person’s life expectancy, personality traits and talents and abilities plus health vitality. Also a little bit of relationships. Rune readings these are special in nature. They are ancient in nature. Having glyphical symbols inscribed on natural stone these will deal with a person’s physical and spiritual path through life and at the same time look forward into the future. Often years down the road. I also offer a measure of healing on a private level this is a private session where I come to the client where ever the client is.

When I first met Bill I was initially both insulted and crudely refusing to apologize for the fact that I refused to apologize for the fact that the man was wrong about me and the fact that I have no need of his guidance when it comes to what I can naturally do spiritually that he can’t.I have followed the city fortuneteller ordinance for several years or at least all 5 times that I have come back to New Orleans I amI don’t allow him to read for me because my spirit will not tolerate such an obtuse man whom is too bold and over confidant. If he won’t show you the meanings of the cards and he won’t allow you tandle the cards yourself, how are you suppose to believe his readings?I have worked with cards since 1999 and began offering readings in 200f2.I have yet to fail to impress anyone yet, I have also never allowed him or his friends to either read for me nor give them readings in return. The people whom come to me are drawn naturally to me.I digress this is a good reader if that is the style that you want .It just isn’t good enough for me. Trust him if you wish.

The shop has among my favorite selections of materials. I was greeted at the door, or I might say, checked at the door, as others have mentioned. While I found it unusual, I didn’t find it off-putting. I just assumed she was wary of neophytes coming in to laugh and ooh and ahh.I bought a couple of items and essentially enjoyed my visit!

As you see from many Yelp reviews owner Mimi’s reputation precedes her. Some are put off or intimidated by her strong personality and vibe. Ms Mimi will not suffer fools and does not play. She is a real witch and Esoterica is a legit occult shop, unlike some of the newer trendy shops in the Quarter that sell cute witchy souvenirs and tchotchkes. I have been to this store a several times over the years and have had respectful, energized and lively interactions with her. Also I always find whatever I am looking for in this shop. Hoping the online shop reopens.

Wish I had a good experience but honestly was one of the worst I’ve ever had in any kind of spiritual shop and was extremely demeaning and embarrassing. Me and three other friends walked in today because one of them is really into occult practices and I’m very new to spiritual practice. As soon as we walked in, we peeped that the guy sitting in the front was acting super strangely, very fidgety and eyeing us down the minute we stepped foot into the store. He walked up to us and asked if we needed help with anything and we pointed him the direction of our occult friend and said he’s the one who’s probably need help the most finding stuff for his practice and we were just browsing. Immediately, his whole demeanor shifted as he looked at our friend (who happens to be a poc) and he completely ignored him and walked back to his seat. Another member of our group eventually walked out to wait on us because the man at the front was making him super uncomfortable with his behavior and I’m assuming that’s what set off the next events. A few minutes later, I was waiting my turn to ask the lady behind the counter some questions about an oil I was wanting to purchase and the guy shot up out of his seat out of nowhere and told me and my remaining two friends we needed to “Get the **** out of my store and if your friend ever pulls anything like that again I’m gonna **** him up”. I would like to point out here that we were all super conscious of our behavior as it is a small store and tried not to pick up or touch many things unless we were genuinely interested in them and most of the time I didn’t even speak out loud unless it was to answer this guys questions or to say sorry to another customer if I thought I was in their way. My friend did make a comment to another friend about the price of a journal he picked up to inspect further and that’s genuinely the only thing we could think of that would make this guy so mad. I looked up some reviews after we left because i honestly was shocked and super upset about the encounter. I have seen lots of other people saying the woman who owns the shop is known to be very unpleasant and in some instances racist and I really can only assume that’s what caused the worker to accuse my friend (who was the only person of color in the store at the time) and the rest of our group of whatever it was he thought we were doing. The guy very much so did seem to be on some type of drugs and I can only hope he gets the help he needs before it drives more customers away. Overall not a good experience.

These reviews are funny. If you don’t pass the vibe check, you don’t get in. Period. Stop whining. Mimi was helpful and nice to us… for those who say otherwise, maybe you need to look inward!

The woman at the front is abrasive, it’s cuz all the clientele is trying to bring back a scumbag ex that left for a reason. Home girl is over it. these products are world renowned, if you know what you’re doing. It was 4 years before i could back here and honey when I say I took stock, I surely did. It’s a small business. This place isn’t for tourists, it’s for the seekers who are looking for products that are meaningful and real. Don’t blame her when there’s karma in all your intentions 😉

My friend & I were recommended to this shop by anther business. We rang the bell as the sign instructed and placed our masks on. The owner came out and said, “I’ll let you in if you remove your masks.” My friend & I looked at each other wondering if we heard incorrectly. At this point, the owner said, “5 … 4 … 3 … 2 … 1 … Bye!” We walked away wondering what the heck just happened! I guess she does not need the business.

Mimi is absolutely the real fucking deal. If you want a true witch bitch experience this is the place. Just make sure you read the sign and ring the damn bell, know what you’re looking for and tip this witch. Make sure you read the reviews before you go this shop isn’t for the faint of heart. Mimi absolutely transformed my life and gave me some amazing advice. Love Lady Mimi.
Amanda H. rated 1 stars on 11/23/2021
I have been to this shop before about a decade ago and thought it one of the best spots for a true practitioner. But, according to the 5 star reviewers, I didn’t pass the energy purity test required to enter or be treated with any respect (nice victim blaming there, guys. First class spin). Maybe the closed gate should have instructions about who she will actually let into the store instead of instructions to ring the bell and then be yelled like you are a criminal trying to break in. Bad bad energy is coming off this place now. Approach that gate with caution. It doesn’t take actually doing anything wrong to be screamed at. I’m sure lady Mimi is competent in her craft, but not in the respectful treatment of her fellow humans beings. Praying for her to find peace with the world and tolerance of the people she shared it with. Oh, and don’t try to come in when she is on the phone. Don’t you dare….

The first time I went the experience was good albeit a bit bizarre. Owner was very drunk and admitted to us she was very drunk. Okay cool, party time, thought it was funny. We purchased some stuff, and my friend was excited to come back. Same friend visited and she wanted to go again since she enjoyed it so much the first time. We got there and were waiting outside the gate for our turn to enter the shop with a small line behind us, talking and laughing in normal conversation. The owner all of a sudden stomps out from the back and up to the gate yelling at us that she won’t let us bitches tell her how to run her shop and starts yelling at us incoherently. It seemed like she was under the impression we were talking shit about her or her shop? Idk. Me and friend just look at each other like wtf lol and leave. I hope she gets settled with her inner peace.

I see from the photos that it asks that people do not touch the shrine of Marie Laveau. Are we still allowed to leave an offering for her with a wish?
Yes you can just don’t touch it or take any pictures.

No photos allowed here so just a description. While on vacation to NOLA, my friend wanted a reading. We stopped in Marie Laveau’s House of Voodoo and made an appointment for her to get tarot cards read. She was able to return at the scheduled time and had a great experience. The reader let her take a picture of her cards. The gifts are cool here, plus there is a shrine to Marie Laveau the Voodoo Queen herself in case you want to make an offering and put in a request for “prayers.”
Lora G. rated 1 stars on 12/10/2023
Don’t waste your money on the tarot reading. I paid for a 30-minute reading, but I got 10 minutes instead, lol. I knew she was making stuff up when she had me read the meaning of a card from a book instead of telling me herself. Clearly, she didn’t know anything. She was very vague and said things that weren’t even true. I think about the $50 I wasted on this reading almost everyday. Save your money! Trust.

Ever since I was a small child I’ve been wanting a voodoo doll from Marie Laveau house of voodoo and honestly I was disappointed. By No means do they allow customers to take pictures inside a super small gift shop nothing special to make you want to book a flight to New Orleans to shop here. They have your voodoo dolls, books, stones etc. and some of the coldest employees running the shop I found myself asking why would a store want people who aren’t friendly to the tons of tourists this place gets ever year? Needless to say it ruined my 40 year dream of wanting to come to this place to shop. So my suggestion is go in get what you were there to shop for and leave. Oh and again don’t take any pictures lol.
Teresa W. rated 4 stars on 6/20/2023
I’m not a voodoo queen nor do I practice voodoo but if you’ve never been here then it’s definitely a not miss attraction in New Orleans, it’s as much a New Orleans legend as Mardi Gras and Marie Laveau was a real person and was known as the Voodoo Queen and is buried in a graveyard in the quarter they have horse drawn carriage rides and tours there. When friends or family come visit from out of state I always take them to the French Quarter of course and this place is one of the places I bring them along with the other famous sights in New Orleans.
Joseph E. rated 5 stars on 9/13/2022
This location is easily accessible as it is in the middle of Bourbon St. I also really loved that the person who helped me was very knowledgeable and willing to help find things that my friends back home had asked for. In such a small space, there are tons of things to look at in such a small amount of space. I was so intrigued by a lot of the things they offered here, that I spent over $100, and they gave me a tote bag and a prayer card. I do believe that location is everything and because of that, some things in the shop might be a little more pricier than other locations in the French Quarter. I would encourage you to make a list of things you are looking for and make do stops at all the the several shops in the area, including this one.

Fascinating place with tons of artifacts and religious items!!!!! My wife and I got to learn alot about this lady when we did the cemetary tour, so much history here and this place was extremely interesting.
Tyler L. rated 3 stars on 4/21/2022
As others have mentioned before, this store is just a tourist trap. It is named after a famous 1800s voodoo practitioner who was known as the Voodoo Queen of New Orleans. However, the store itself is just a place that sells souvenirs. You will find the usual key chains and T shirts, but also things like voodoo dolls, bracelets, spell books, masks and tarot cards. The variety of items was top notch. We did not mind stopping inside as the shop actually looks very cool inside. It felt like a Halloween store to us. Just don’t come here expecting any authentic voodoo. And definitely do not pay for the psychic reading which is a total ripoff.
Stephanie S. rated 3 stars on 10/14/2023
Pretty cool to see all the African art(several power figure sculptures are in this place). I hate that they don’t allow photographs but you can buy anything there and take as many pictures as you want when you leave the store with it I guess. I didn’t see the “no photo” sign because there’s so much stuff in the shop and the lady yelled and startled me so that I nearly dropped my phone. Eh. It would have been a good experience if I hadn’t been yelled at.
Cori Z. rated 2 stars on 12/23/2022
This place sounds amazing and yes I know they have a couple of locations. However, the staff is really terrible. If you are in a store where you know there are going to be questions about things then maybe you want to help and answer. We wanted to purchase some shirts and they were very bothered to check for sizes and said we had to come back. There was nothing special that we could not get at other stores in the area. Walk through the store as it has things to look at but most look like they are from China and not very local or special.
Tank G. rated 3 stars on 12/21/2021
Tourist trap alert, tourist trap alert. This is a store located at the end of Bourbon Street that sells Voodoo related items like candles, incense, voodoo dolls, oils, earrings, bracelets, books, post cards, magnets and other odd merchandise. They try to limit the number of people in there, but it can still get cramped. You cannot take photos in the store for some reason and the security guard will let you know that as soon as you get there. She can get really rude sometimes. The place is packed with merchandise. So much so that it seems a bit cluttered. They have a room in. the back where they do readings. You will more than likely have to make an appointment to get one. They fill up quick. They have a few readers, some do tarrot, some do palm, so you may not get the same reader. There is metered street parking within walking distance to and from the store. You can also couple your visit with other French Quarter attractions. This store is what it is. Whether you believe in Voodoo or not is irrelevant. You may not believe in Santa Claus, but still celebrate Christmas. This place is meant to be fun and lure tourist in with its unique items. With all that being said, it was just ok for me.

My kind of place. I’m tall with big feet – if I can navigate this successfully, so can you. But, still – be cautious, browse slowly, pay attention to the themes of the books you can see before moving those you cannot. With that said, this place isn’t for everyone. If you found it on Yelp before going, you should be able to tell.New Orleans books are in the front across from the owners seat. Jazz to the left side, halfway in. French all the way to the right. Cooking & food: immediate left upon entering. History is mainly in the dead center. Fiction: all the back wall. If interested in prints, they’re across from the jazz books and also some near the owners seat, just ask him.I don’t get why the books aren’t shelved with the spines showing, but I chalked it up to eccentricity of the owner. He was super nice to us and impressed by the gems that I dug up. He also has maps of the other bookstores in the French Quarter. If you seek out bookstores when you travel, you should add this one to the list and give it a half hour and try to find at least 1 book here just to say you did.
Miguel C. rated 3 stars on 11/28/2019
I love bookstores so I can’t bring myself to rate this lower that 3-stars, but to be honest, I couldn’t walk through and could barely walk in.If you swing by the bookstore on Dauphine, you’ll get a good sense for a bookstore that’s tough to navigate because it’s so tight, but Arcadian you literally has no way to move through the store. It seemed more like storage unit than a store. If you’re a smaller human being, you might be able to find some gems — and I hope you do — but if you’re a regular size human being or larger, you’re gonna have a rough time.

If you like the smell of books, and I DO, you will understand immediately that this place is for you! Used books, some new books, stacks and stacks and stacks of books. You could spend hours digging through the piles of books that create a book-maze in this little shop in the French Quarter, just off Royal Street behind the Cathedral, or you can talk to the nice man who runs the place, Russell. He is the man to talk to about the books you seek. A must-do for book lovers visiting the Quarter.

Arcadian Books is my favorite book store in the whole French Quarter! Used books are stacked from floor to ceiling and it’s so fun to wander through the shop and look at all the interesting old books. Russell there is so knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Whenever I need to find a book, however obscure, I know I can ask Russell and 99% of the time he can go put his hands on it right away; It’s truly amazing! I always tell friends and out-of-towners to check it out! Prices are beyond reasonable and he always has some free books out front on the stoop. Highly recommend a trip to Arcadian Books ASAP!!! 10/10, 100 stars, love this book store!

There is no other word to describe this place besides magic. If you live for written words or wish to talk to someone about local lore this is absolutely the shop for you. This store was one of my first loves in this city and its chaotic style is comforting in this most times sterile, tickytack world. The prices can’t be beat and whatever book you’re looking for – I promise – it’s in here somewhere. Please stay open forever. The shop and its owner are a gift to this city. Don’t miss out.

Kinda cute touristy spot, fitting in with the NOLA voodoo theme. A bit on the pricey side. I would like it much better if the staff weren’t so extremely rude. Well I guess since all your business comes from the tourists that stop by once, you don’t feel the need to foster repeat business…There is some cute stuff here, but you can get the same type of merch at any shop in the French Quarter really. For me it’s a ‘meh’

I really enjoyed this shop as well. We came to this location twice during our visit. Compared to some of the other shops that we visited, they laid out things more coherently. It was much easier to find certain things. At other locations, I felt the need to have to ask for help if I was looking for something.I know that shoplifting maybe a concern at these kinds of shops, but out of all the shops we visited, I felt that security was consistently looming over us the whole time during our second visit. I get that the objects frequently touched are small in size, but it felt so uncomfortable. We did find an ‘Easter egg’ at this shop. If you look up where the counter is, you will see the black fence that was in a movie, which if I am not mistaken it was Interview with a Vampire. It was a pretty cool find!
Josh S. rated 3 stars on 10/18/2022
A bit conflicted overall, but I think it’s worth a stop no matter what. Is it a little gimmicky and overpriced? Sure. But what isn’t in the French quarter these days.I see a lot of people complaining about the “authenticity” of this place, but can we be real for a minute? None of this stuff is real period, so let’s not be naive. One shop is likely just as good as the next in that context. Who cares who made what is being sold there, it’s all just straw and plastic man!So, if you take a “when in Rome” attitude and embrace the culture, I think you could enjoy this shop as they have a lot of cool stuff here.My complaints however, start with the prices here being HIGH. Good luck getting out of here under $100. A lot to pay for the misc bits and pieces of crafting materials you’re purchasing.Next, and the overall bigger complaint is the hostile and pompous attitude of this place and the workers in it. There are a million “no photo, no this, no that,” ads all over this place which is just simply off putting. I guess there’s probably been a few gen z kiddos wanting to make TikTok’s there or something, but it was overkill as the place wasn’t that photogenic to begin with. The guy who runs the place is also trying a bit too hard and it just comes off as unauthentic and rude. He literally just stared at us most of the time we were in there without saying a single word. I don’t mean we caught glances, I mean he stood at the register and very obviously stared at us like a hawk stalking its prey. I think he’s going for the mysterious, edge lord thing, but it doesn’t work. To top it off, there is some homely looking “security guard” they hired who does the same damn thing the entire time you’re in there. I can only imagine that theft is high here, but cmon..I have to add that the security fella was wearing what looked to be a cheap costume shop Halloween “security outfit.” I really truly did not know if he was actually working there or not at first and it really just cheapened the entire experience for me.Again, complaints aside, there are higher rated shops around, but I think one is probably as good as the next. They got my $200 something dollars, but can’t say it was a memorable visit unfortunately.
Justine A. rated 1 stars on 2/9/2023
The lady with blue eyebrows at the front register has serious issues with her attitude, especially with a paying customer. In the 15 minutes I was in there she snapped at several customers even if they simply asked a question. The absolute worst person to have represent your shop. If she’s so miserable perhaps she shouldn’t work at a gift shop that caters to tourists. Ironically, this was the only place in New Orleans that we visited that didn’t have friendly people working there. My recommendation for her would be to take lessons from your neighbors, get a job where you don’t work with people, or some serious therapy. If you notice a slump in sales, she’s the reason.
Kelly J. rated 4 stars on 3/14/2018
Reverend Zombie’s House of Voodoo is a cool shop to stop into if you’re exploring the French Quarter. They have tons of Voodoo items, dolls, masks, charms, books, spells, candles, and other awesome New Orleans novelty merchandise. In my opinion it’s an awesome spot to pick up souvenirs if you’re visiting the area, because then you’re taking home something that isn’t your typical kitschy souvenir, but rather an interesting and unique part of the city. They also perform readings in the shop. As someone who absolutely loves photos I was saddened by the fact that there are signs everywhere that say, “no photography.” I understand, but I would have loved to have been able to take some photos of the shop, as it is absolutely beautiful. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Meh.Wildly unimpressed with Reverend Zombie’s to be honest. We basically ran into this place while leaving Jackson Square. We saw an obscenely long line at Pat O Briens across the street and decided not to wait. Instead we wandered into here to look around and see what they had. They are a bit overbearing with the no pic thing. Honestly, what I saw in there really wasn’t all that impressive or interesting anyways. lol It came across as very kitschy and certainly not authentic.$50 readings if that is your thing.Meh.2 stars.

Meh. The place is over commercialized there are practically no supplies here for actual Voodoun. Standard metaphysical books that you would find in any Barnes and noble or half priced books. No pictures allowed not that there is really anything to take pictures of. I could hear the sound of a terrible card reading in progress. Just a few blocks over is the Voodoo Authentica. It’s more a museum and has real root work supplies. There are also living altars to the Laws there. Skip this place and go to the Authentica.

We are first time home buyers, and we cannot recommend HDMK enough. Luke from HDMK helped us with a home inspection in Covington, LA. He was VERY thorough during the inspection, and did a great job of explaining his findings. He took the time to walk us through each part of the inspection summary. Our realtor was able to coordinate with their office very easily, and they have a great user-friendly online portal with all our documents after the inspection. If you’re looking for a trustworthy and efficient inspector, this is the place!

I highly recommend HDMK. I was able to schedule a home inspection on short notice, and their inspector Johnny showed up right on time. I got a very detailed inspection with photos. I also got a sewer line inspection. Most importantly, HDMK provided the documentation I needed to get the seller to make concessions on the price because of an AC system that needed to be replaced. Nice people too.

HDMK has by far the most customer service driven and professional services I have ever been provided. Not just for my inspection service; any service period. Cody called me the day before my inspection, guided me through what to expect, and catalogued my concerns given my poor experience with a different inspection company in my prior home purchase. After the inspection he took the time to review the inspection with me in detail, highlighting the important concerns, and recommending providers to help me resolve them. HDMK also provides the inspection in a detailed and easy to understand format/web portal interface that shows both a summary and detail report. After my inspection, I emailed Cody on a Sunday with a concern and with in 10 minutes he had called me back, on a Sunday. The owner, Aldo, also called me within thirty minutes to address my concern. He then came out the next day to physically review it with me and implement an action plan.Bar none, a premier service I will be enlisting again when the need arises.

Andrew completed an extremely comprehensive inspection for a new home we are considering. He made himself available for a phone consultation to thoroughly go through all the details. He offered his expert opinion & answered every question without any hesitation, and has offered us to reach out any time with further questions. I would recommend him anytime.

Great price and a very thorough inspection with a clear report. Spent 3 hours giving this medium sized house a top to bottom inspection. Called to go over the finding and help explain anything that jumped out. Highly recommend, great company.

I’ve used HDMK for home inspection services twice and Drew was our inspector both times. He is very knowledgeable, informative, and experienced and it shows in the pride he takes in his work. He explained everything top to bottom on a really old and abandoned property we were purchasing as well as a new construction home. They have different considerations so it was nice to know he knew all the guidelines and expectations for both old and new homes. Drew is a true expert in the field and he is very fair and objective. HDMK is the only company we’ll use for our home inspection needs in the future!
