I generally suffer from horrible anxiety, but I felt so comfortable here and my back feels so much better, even after just one treatment!

It had been decades since I needed PT so things have changed drastically. I cant thank all of the staff for the knowledge they have and made my visits not only productive but also made3 me look forward to going. From Ann, who runs the front, to Maria my primary PT n- she came up with a great plan to get my ankle back to 100% but also had me strengthen my core as well. She had a lot of advice on how to keep things going while at home also. They relieved any stress and not only joked with me but were also professional. Not that I want another injury any time soon but know that this is where I plan to go for the rehab.

The staff at Pivot Physical Therapy (Buckeyestown Pike) is amazing, friendly & quite professional. Amanda, the physical therapist, diligently creates a therapy program that corrects your problem areas to alleviate pain & strengthen your core. The staff is quite helpful in making sure you’re executing the exercises correctly. Nikki the receptionist welcomes you with a friendly smile & is very helpful in scheduling appointments & sending reminders. Thank you for making therapy a pleasant experience.

I have been doing both land and pool PT at Novacare for several weeks now, and I am MORE than happy that I chose to go there. The facilities are bright, cheerful, and clean, but the true stars are the physical therapists. I have worked with Mark and Jodene, Faryn, and Ashley so far, and each one of them is not only empathetic and caring, but friendly and just a lot of fun! I have learned so much from them, as well. Jodene and Mark are both naturals at teaching and I was able to see a very quick improvement in my pain levels from following their advice. I HIGHLY recommend Novacare and am very grateful to have them in my life right now! Oh, also a shoutout to Miller at the front desk, for his caring and patience with making all my appointments!
Laura P. rated 5 stars on 8/7/2023
I cannot recommend NovaCare Rehabilitation in Frederick highly enough. They are terrific! I have had land based and aqua PT here and both have been very beneficial. So far, I have worked with Ashley, Faryn, and Jodene (“Jo”), all of whom have been exceptional. Seriously, every interaction has been great. Each therapist is professional (they know their stuff), kind and compassionate. They even make PT fun! The front desk staff are also a pleasure to deal with. Keep up the good work!

I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to do Aquatic Physical Therapy at Novacare on Thomas Johnson Court with Jo Acierno. I was in so much pain before my hip replacement. I initially was doing physical therapy on land, but the exercises were harsh on my joints. I wouldn’t have been able to continue my physical therapy, but being in the water and buoyant became such a relief. I look forward to seeing Jo every week, because I feel so much better. Jo’s guidance helped me manage the pain, and then prepared me for my upcoming surgery. Now she is helping acclimate myself to my new hip. I highly recommend making an appointment for Aquatic PhysicalTherapy. My improvements thanks to Jo and the pool have been miraculous.

I was hesitant at first to go to rehab for a dislocated shoulder, feeling that I could take care of it myself since I’m pretty active. 4-5 different people all highly recommended Rehab2Perform, and I’m really glad they did. The facility and the therapy are both terrific. I’ve been working with Caleb in their Germantown location. My shoulder has improved way faster than I expected. Each time I go they test the progress I have made as far as range of motion for my arm, and then show me different exercises to do both while there, and between sessions. I highly recommend going here!

Over the year’s, I’ve been to physical therapy a number of times. Some have been very good; others very disappointing. I am pleased that, having recently moved to Frederick, I found a place for PT that falls firmly in the first camp. R2P provides customized, thoughtful therapy by skilled and personable therapist (Sarah was mine, and great!). Highly recommend!
Taylor M. rated 5 stars on 7/14/2020
Highly recommend R2P and Dr. Avila. I’ve struggled for years with knee and hip problems. Years of physical therapy only treated the symptoms and not the actual problems. Dr. Avila diagnosed the root problems, put together a treatment plan, and was invested in my well being. I can’t speak highly enough of them.

Rehab 2 Perform is hands down THE only PT group you will ever need.. truly a hidden gem designed for all ages & all aspects of recovery. From the moment you walk into the state of the art facility you will find a very friendly, helpful & welcoming staff & clinicians ready to assist & address your personal needs while making you feel important & giving you there undivided attention. Every therapist we’ve ever seen either for myself or our four kids(vary in ages from grade school to college )has demonstrated knowledge & guidance to diagnose, improve function & mobility significantly. A treatment plan will be formulated to follow at home with full explanations of how each exercise works to improve your mobility patterns. My favorite part you’ll be provided practical solutions when it comes to reaching your goals that empower you with invaluable tools & knowledge to take control of your health & recovery.

Could not be happier with the results! A friend recommended R2P to me since I was having pain just below my knees when I ran. Everyone from the front office staff to the providers made me feel very welcome and cared for. The in-office treatment and at-home exercises were perfectly planned to get me back on the roads. Thank you to the R2P team!

R2P is our first stop for anything that isn’t obviously broken or bleeding. Everyone in our family has been there for various reasons including: growth related stuff like Sever’s Disease, sport related issues specific to swimming & lacrosse and even age related stuff like plantar fasciitis and back issues. We like that they teach us to help ourselves and the at home work makes recovery quick and complete. We trust them implicitly and when we need a referral, we ask R2P to help us.
Kim L. rated 5 stars on 1/16/2019
There is only one place in town that I will refer my family, friends and athletes to and that’s R2P. Their personalized attention to your whole being and functional analysis raises the bar and places them in a category of their own. Following pt protocols are not enough. R2P focuses on the individual knowing every body is different and returns you to sport and to the best life possible.
Colin Q. rated 5 stars on 4/7/2017

Using a wonderful health aide service – Right at Home – several of these ladies urged me to see the PT they used personally. It has been a joy! They are extremely kind and very patient! I was so happy at the end of my therapy sessions as I was able to run pain free again. Thank you!!

Been coming here for dry needling for back pain after a couple of races. Can’t recommend dry needling enough, helped with 90% of my pain. I say 90% because I never had the expectation of getting rid of all of it but that much is a truly significant reduction. The staff are super friendly and have worked with me when I was running late a few times. Clean and well organized, great place to get a little rehab!

I have seen Dr. Roussel twice. I went to him after another practice didn’t meet my needs. I like this practice. I like this doctor. He’s extremely smart and seemed surprised I had been in pain so long under the care of someone else. He immediately ordered diagnostic tests so he could figure out what was wrong, rather than doing anything before knowing. I appreciate that. Now we know what’s wrong and he explained the options, recommending the conservative action that could provide what I need. He drew pictures, provided medical terminology and dumbed it down so I could understand it as well. He can do more if the first solution we choose doesn’t get me where I want to be. I really appreciate his honesty and how thoughtful his solutions were. Everyone at this practice is really nice btw. The prices are very reasonable as well and I was provided them ahead of time which I don’t see happen hardly ever. I have also taken my daughter here to another doctor where they actually recommended another pediatric surgeon due to the complexity of her issue. And my husband had also gone there for his needs to another doctor, same practice. No complaints. It’s great to have so many different orthopedic doctors at one practice when we need them.I didn’t have any issues with making an appointment or with changing an appointment (I moved one up actually with no issue, just had to go to the Urbana location instead of Frederick). Both offices are very nice. I will say I was hesitant to go here based on others reviews and that was my downfall. Had I started here, I wouldn’t have wasted months of my time so thought I should share with my community my experience (and I don’t usually review doctors in general due to confidential information, but I wrote it without sharing too much)
Stuart W. rated 1 stars on 9/19/2023
This review is for the Urbana location, although it seems like the Frederick location is just as terrible from the other reviews I see.Extremely disappointed with the cowardice displayed by “Dr.” Gwinn in not facing me himself to tell me why he refused to see me to help me with my chronic back pain. This is someone who served in the military so I expected more from such a person, but no he is nasty.Instead he sends his smarmy, spawny, stupidly-bespectacled lacky to tell me and give an excuse for everything as to why they wouldn’t see me, and clearly couldn’t care less about my debilitating pain.To the owner: don’t bother replying, as I see you have done to everyone else who complained. The bottom line is I am suffering and the Gwinn and the staff here refused to see me because you wanted to. There is nothing you can ever do to make up for it.To anyone reading this: take advice from the 1-star reviews, as I should have. The staff here could not care less about you.

Our 17 year old son had a very traumatic, and MOST unusual forearm injury which needed immediate and decisive attention. (They had NEVER seen anything like his most absurd injury.) It occurred at 7:00 on a Tuesday night. We went to Anne Arundel Medical Center ER (North Arundel) in Glen Burnie, and were home by 10 PM (nice). I called for an appointment at 10:00 in the morning. They told me to come in at 11:00 (an hour later) We met Dr. Peter Jay, M.D., (terrific) and his awesome colleague Dr. Russell R. Bear D.O., F.A.A.O.S.. They are incredible, and exude such confidence from decades of medical excellence. They showed our son’s most unusual x-rays to multiple colleagues who all agreed that he needed IMMEDIATE surgery by Dr. Terrence O’Donovan, MD. (The world’s most renowned forearm and hand surgeon. No joke. The best.) This occurred at 11:30 the next day. He had some incredible, and audacious decisions to make for our sweet child ~ and followed through with a wonderful success. From a Tuesday night bizarre incident/accident to intensive surgery, and hopes for a normal arm & life by Thursday morning. A whole bunch of professional awesomeness occurred in rapid succession!Special note: Rachel at CAO front desk actually made it all happen. Shout out Rachel! (our hero) If it weren’t for her professionalism, and intimate knowledge; a whole lot of suck would have happened in the same rapid succession. When we hit a game stopping snag, Rachel declared, “… Don’t worry. This is gonna happen right here; right now! I have an idea!”Rachel’s brilliant plan worked like magic. All of the other CAO front line staff was ready to do their part if needed. CAO is a winning team of compassionate professionals.Special note for the operating room (OR) team. – Nurse Penny walked our son through each and every step. Answering serious, and silly questions from a 17 year old going into, and coming off of anesthesia. Some of the CAO ~ OR team ducked in and out so quickly that I was unable to get their names. You know who you are; and everyone knows that even though you are sometimes hidden in the shadows; your efforts at phlebotomy, anesthesia, OR assistant, nurses, front desk staff, and the rest put our big buddy back together again.

Went here for a torn rotator cuff on January 13. Was told I needed surgery and that a coordinator would contact me to schedule. It has been 6 weeks today since that appointment and no one has ever contacted me.They have sent me their bill though that I have paid in full. The Doctors were nice but apparently their office staff can not complete anything the Doctor asks them to.Will not recommend to anyone.I have already seen another orthopaedic surgeon at MedStar Orthopedics and am now 8 days post op from my surgery that was scheduled the same day as my first appointment.ETA: 9 weeks yesterday and still no call from the surgical coordinator.

We received a call and text from mmi saying appointment canceled. Called to have the provider himself to call us, we had a question. Rceived a call and were asked who canceled because it was on her computer, we responded that they did! Then we were told he does not return calls. What provider doesn’t call a patient. Also woman that called did not identify herself and was very curt. The Doctor who did the injection was great.

Trying to speak to a human on the phone has been an exercise in frustration for years, and today was no exception. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes (as I was number 16 in the que), I was abruptly disconnected when it was my turn. They have added an option to make an appt online, however, this does not allow for emerg/same day appts and gives very limited options for reason for podiatry appts in the dropdown menu, none of which were relevant for my problem. I called Dr Levine and Bell’s office, another podiatry practice in the same complex, spoke to an incredibly friendly and helpful staff member, and got an appt., all within 3 minutes. They have 5 stars on yelp compared with 1.5 for MMI. No brainer.

I was seen by Dr. Nesbitt for my wrist injury which has caused me a great deal of pain and discomfort since January 1, 2022. Dr. Nesbitt made me feel as if my injury was insignificant and due to a underlying condition. I did not feel any empathy or care from her doing my appoinment. She basically seem very robotic and cold with not too much of a personality. She was not rude, but didnt seem to friendly or concerned which is unusual for a doctor.

I was a patient at MMI for several years. I loved my doctor but after about a year or so issues started to happen. First I have to travel one hour from my home to get there. I was stuck in traffic and running late. I called and told them that I would be 15-20 minutes late because of an accident on the highway and was told that was fine. I got there within the 15-20 but had to sit in the lobby why there were working some issue out on the computer with my insurance. I was finally taken back into the room where I sat for 30 minutes. When the doctor finally decided I had waited long enough to punish me, she came into the room and blasted me about being over 30 minutes late. I explained I called and she quickly cut me off and said “you said 15-20” NOT over 30. I explained that I was there at the time I said I would be but they had me in the waiting room for about 20 minutes. I have never been treated so disrespectfully!Strike one. Then I called to get a refill called in for my prescription. No response. I called the pharmacy- nothing. I called MMI again- left numerous messages- no response. When they finally decided to call me back they said I needed another meeting before they could refill but they could not see me for 3 weeks. Strike TwoI asked if they could call in a small refill to hold me over until I had my appointment. Yes, I was told. I spent 2 weeks calling with no help and eventually ran out of medication and had to go without for a week before someone did their job. I checked online and saw tons of comments that they were changing their computer system and were not calling people back. This is inexcusable! I finally changed doctors.Strike Three

About Key Pilates
At Key Pilates, our mission is to provide a clear path to positive change through education, empowerment, and support. We strive to leave a positive impact on the community through service and outreach. By providing a comprehensive experience, we ensure our clients have the tools to live better.
History: Key Pilates began five years earlier as a spark of light during an otherwise dark time in my life. In the midst of dealing with several challenging family and personal issues, I held a lucrative position as a personal trainer. Yet I felt uninspired and unfulfilled. After earning a decade’s worth of experience as a personal trainer with an emphasis on corrective exercise, I decided to sign myself up for Pilates instructor training. Despite the chaos in my life, I needed to be inspired again. I craved a deeper understanding of the science of human movement. I knew that doing these things would, in turn, give me the ability to positively impact more lives and better serve others. The vision of creating a learning environment for health and wellness to affect positive change in the lives of those in my community began to take shape. My life’s focus and direction shifted when I found purpose and light again, and Key Pilates was born.

Does everyone need Pilates? NoDoes everyone need Pilates with Lauren and Tony…at a classical Pilates studio? Hell yes!I have been training at Key Pilates consistently for 7 weeks (2x a week) and I don’t know how I lived this long without it. It has definitely helped improve the way that I move, walk, and run. With each class, I feel my core and glutes getting stronger, and my body becoming more flexible. I could go on and on. The atmosphere is welcoming. The vibe is fun. Lauren and Tony are so supportive and super knowledgeable. The work is challenging and beyond rewarding. I really don’t know what else you could ask for in a Pilates studio.

The front office staff are not always the friendliest or most helpful. However, Mike and Alana (the therapists) are AMAZING!! I wouldn’t be walking upright if not for them. Love, love, love this place!!

This is the most professional and knowledgeable collective group of therapists I have ever been to. This is the second time where they are rehabbing a knee replacement. They spend quality time with you and each therapist watches and helps or corrects you to make it the best possible recovery for each client. Their knowledge is amazing as I have been at other groups which do not compare. I cannot say enough about Mark and Brian and the care they have provided to me to achieve a full recovery. If they see you struggling they will try new things all the time to get you on the road to recovery. I cannot say enough. The Best!!!

The PT’s are charting while you are doing your exercises. It’s mostly the tech’s that interact with the person. You receive about 5-10 minutes of hands on physical therapy. Very little adjustments or massage to painful injured areas, no stem, or no heat. You can have ice if you ask for it. The gym area is small, and everyone is watching each other workout. They do clean the equipment in between patients which is a bonus. You must wear a mask which is a good thing. The front receptionist is a sweetheart. If you are an athlete this is your spot. If not… oh well find another PT otherwise you will be made to feel less than or even bullied.

Mark and his staff are extremely friendly and seem very knowledgeable. They are currently all wearing masks and sanitizing the equipment between uses. The therapy has alleviated much of my lower back and sciatica pain.

I never had a need for physical therapy until this past summer when I went due to a frozen shoulder. The facility is very nice and they have a variety of tools to use depending on what you need for getting back to “normal “. It took several months and I made remarkable progress enough to start working at home. The staff worked with my schedule and checked on my progress regularly. I highly recommend this facility for any physical therapy that your doctor may suggest.

High level physical therapy expertise with a friendly and committed staff. I have a chronic problem that requires periodic PT and have exposure to several PT clinics in Frederick. Now I only go to Frederick Sport and Spine. Their expertise is on a higher level than I’ve found elsewhere. They really understand their anatomy & physiology and are up to date on current medical practices – They also focus on basics of propert exercise technique and low cost therapy. They won’t run up your insurance bill with expensive tests & gimmicks unlike some others in this town….

I visited this Thomas Johnson clinic today upon my doctor’s referral. 40 minutes after my appointment time I am called to the desk. I am informed that Marc, the owner of three clinics, requires a credit card on file to be seen at his establishment. I explained that I am uncomfortable leaving this information on file. The receptionist “checked” with Marc and it was confirmed that I cannot be seen (at this physical therapy business) without handing over my credit card. This sounds unlawful to me. This is a heads-up for others who may prefer not to keep an open credit card on file. I suggested they have their receptionists ask for the credit card information on the phone when when they ask for insurance information to save patients’ time.

Sport and Spine has been my reliable and flexible GO TO place for a wide variety of PT and rehab needs. Their practice is evidence-based, not reliant on the latest fad or trend. How do I know this? I am a 30 year+ RN and group exercise instructor able to discern whether the prescribed therapy is “the real deal”. The certified dry needling providers demonstrate consistent and effective dry needling services. The PT techs are all compassionate and are a seamless extension of the therapists. Each team member is very friendly, professional and confident in the tough love they often have to prescribe. Front desk staff are proficient and welcoming to clients. The full service PT program meets the needs of all age groups focusing on optimizing successful outcomes and improved quality of life for all clients! I have been treated at FS&S for over 15 years and would not consider going elsewhere.

Frederick Sport & Spine is the best place to go for sports therapy. I’ve seen a few other PTs for lower back pain, but they were the only ones who were able to get me moving again! Mark was incredibly knowledgeable and all of the therapists were happy to answer any and all questions or concerns that I had. I also felt prepared to continue my progress once I was done with their program.

Very disappointed to go for my first appointment and would not be seen because I would not give them a credit card to put on file.. I responded Why?? It is our policy she said and your primary insurance is expiring in March. .I answered the girl by saying its not expiring ( i been using for 32 years)and told her its probably the yearly deductible date. She said oh maybe.I have a primary and secondary insurance plans that they do accept. If they dont get paid then somebody doesn’t know how to bill properly. When I realized she didnt want to do her job and they want a credit card on file its just going to go down hill from here. I give you zero stars in patient services!

I’ve had a shoulder problem for over two years and have never been able to find relief, even after a year of Physical Therapy in another state. The discomfort finally became so bad it was interfering with my weight training progress. Mark has resolved this problem with dry needling therapy and exercises in less than 2 months. I can’t say enough good things about Mark or the dry needling therapy. I’m passing all of my lifting goals now. Thank you!
