I had a few problems and was concerned enough to see my doctor for a referral. I want to be sure I remain mobile. There were several choices and I picked this location at random. I was so pleased I did.I’ve gone to PT before for balance. None of them compare to the treatments I have had here. I have seen 3 different people and they were all excellent.The only problem here is it can be difficult to park their lot only has a few parking spots.

I’ve been using the service for a couple weeks now and I have to say that everyone there is very friendly. They check you in quickly. There’s a warm waiting area and it’s very professional from the minute. You hit the door they communicate properly with my doctor about each visit and document on my progress and are very sensitive to exactly how I’m progressing. I continue to see people cleaning on the inside after having customers come and visit they are always plenty of people there to take you and receive you when you come either might be a five minute delay before they get you a new room. They are very very busy at all times and so I’m not surprised because of the quality of care you get.My physical therapist name is Jeremiah , he is very care while he manipulates the area that had the surgery and my progression is way on track so I’m very happy with the attention and professional that I’m being treated with here.I always feel more limber and rested rejuvenated after I leave the way I’m supposed to . As I mentioned, Jeremiah is my regular specialist, but I have seen a couple other people there and I have the same wonderful treatment from them highly trained.

These people have no morals they have a collection company harassing me for missed appointments when I called the 24 hours in advance. They are greedy corporate in practice. The facility is old unsafe with lots of stairs and different floors levels. They rush you in and out and don’t give you time for icing or heat before or after treatment cuz they want you out your treatment end up being 20 minutes tops!! This place is a nursing home type facility. Go elsewhere there is a great PT facility in Albany in the strip mall near Roundtable pizza. It’s bright sunny and the therapist take there time with you and aren’t on a crazy tight time clock.

I was hesitant before calling this place because of all the negative reviews. But this is so close to my home so I was like ok let me try. After a few weeks of going to this place, I decided to stop. They punished me for missing an appointment for the first time. They don’t understand that people have a life and things happen… I understand if someone misses s/he appointment 2-3 times then yes, charge them for no show. But it was too much for me to handle (disgusted) with this kind of non-sense business greed mentality. So I paid the fee and told them to cancel the rest of my appointments. I was planning to go there for at least 6 months (twice/week) for my post-surgery PT and other issues. So yeah, they wanted my cash for a first-time no-show and disregard the rest of the $$$ they can make… I’ll drive a little further to my old PT place.The bottom line – this place sucks and stupid. This kind of stupid greed will take you nowhere.

It’s true. Just read all the reviews on the rates. $250 per 30 minute appointment. They don’t make longer appointments to keep you coming because you barely get through anything substantial in an appointment. I paid out of pocket $150 on my appointment day because that’s what they said when you don’t go through insurance but the want the $250 they would typically get from insurance so I got an invoice for “service” for $100. What service??? I didn’t evdd we n get through the questionnaire during the first appointment. Did I mention they do 1/2 hour appointments? What can be accomplished in a half our physical therapy?

This place is a dump. Picture a junkyard where stuff is pushed aside and space is made for some basic PT equipment – kind of like garages made into home gyms. In fact, the parking lot is indeed the waiting room and from the layout of the place, that likely was the case before the pandemic as well. I chose this place because it was listed originally as located at the very modern and clean and well ventilated et al aquatic center near me. As it turned out, they apparently either moved from there or changed hands or something and moved into this present junkheap location in El Cerrito.The place was dirty, spelling and data entry errors were in evidence (including ones that suggested privacy breaches), people were asked to state private information aloud (risking yet more privacy breaching), and the whole vibe was less than professional. Some basic info on handouts I was given was straight up incorrect (I am talking physiology and science, folks), therapists prescribing treatment failed to give clear cut instructions, and so much more. The building is dilapidated (debris and old completely unrelated junk is sort of stuffed away in dusty dirt encrusted corners everywhere. One gets the impression that equipment purchased somehow finds a home wherever someone dumped or dropped it and often next to same is some strange trash from another type of business entirely.The ‘story’ I conjured up from looking around suggested this may be property some rich family had (like a restaurant) and ‘gave’ to a kid to ‘play’ with an idea of starting a business (like a parent with money and property they refuse to donate giving it instead to their sports obsessed kid to try and make a ‘go’ at using their education to run their own business). That’s the ‘vibe’ I got (aka – spoiled kid, rich parents, et al). Even here on Yelp it appears as if PT is or was an ‘add on’ to basically make some hack-y nutrition and supplement scam into something more viable (and ‘billable’).The 2 therapists I did see seemed adequately competent but not particularly skilled at listening, evaluating, etc. Physical therapists are state licensed providers and are not magicians and conjurers. The magical results exalted by some reviewers here sound like people just unfamiliar with the science and professional practice of physical therapy. The fact that the owner operator(s) could not even take the time to get rid of the unrelated weird junk laying around or just clean the place up for god’s sake – I mean some of the make shift ventilation hacks and whatnot are shocking – is astounding. I think this place just ended up getting certified only based on where it was before it moved from the quite nice and modern aquatic center where it was originally listed on the list of places I originally received from my MDs. Honestly, this place is such a dump, it deserves a story for just that. I strongly advise folks truly go elsewhere for actual real physical therapy. I would not even want to venture into using any sort of toilet or bathroom in this place (an outhouse might be a better bet) — that is how dicey this facility is.If you’re looking for a hot mess dressed up as something a health insurance company might be convinced to pay for, this is your kind of place but come dressed in your finest hazmat suit and definitely take a shower when you get back home.

Waste of money. 30 Minute appointments… Time is wasted just talking, sometimes not even about my injury. The PT will barely show you an exercise, print you a worksheet and your time is done. They rush you in and out..definitely more focused on making money than helping you heal. My past experience with a great PT was a mix of massage and exercise for an hour..wish I could find someone like my old PT again. 🙁

I can’t say enough about Physical Therapy Innovation!!I live with systemic pain throughout my right leg in addition to my right arm!. This has brought me to a point where quality of life issues are compromised and spiritually draining! I have been coming to Physical Therapy Innovations off and on for a couple of years at least. I’m happy to report that without them my life would be debilitating and painful to say the least.Presently, I work with two talented and remarkable therapists. Rosie and Jeremiah are gifted and beyond reproach. My rehabilitation with Jeremiah who works on my leg has been filled with relief and he’s always full of suggestions to go by on my own!! We’re working towards a goal oriented approach. My pain is chronic and always a constant! Thanks Jeremiah… because of your dedication to your patients I for one am grateful!!Secondly, I’m fortunate enough to have Rosie to work tenacious alacrity! Politely put? I love Pandora Astrology! I have been a client for many years. I primarily have had readings with Jamie, but recently had a birthday reading with Fran. It was amazing! She used all the great graphs (transits)and charts that Jamie usually includes, which is always so helpful. Fran is a very good listener, and is incredibly intuitive. She is knowledgeable and has a really warm communication style. I felt like she truly cared about the outcome of the reading, and she checked in with me often, to make sure we were on track. I have had some big decisions to make recently, and she was able to show me where in my chart that planets were aligning to give support or perhaps more work in one area or another. The reading with Fran was so comprehensive and rich- I enjoy listening to it and looking at my notes even now, over a month later. I am finding a lot of good guidance and feel like my focus is on point with Fran’s help. She also gave me a lot of encouragement and pointed out some highlights in my chart regarding my character and resilience. Not only that- we looked at transits throughout the year + talked about parental influences in my chart! It was very detailed and so pleasurable. I can’t wait to have another reading with Fran. I have recently become a “Demigod” level member on Pandora Astrology’s Patreon, which means I get access to extra goodies like early horoscopes & workshops. Jamie is very generous with her time and energy and really puts a lot of thought into the classes. What can I say? I’m pretty much a skeptic, but my session with Jamie was magical. She speaks to you in the comforting tones of a wise oracle, and knew things about me that I’ve never told anyone. It’s a fun opportunity to think about what drives you and, and I find the language of archetypes in the planets and signs to be a much richer way to think about all the different parts of oneself than, say, the enneagram or myers briggs. Definitely treat yourself at least once.

So this is the email Ms. Jamie sent me it’s funny because this email is contrast compared to her response to my review. The fact that she said I have high demands what I said must have hit a nerve! I call it like I see it if the reading was genuine and with good intention why is she sending me this email? The email itself is very unprofessional; yelp is to give a review on services rendered if the service isn’t good I have the right as a customer to give my honest review! Jamie needs to grow up and learn some real astrology and stop scamming people out of there money. What she gives is nowhere near real astrology. Everything you will learn from these astrologers on her sight will be basic information you can look up yourself. Take caution and read all of the reviews not just the good 5 star reviews she has. Oh and I forgot something that I would like to add all the bs she said in the email about driving good people away she basically used the information I gave Fran in the video recording and try and twist and turn it back on me. Becareful with the information you give these people because they will use as a way of being manipulative. A true astrologer would’ve been able to answer my questions that I asked Fran what these people do is use the info you give them and try to use your chart as a way of giving you advisory on things you already know about yourself; you can just go and talk to a psychologist for cheaper. Lastly as she stated in the email that I’m not welcome back I would never in a millions years book with them even if I was offered a billion dollars and why would I try to book with them anyway after not liking my first experience!

Honestly I never wrote a review for a reading I received from here quite a while ago but to this day it still bothers me. I felt she didn’t really care or want to be doing a reading. She was sick and coughing during the entire reading and she also had a new puppy that was barking at the door and wanted to come in. I told her I love dogs and I don’t mind at all but she insisted the dog stay outside and he just barked at the door the entire time because she just wanted to be let in. The whole thing just felt off and left me with bad vibes. She seemed distant and tired the whole time and also made some weird comments about my body which I thought was careless and completely bizarre. Honestly it sounds like she does good work but for me maybe it was just not a good fit. I would never go back. For the price she charges I thought is was extremely unprofessional and pretty disappointing.

I got my first Pandora reading in 2017, at the suggestion of a good friend. I was feeling very skeptical about astrology in general at that time, and had no idea what to expect. But Jamie and Natha blew my mind during the first reading I had with them. Jamie has been amazing on all fronts, in both readings and classes. I have learned an incredible amount from her – she has given me a toolkit that has equipped me for life. Her shrewd but gentle guidance has helped me navigate some crazy times. I would not go to anyone else!Keep in mind that this is NOT a psychic reading. It’s not correct to say that Jamie has predicted my future correctly, or anything of the sort. This was a very bad experience and polar opposite of experiences I have had at previous physical therapy practices. It is very difficult to schedule visits, long waiting list, front desk makes mistakes when you finally do schedule a visit, and therapy not consistent. I do not recommend this practice.

I saw Jessica primarily. I had scene a prior PT who works solo in Piedmont. 1st name starts with a D. She pushed me to do an action that hurt my back while treating tennis elbow. My back relaxed, and I should have waited for an opening at Albany.Two PT’s worked on me at Albany. They were professional, on point, sharp in a good way, and kind. I resisted stopping weight training and then heeded Jessica’s advice. Why seek consult and not take it. I think APT is great! I would not hesitate to send a family member to APT.

Its hit or miss with the therapists: I had one who was great, and then when she left the practice my new therapist didn’t seem to give a – she was more focused on doing work on her computer, as far as I could tell.WARNING: You will be denied your session and still charged if you arrive more than 10 minutes late. On the other hand, you may be kept waiting more than 10 minutes in the waiting room and that doesn’t seem to be a problem for anyone.

I suffered extensive physical injuries two years ago. After time in the hospital and in both in patient and outpatient rehab I was able to function well enough to meet the daily tasks that fill our lives. And I had little energy, a great deal of pain, and limited mobility. I started seeing Michell Akazawa at Albany Physical Therapy a few months ago. Michelle is FANTASTIC!!! She is incredibly gifted at identifying where the pain, stiffness and fatigue originates in your body, and finding/devising the exercises and approaches to make you feel better. I have seen more doctors than I could possible count over the last two years, and Michelle has made the most difference and improved my day to day life far more than anyone else! If you are in pain, put your time and energy into getting an appointment at Albany PT.

Albany PT is the absolute best physical therapy practice in the East Bay, possibly in northern California. I had long spine surgery at UCSF in 2021 and after trying therapy at other practices and being disappointed (they had no idea how to treat me), I wound up here. They have the only therapists who are actually experienced with complex spine rehab. So if you went to UCSF Spine Center for complex spine surgery, you will want to come here, even if you have to drive a distance. The office is clean, the staff friendly and highly professional, the therapists exceptional. I primarily saw therapist Susan Freightman, who is incredible.

This place DOES NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS.No one is answering the phone. On May 6rd, 2021, left a message and requested to have someone call me back regarding needed services. A week, and one day later, still no return phone call. Phoned again on May 14, 2021 left a second message, as no one is answering the phone at this place. Requested a return phone call.This place came highly recommended. So what’s going on? Don’t want to deal with specific needs? Dr. Akazawa is an amazing healer! She was thorough and quickly determined exactly what the issues were. After sessions with Dr.Akazawa, I had significantly increased function and could do things I had not been able to for two years. She is also kind and a pleasure to work with. I has a wonderful and easy experience all around with Albany Physical Therapy – scheduling was easy and the staff was great! I highly recommend them.

I can’t say enough about how amazing this studio is! I’ve been going for 1.5 years and it has made such a difference in the way I move, feel and carry myself. I was in an accident a few years back and went to multiple physical therapists, and found that Move With Studio is the PT I needed and more! Kelsey and her team are committed to quality and are highly skilled in their practice. I am so much stronger thanks to both private sessions and their small group classes where I get personal attention and great cues / corrections. This studio has made me so much stronger in my daily life, playing with my kids, and doing the sports I love. I am so thankful for this studio and can’t recommend it enough!!

I cannot say enough great things about Move With and the amazing teachers. I’ve been going now for almost a year and the difference in how I feel is remarkable. Kelsey, Miriam, Joanna and Florian have all helped me through various injuries and ailments. Everyone is patient, accommodating and most of all, they make me feel comfortable in class, they take time to adjust me for correct form and I feel so safe and cared for. I have been a solid client of MWS since they opened. I actually followed Kelsey from her previous studio and I make it a point to see her weekly. The studio space is laid out well, plenty of Allegro 2 reformers for classes, a Cadillac, arcs, etc. I come for private sessions to help rehab all my physical issues and Kelsey can usually get me back and going in the same day. She’s even managed to help me when I’m working remotely and have a back twinge or issue come up. I also highly recommend trying FST. It’s a form of non-active stretching. It’s relaxing and helps get the fascia “moving” in the body so to speak.Try a class or a session!! All the instructors are great at this location and you’ll fall in love with Pilates.

A colleague told me about this El Cerrito pilates studio and I’m so glad he did because I never would have found it otherwise. I don’t typically go further than five miles from home for exercise but Kelsey’s classes are worth traveling for! Reformer flow (level 2) with her is challenging and always leaves me feeling the burn (and knowing that my time was well spent).

Favorite East Bay Studio!I took classes with both Kelsey and Joanna. The classes are challenging but I have learned SO MUCH about my body over these past few weeks. From my first visit I was hooked. This studio is in a great location near BART and right off the freeway, and they have free parking. Their classes accommodate all levels, and they offer a good variety of classes/class times. The classes are small enough that you feel like it’s a private session, but large enough it feels like a group workout. All of their teachers are great and they are supper attentive. I’ve taken class with every teacher there and have never been disappointed. My favorite classes are with Diana, Kim, or Joanna.

FitWise Pilates is by-in-large the BEST Pilates Studio in the Bay Area!In addition to offering a complete studio with a variety of equipment and a number of classes to choose from, this studio also offers qualifiedly, well-trained instructors providing personalized service based on each client’s needs.I was originally drawn to the studio after 2-years of dedicated physical therapy failed to address issues I was suffering after being diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and chronic tendinosis in my high hamstring. These conditions not only forced me to give up my passion for long-distance running -but in the fall of last year- I quit a job due to persistent injury-related pain. It was during this time I made the commitment to pursue an alternative form of PT that might help me regain my strength and help me return to a more active lifestyle. Upon meeting Ronda, I knew I had chosen wisely.Not only did Ronda assess my needs correctly and give me additional referrals to consider outside of FitWise on my path to physical wellness, but she created a profile for the other instructors to use so I could build FitWise Pilates more easily around my busy schedule. I love Fitwise Pilates Studio! I have taken pilates in El Cerrito and in Marin, and in my opinion Fitwise is the best! Ronda and her staff have an easy to approach style to teaching which makes my practice very effective. I do small group classes and always feel I’m getting honest, consistent, supportive corrections which helps me improve without feeling like I’m messing up in the process. I have an old shoulder injury and all the instructors are conscious of my limitations while challenging me to strengthen and push past my own perceived weaknesses. I wld highly recommend Fitwise to anyone who wants to get stronger, look great and feel super happy about their CORE, both physically and emotionally!!!!!!!

I’ve been driving by Fitwise for years. I was always curious but too intimated to try a class. My image of people who do Pilates is uber fit people who look like ballet dancers and subsist on green juice, broth and organic tofu. A friend gave me some private sessions as a gift and I first wondered how much I could sell the gift certs for on Craigslist. Then, I pushed my fear aside and made an appointment for a private class. From the moment I walked in for my session, Josselyn was kind and welcoming. She asked me about injuries, trouble spots, goals and then we got right to work. After my first session I was hooked on Pilates. Its not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. In fact, its not scary at all! The equipment looks confusing but she quickly and easily explained what to do and how to do it. After two private sessions I took a group class. I was thrilled to see the class wasn’t full of hard body snobs. Just regular people interested in a good workout. I’ve signed up for more private and group classes. I’ve tried yoga over the years and always wanted to love it. But I didn’t. I love Pilates in the way I’d always hoped to love yoga.Josselyn is an excellent teacher. She had a great understand of physiology and can tell you in simple terms what to do, how to do it and what its doing to/for your body. I work a lot on my glutes: running hills, squats, stair master, slide board, etc. The best glut workout I’ve ever had was with Josselyn. I was sore for two days. It was bliss.

I’ve been seeing Claudia for over 6 months now. I originally visited for her 21 day cleanse which was fantastic and can’t wait to do it again. Really gets you on track! During the cleanse she provided supplements, acupuncture, and not to mention she introduced me to the coffee enema which I love for detoxing. She also did coaching and check in calls to see how we were doing along with a solid shopping and recipe guides. I see Claudia about 1 time a week- she’s kind, engaging and provides valuable insight for your overall well-being. I also did the hair follicle testing with her, and I’m currently working with her on a protocol for the last 2 months. I was having brain fog, lack of energy, and kinda felt disconnected from myself. Working with Claudia has really enhanced my mind, body, and confidence. Her rooms are always clean, cozy, and welcoming. I have nothing but positive things to share about my experience with Claudia. I went to her 10 years ago for support around fertility issues that eventually led to a healthy pregnancy and returned to her more recently for perimenopause and chronic pain issues. She is very knowledgeable and I always feel so much better after my treatments. I can feel a huge improvement in my symptoms after two months of treatment with her which says a lot because my western medicine doctors had nothing to offer except surgery options. I can’t recommend her enough!

I wanted to update my review as it took several months to clear the build-up of supplements from my liver, which were prescribed in much higher amounts than those recommended by the manufacturer (at a 20% higher price). Some of the supplements were also contraindicated for my thyroid condition. My doctor advised me to be much more careful in the future. Luckily, there does not appear to be any lasting damage. It felt important to write a follow-up since my initial review focused mainly on what felt like dubious sales tactics and a lack of improvement in my condition.I think that when we are feeling vulnerable, we don’t always question our practitioners the way we should. That said, I’m glad to see that other reviewers have not shared my experience.

Claudia is truly a miracle worker! I have chronic debilitating pain and various health issues from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and have had 7 surgeries that have resulted in severe nerve pain and mobility issues. I thought I would never get off pain medication or get my life back, but with Claudia’s healing touch I am off all prescription medication and have never felt better! Jessica Boyer has changed my life in ways I could never have expected. This all started a little over four years when I had a personal reading from Jessica. During the session I connected with both my mother and father who had passed and questions about so many things were completely answered. I felt like I finally understood my family history and how it has impacted my life and a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. The personality of my loved ones totally came through and the number of specific details that no one could possibly know, confirmed for me that the experience was real in every way.Flash forward to this year. I looked up Jessica’s website to see if she was still around but found that she was no longer doing personal readings but instead teaching workshops- Embracing your Intuition. Not exactly knowing what that meant, I contacted her and was able to jump into a group that had just started. The Embracing Intuition workshops are incredibly intense yet comforting and therapeutic at the same time. I have taken quite a few workshops with Jessica. She is really amazing! She gathers a great group of like minded individuals and creates a safe space for you to feel present and in flow! Jessica has a gift and my session with her was nothing short of amazing.I was searching for peace of mind during a time of grief and devastation having lost both my parents (different times but the most recent being my mom in 2020). For the class sessions we broke out into one on one groups with complete strangers via Zoom and I couldn’t believe it, we actually were tuned in and reading each other! I stopped by with my bf to have a Tarot reading at Fremont Festival of the Arts. We got to pick our cards and ask our questions and we heard some positive predictions for our future. My session was with Doreen.I have been to a couple of psychic readers, including one that was absolutely on the money and she’s an absolute fraud. A genuine psychic doesn’t need to ask you questions to determine your life details, they intuit it. Furthermore, about half way through, she kept trying to sell me a treatment plan, asked me how much other people charged. Her predictions were either cold reading, entirely off base, general enough that anyone could find meaning in them, or meant as a way for me to pay for one of her services. A lot of her intuitions were based on shallow racial stereotypes (I’m Indian)…like I’m good at studying and prioritized it, and how I would be gifted at a variety of careers (shouldn’t she be able to intuit that? Lmao. Even though some of her guesses were totally off base)Apparently I was “so blocked” that I needed therapy and medication before she could intuit information about my romantic future. Obviously a scare tactic meant to finesse more money.Save your money and your peace of mind. It’s horrifying how scammers like these take advantage of vulnerable people that just want absolution for life’s challenges and overall uncertainty.

This is my first time attending this place. But now my second card reading! I’ve read positive reviews about this place and felt that this would be good place for me. I needed to get some closure on my past. And have been feeling lost in my journey along with it. I wanted to get some insights on what had been troubling my mind. Kim was absolutely wonderful! June is terrific. I have severe arthritis in my left knee along with collateral issues. I’ve been working with her for several months. Both knees are stronger and the pain level in my bad knee was significantly down even before I had a cortisone shot. My whole body is moving better and my core strength has improved. Updating my previous review from 2021. My husband and I have been taking “duet” reformer classes with June since November of 2022. We’ve had great results, with both of us feeling stronger and almost immediate improvements to my quality of sleep. June does an excellent job of explaining and correcting my movements on the reformer so that I’m getting the most out of the exercises. I often leave class with increased energy and improved mood.

Have a reformer at home? If yes, join June’s reformer class. I have been a client of June’s for more than 10 years, pre COVID in her commercial studio in El Cerrito, to currently her zoom classes in her home space, which is her new permanent studio. It is so wonderful to not have to get in the car, and go to a studio/gym. I take two Pilates’ Reformer classes and one stretch class weekly, which I love. I round out my physical fitness regime with walking. I have taken her mat classes with one of her colleagues, which are also great, but since I own a Reformer, I prefer using it. June’s transition from studio to home studio was seamless. She cue’s (articulates verbally) better than most, as she watches your movements, and corrects your posture, whether you are a new student or advanced. She will even include the jump board to introduce more cardio. Her pre COVID studio was a small intimate homey place, and her home studio is a reflection of that.

What an amazing hypnotherapy session with Bella. I came to her wanting guidance in my well being and after months of CBT (talk therapy) I decided to try other avenues to address it. I booked one hypnotherapy session with her, and no it’s not the hokey-dokey things you see in the media, but is an inviting practice to highlight your calmer, more honest self and helps give you a safe space to navigate them. Yesterday I saw Bella for a Hypnotherapy Session. She helped me with some trapped emotions that I’ve been holding onto for quite some time. We uncovered other negative emotions and limiting beliefs I didn’t even know I had.Her style is really cool – she uses a NLP, MER, and traditional Hypnotherapy in all her sessions. So you get a blend of all 3 modalities, when usually practitioners are only certified in 1. Added bonus that she’s Board Certified 6x in all 3, amongst a few other things like being a Holistic Practitioner. Heal Pilates is a wonderful, natural light-filled studio with easy parking & down-to-earth, experienced instructors. I’m amazed at how different I feel following a session, with much less (or no) pain & with better posture & body awareness. I signed up for several private sessions just before the pandemic hit & have recently (happily!) returned to in-studio private sessions. The folks at Heal follow appropriate protocol to keep everyone safe & I plan on spending more time there in the near future. Olivia is absolutely wonderful & I appreciate her attention to my specific injuries. I’m looking forward to checking out her restorative class soon! I highly recommend this studio.

Heal is a wonderful Pilates studio. I’ve had classes with a variety of teachers here since 2017. I can attest that every teacher Ayanna hires is extremely knowledgeable and attentive to the needs of individual students. I especially love Elise and Synthia. I used to think that Pilates wasn’t for me or that it was way too hard, but then I started going to HEAL. First, I LOVE this studio because it feels accessible. As someone who has been in multiple accidents and has a lot of injuries, I have to be gentile and intentional with exercise (which is hard as a recovering aggressive exerciser). When I started going to HEAL about two months ago, I was recovering from surgery and had a bad case chronic lower back pain. After taking classes consistently two times per week, my back pain is 100% GONE (which is huge because I was ready for an MRI and physical therapy before starting). The small size of the studio means you get a LOT of personal attention from your instructions. I’ve been to other fitness classes and always HATED them because the approach felt very “one size fits all” –with everyone doing movements incorrect (and sloppy). At HEAL, you can rest assured that you are in the best hands: all of the instructors are very caring and want to make sure you protect your body and spine, while also helping you to get stronger.If you are looking for a place that allows you to have a good workout without running your body into the ground, HEAL is for you. I’ve taken classes with Ayanna, Synthia, Magdalena and Elise. All of the instructors are top notch!! I’m actually excited to work out again!

I’ve been coming to this studio for about 1 1/2 now and can’t safe enough great things about it! I found this studio after trying a few others in the East Bay. This studio is a perfect mix of intimate classes, a variety of classes times every day of the week at an affordable cost. I’ve done Pilates for over 7 years and this is one of the best studios I’ve been to.I’ve worked with all the instructors and enjoy them all. They all have different styles which means you can find a fit that is best for you. All the instructors are also amazing at communicating through out the class. They all explain how the specific exercise is affecting the body and how it contributes to the class repertoire as a whole. I work most often with Synthia. She is attentive, hands-on and encouraging. Every time I walk out of class I feel like my mind, body and soul has been improved and given care. Ayanna is the studio owner. She has a background in dance which makes her skilled in identifying the subtleties of each student’s practice and ways to improve. Her classes are a bit more challenging and fast pace. I also really enjoy Elise’s classes. Every time I walk out of her class I can feel the burn (in a good way). She’s really good at pushing you to challenge yourself. I feel like her classes are a bit more detail oriented which gives you things to remember while in other classes. I highly recommend taking private classes to start so you can get to know all the teachers and styles. This is a great studio for newbies as well as experienced students.

I just took the online mat class with Vanessa. I’ve been going to reformer class here for over a year now and was reluctant to try an online class, but I’m so glad I did! Vanessa gave us some useful suggestions and the class uplifted my spirit. Shelter in place has been tough for me and this class was just what I needed.

It’s been a while since I practiced pilates and I’ve been having some back pain, so I signed up for private lessons with Rebecca Redman. She is fantastic!!! She’s a super laid back, but very focused instructor. I’m having a lot of fun with her and my back pain is definitely gone. I feel stronger even after only a few classes. I’m excited to continue classes with her and to start taking some of their group classes. I highly recommend Rebecca and Heal Pilates!

HEAL is a beautiful studio with expert teachers. I’ve so far done private sessions and I’m looking forward to taking classes soon. The attitude at HEAL is welcoming, focused and professional. I had only been to a few pilates classes prior to starting with HEAL but that didn’t matter – the teachers skillfully guided me through the movements. During my pregnancy I was experiencing pains that wouldn’t let up. I had tried my chiropractor and yoga classes to no avail. Yet in a few sessions at HEAL the pain was gone and I was feeling stronger and more energized. The attitude there is totally judgement free and supportive while being focused on results. Now that I’m having new postpartum body pain, I can’t wait to go back (virtually now) and get all sorted out again. Thank you HEAL!
