History: After years as a professional dancer and comedic improv performer, Joyce chose to take a different path in life. She wanted to enter a field in which she could help others instead of a career that was self centered. Joyce’s experience as a dancer (which made her no stranger to injury) made massage therapy an excellent choice for a career. Joyce is especially drawn to clients that are in chronic pain from car accidents or syndromes such as fibromyalgia. Joyce loves being a massage therapist and looks forward to the future of her business.

I was referred to see Joyce after receiving injuries from a motor vehicle accident. As I was very nervous about my first session (since I NEVER had a massage before), she talked to me about my issues and what her plan of treatment was going to be. She seemed very knowledgeable and was extremely pleasant. She made my first session a positive one as I was able to relax and indulge in the moment, although in pain. As one session will not heal you or anyone, who has an injury as I did. But I was looking for relaxation upon my first session and she exceeded that goal. Needless to say I will never fear massage therapy again. As treatments continued I became more relaxed and comfortable with each session. The treatments have been an extremely positive outcome for my healing process. She has giving me many useful suggestions on ways to relieve pain and discomfort on my injured areas. With each session, it seems like the first (except I am not nervous anymore). She assesses how I am feeling physically and what her plan of treatment should be for that session. As I suffer from depression, she previously posted an article on her Facebook page regarding how massage therapy helps with depression. That article is so on point, the therapy that I have received not only has/is helping me physically but also emotionally/mentally.Joyce I am truly grateful, for all the time and patience you have given me, for the knowledge of knowing how to treat my injuries and most of all for listening, not with your ears, but with your heart. You are truly one of a kind. May God continue to bless you in all that you do.

I would reccomend anyone to Joyce, whether for a major medical recovery or even minor chronic problems. I started going for chronic tension headaches, migraines, and neck pain and she blew my preconceptions about what needed to be worked on out of the water. She knew what I needed better than I did! I felt great afterwards and she showed me stretches to do to keep the muscle group from tightening back up. It definitely helped. She was also very flexible in accommodating my schedule and met with me at 7am!I even sent a friend who was undergoing physical therapy after surgery and he also had a positive experience and plans on going back.

I recently moved back to the Capital Region and needed to get some massage therapy after going awhile without. Joyce was fantastic – doing a great assessment of my individual needs and areas to work on. After a few sessions I can definitely feel the difference and definitely would recommend her if you have a specific issue (i.e neck problems, headaches, injury) or just need to relax and get your body back to center.

I have been to various massage therapists around the Capital Region and Joyce is by far the best. Her “tableside” manner is professional, she caters each session to fit my needs and I always leave the office feeling so much better. I can’t say enough about how amazing Joyce is, and I can’t imagine going to any other massage therapist. She has a vast expanse of knowledge about different massage techniques, plus she has a great intuition that not many other massage therapists have. I go to Joyce once a month but would go more often if I could.

About Spirit Conversationalists and Energy Artisans
Rev. Astraea Olwen grew up with a gift that she did not understand. She always had a connection to the spirit realm from a very young age. Imagine seeing someone and being familiar with their thoughts. Going to bed at night not knowing why you are afraid. Hearing conversations that is scrambled and obscure. Envision walking into a crowded room; and being overwhelmed with emotions. Recently she began to understand, and use her gifts to help others. Astraea is very empathetic with an amazing ability to see and feel what others cannot. These gifts and abilities allow her to communicate with the spirit world. Astraea cherishes and values the guidance they give to her on a daily basis. She hopes to show people there is a bridge between our two worlds; that can be crossed. As we look for guidance and knowledge the same holds true for them as well. There seems to be a great misconception about the spirit realm. It is Astraea’s fondest wish to help educate and teach others how to communicate with their world. Being empathetic aids Astraea in her energy work. Her goal is to unite like minded individuals.
History: We bid you welcome and blessings from Spirit Conversationalists and Energy Artisans! You are about to embark on a journey that will truly mystify. Please leave your doubts at the door! You shall be able to pick them up on your way out. Once you step over the threshold, please do so with a healthy skepticism. Are you curious about where our souls go once they leave our physical bodies? Have you ever experienced a sense of knowing? For example: You know what your child is doing when they are miles away? Do you have faith and belief in a higher purpose? Are you, like us seeking answers to questions?

I’ve been coming to ACPT for nearly 2 months now for some physical therapy for recurring knee injuries. All of their therapists have been wonderful. I mainly work with Conor, who has been patient and encouraging through the process. I’ve also worked with Joe and Justin and they’ve also been great. The front desk staff is also always friendly and helpful with any questions, rescheduling, billing, etc. I appreciated that at my first appointment they set me up to speak with their billing department so I knew everything my insurance would or would not cover and it showed me they would be on top of it. Overall, I’ve been very happy with my experience here and have seen great improvement in my knees. I would recommend the physical therapy here to anyone in need. I haven’t tried any of their other services (chiropractic or massage), so can’t comment.

Excellent place for post-surgical rehabilitation. I’ve been a patient twice, in 2016 for rehab after my first hip replacement and again in 2019 for rehab after my second hip replacement. Both experiences were great. Professional staff includes several doctors, physical therapists, and physical therapist assistants and they are all friendly and knowledgeable. Front desk and office staff are also efficient and helpful. Convenient location and hours.

Excellent staff and superb customer service. The physical therapists are all very personable, informative, and you can definitely learn a great deal from them. Ive been coming here for a little over a month after having knee surgery and have significant improvements on my mobility. Ashley is an awesome physical therapists and definitely challenges me each session. I highly recommend this company for all physical therapy needs!

Doctors, physical therapists and office staff are caring, welcoming and helpful. They treat you as a person rather than just a number. Treatments are customized for each patient and condition. I have used both PT and chiropractic services and am happy with both. If insurance stops paying they have reasonable pay as you go rates. Everybody knows their stuff and treatments have been successful. I have been treated for back problems, broken elbow and calf and balance issues. I come in from Delmar- it’s worth the trip

All the staff were awesome-from the receptionists to the providers. Dr. Traudt and Joe were so friendly and interacted with myself and my son with such interest and caring. As an RN myself it was so nice to interact with such a professional group of people. Highly recommend the foot scan for orthotics!

The care I was given at the Saratoga office of Capital Area Physical Therapy was very personal and one on one. First I worked with Drew for a pelvic issue and then Kate for my shoulder, both therapists were professional, friendly and knowledgeable about my injuries. They were extremely helpful and I am thoroughly satisfied with my care. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Capital Area PT and will return if I have any other injuries that need physical therapy. Thank you Drew, Kate and Sabrina.Judy NSaratoga Springs, NY

Over the course of many years I have patronized quite a few physical therapy businesses.Frankly, something was wrong about all of them (they canceled appointments on short notice or messed up billing) – until I found this one. Capital Region Physical Therapy is as good as it gets. The owner, Brett Sears, is a master therapist. As noted on their website “Brett Sears, PT is the Expert Physical Therapist on Verywell.com Since 2011, Brett has been writing articles on various PT-related topics.”Brett knows all the proper and correct techniques and utilizes them perfectly. He is knowledgeable, highly skilled, and personable. In short a pleasure to work with. When Brett is on vacation I see another therapist here whose name is Sandy. Sandy has the warmest hands on the planet. Sandy also knows what she is doing and is a please to work with as well. The office’s front desk person Taylor DeLong is extremely polite and efficient. The whole atmosphere here is one of competence and pleasantness. Following is another quote I have taken from their website:”At Capital Region Physical Therapy, we understand that your pain is personal, and your treatment should be. We only offer one-on-one rehab services for people of all ages. That means it is just you and your physical therapist. Always. We have available appointment times early in the morning and late at night. Some PT clinics may have you wait 2 or 3 weeks to make an initial appointment. We offer you an appointment time within 48 hours of contacting our clinic!”Finally, if you need PT this is the place to go. You will most certainly be in good hands!

I’m surprised there are no reviews of this place. I’ve used other physical therapists in the area (I.e., the bone and joint center and another place downtown) and this place so far has the best therapists. I’ve seen 2 physical therapists at this location and they are both terrific. Knowledgeable, kind, and explain everything in a way that a layman can understand. Other members of my family come here for physical therapy as well.

I’ve had both shoulders operated on for rotator cuff issues. If you’ve had that surgery you know how difficult it is to recuperate. Thanks to Brett Sears I’ve done beautifully! He’s not afraid to push you! All therapists should be so talented!!!

IF anyone needs to go to Physical Therapy, Repsher & Associates is the PLACE to go to. My therapist’s name is Shane. He is AWESOME!! I started there in mid-October, and my last day is December 27th. I broke my bone in the back of the knee. In other words, I broke my Tibia Plateau. I went through hell, but when it came for Physical Therapy, Repsher & Associates is the place to go to. Ask for Shane. He is AWESOME!!! I have my life back.

Tony has a very personal and professional manner which put me at ease right away. His encouragement gave me confidence during each session. My experience far exceeded my expectations. I was referred to Repsher by my surgical physician after having rotator cuff surgery. After giving my information to the very friendly ladies upon checking in, I was assigned to Shane. I went 2-3 times a week for 12 weeks. The center was always clean and neat. Shane was very friendly, caring, kind, compassionate to my pain and very knowledgeable of what he does. He was always prompt in greeting me at my scheduled appointment and always asked how I was doing and feeling. He has gotten me to a very comfortable point in my recovery. If I ever need PT again, I will go to Repsher and specifically ask for Shane.

I joined HOTWORX Latham during the presale, which was very reasonable priced. Since it opened, I’ve been to about 20 sessions in just a few weeks. I absolutely love the workouts. The variety is great (15 and 30 min workouts with row, bike, ellipitical, Pilates, yoga, barre, core, etc). I love it being just me and the digital instructor. I was nervous about the sauna aspect at first but I immediately adjusted and now crave that warmth for my muscles. I feel no aches or pains while working out which is very motivating for me. I’d really recommend giving it a try. it’s a totally different gym studio experience!!

About The Pilates Principle
Our studio provides a venue in which you can feel confident that you’re exercising “smart,” under highly educated instruction. The studio is owned, and the staff is led by a physical therapist, Nuhar Jaleel. Nuhar is certified in Pilates and Gyrotonic exercise, and the staff are all fully-certified in their respective exercise methods. The current studio was custom-built in 2007, but the business has been established since 2003. Both the Pilates and the Gyrotonic studio are fully-equipped. Group classes at the beginner and intermediate level are offered in Pilates, and Gyrotonic exercise. Private and semi-private instruction is also available in Pilates and Gyrotonic exercise.
History: The studio has grown tremendously since 2003. We started out in a space that was about 400 square feet, with the owner teaching 12+ hour days. We started expanding our staff in 2005, and grew exponentially when we moved into our new, custom-built space in 2007.

Thanks to Yelp, I found this beautiful space while looking for a studio to learn Pilates and begin taking classes. My first appointment was a 1:1 session with the owner, Nahar. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable, and has beautiful energy. She was patient and explained each position she was teaching me, correct form, as well as the equipment used. I felt totally ‘worked out’ by the end! 🙂 The studio is gorgeous as well. From first contacting the studio online to the end of my 1:1 with Nahar, the experience was great! I would highly recommend!

I am admittedly a Pilates novice and have loved the my experience here thus far. I have only done the private lessons, but Kurt has been the best teacher. The workouts have been fun, challenging, and I felt like it was money well spent.Especially if you’re new to Pilates, I’d highly recommend splurging on the private lessons. It makes it a much more enjoyable experience. The facility is beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Everyone who works their is truly professional.

This studio is BEAUTIFUL. It’s nicely decorated. I took an Intermediate Tower class, where you lay on a fat, thick mat and use the arm and leg pulleys to do a variety of exercises. It was extremely challenging and my muscles shook a lot, but very fun. The teacher gave lots of attention to all of us and must have given me 100 adjustments. It’s a little expensive – $25 per class – but worth it. I’d love to go back for a private lesson on the other machines in the other room. They also have a massage therapy place across the hall, a brand new gyrotechnics studio upstairs, and a beauty salon next door. It’s heaven on earth, basically.

I’ve taken pilates and a Nia class at The Pilates Principle, and all were wonderful. The classes are small with friendly instructors and great for beginners or regulars. They offer a large variety of classes, so there’s always something new to try.The classes are well taught so, as someone who had never taken Pilates or Nia before, it was very easy to fall into the routines or work outs instructed, I definitely recommend it.
Michael F. rated 4 stars on 8/19/2011
I’ve tried the other Yoga studios in the area, but nothing compares to the Ashtanga classes offered by Leslie. The movements themselves are the standard warrior series alongside stretching and balancing postures. For beginners to intermediate Yoga practitioners, they would find this difficulty perfect. Though, some more advanced followers may be left underwhelmed. However, it is not the actual movements that make Leslie’s class worthwhile, but instead Leslie herself. I have not met an instructor that seemed to so vividly, deeply, and outwardly care for her students. Leslie has a real talent for making one feel comfortable and welcomed even on his first day. Furthermore, she personally attends to each students posture with small correcting adjustments on nearly every move. Finally, at the end, you are rewarded with a light muscle stretch and massage as you relax into meditation. I haven’t been to a Yoga class like it. If the rest of the Pilates Principle follows Laura’s standard, I strongly give them my thanks for existing and my personal recommendation to those who haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting.

This pilates studio is relaxing and gorgeous. All the instructors I’ve had here are so nice, knowledgeable, and always willing to help you. I really love this place and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in trying pilates.

I went here to try a new kind of class. The bathrooms were clean, the studio smelled good, and the floors felt nice to walk on (things that really influence a studio and yet people don’t often review). I liked my teacher and had a nice experience. I was able to do some of the exercises although not all of them, and I didn’t feel judged. I’d go back. Thanks!

They therapists are quite knowledgeable and helpful in plans for recovery, and explaining why certain exercises will help with recovery. They gave me video to watch to support activities at home in between visits. They were helpful with insurance processing as well.

The therapist I was assigned was condescending, unprofessional, and neither knowledgeable nor attentive.

Henry from Nesco is the man. He contacted me after finding my resume that I had posted on a job website. After talking for a bit he said he had an opportunity that I would be a good fit for. He set up the interview and I got hired. He helped negotiate my pay and I can say I am more than happy. He also handled the details of setting up my preemployment physical and drug screen. Communication was on point throughout the entire process. Excellent work Mr. Hunn. If you are looking for a good paying career, I recommend this service.

My experience with Nesco Resource has been very good. I submitted my resume to Nesco for a position they had posted on a job website I use (or that I did use at the time; now that Nesco’s set me up, I think and hope I won’t be needing a job search website ever again) and Robert contacted me to say my resume looked great for the position. He had me come into the office to meet him and so he could tell me about the position, which turned out to be at a very exciting, fast-growing and industry-leading company in the area. Robert coordinated everything and, long story short, I got the job. I’ve only been there about three weeks now, but I can say I’ve had three truly great jobs in my life, and this is one of those three (and in ways, this one’s the best of them). I don’t know how to express my gratitude to Robert and to Nesco for making this happen.Robert’s a busy guy and hasn’t always been as readily available or quick to respond as I might like (hence only four stars), but that’s a relatively minor thing when viewed in the context of the amazing job he’s helped me get. It’s just something that might be helpful for other job-seekers to bear in mind. Be patient, and Robert and/or the Nesco team might well find you a job that’s truly perfect for you. That’s what they’ve done for me.
